    I've been watching a lot of C.S. Joseph recently, and Carl Jung theorized that when someone becomes "aspirational" with their inferior function, it allows them to transition into their "subconscious". The subconscious being the reverse stack order of your "Ego" or your base type. So for myself and other INTJ's our subconscious is Se, Fi, Te, Ni (ESFP). I work in a very Se demanding profession, so I had been working on developing my Se, and after watching C.S. Joseph's video on the subconscious I started making a conscious effort to let my unconscious take over. I think I've been able to do it twice. Most INTJ's know what it's like to enter their flow state. It's like that.... but you also run an emotional high, that makes it so interruptions don't cause you to break down. My best experience in my subconscious was about 8 hours long, and carried me through one of the busiest days this quarter. Everyone was emotionally frayed, and ready to snap but for some reason I was able to skate above it all. Putting out fires as I went. Additionally, after a full 8 hours of "human" I wasn't socially drained at all. It was surreal. Anyways, all that to say if you're able to enter your subconscious at will, then you can flip your filters whenever it's convenient, letting you be the best you on your terms.

    MY LIFE. I was watching a billiards game earlier this year and I (for a brief moment) was completely absorbed in the experience of watching this guy take a really difficult shot. Basically all thoughts and mind chatter stopped and I was totally caught up in him making his shot. After he made the shot (and missed) I was like.... woah..... is this how people feel when they watch/play sports.... and I can’t stop dreaming about that blissful moment where I wasn’t thinking. I immediately started dissecting the meaning behind my three seconds of Se.

  • @HIBYROSE
    @HIBYROSE Před 3 lety +7

    My Ni wants me to simulate the outcome of the experience before seeking the experience. Now to Se dominants that's incomprehensible, but Nis can actually do that. We are powerful observers. Using the info from our observations we simulate these experiences which then leads to determining whether or not it's worth seeking in corporeal. Yes, there are dimensions of life where simulation won't work, we gotta live them before trying to make a meaning.

    Great point! Because of Ni I'm very fast at things I have a thorough understanding of. And because using Ni first causes me to generalize things and get them to their core concepts the more I can relate something to something I already understand the faster the simulation and the faster I can solve.. to some this seems like a super power..... But In cases where something is too new and I don't yet understand how to relate it to my existing set of knowledge I've had to force myself to seek out new information for what I don't know or in some cases try different methods or discuss different approaches with my differently abled peers. In that way learning to be vulnerable and also sometimes reprioritize my se and sometimes fe has greatly enhanced my overall output! Basically what you described at the end... Great work!

    Good analysis, my perception is this:
    Imagine having two oil painting, with the same picture, one is painted with black and white, and the other is painted with rainbow colors.
    The black and white represents the Se world (objetivity and can´t be denied) and the rainbow colors are Ni. Ni colors represent the filter we use to give them a meaning ( conclusions, analizing, concepts, etc) but also if you mix that colors you can obtain new variety, we can translate them as the INXJ high qualities (long-term vision with creavity, planing base to estructure, etc)
    In resume, Ni dominant/auxiliar gives you the opportunity to "paint" the Se world subjectly to have a new and original vision of the future.
    Note: My boyfriend is ESFP so I'm going to ask him hahaha how is to have Se as dominant. I read that Ni inferior is the tool that use to take serious life decisions, imagining different abstract scenarios, is more related with the life objectives we all have, but no designed in the depth we usually do.

    Great video as always. I've often wondered about the overlap Ni has with the subconscious. Ni seems to run in the background a bit running simulations with the subconscious even when a person is preoccupied with sensory tasks....but I try to not overthink it, or my brain gets in a weird vortex of examining its own process until I succumb to some existential/nihilistic conclusion. Cartoons help :)

      As an ESFP, I felt that last part, including watching cartoons, VISCERALLY. My close friends are often surprised how nihilistic I can get if given enough meditative space and I HATE IT. Fortunately, when in that space, I reason "well, if nothing matters, I can do wtf I want and just watch cartoons"; Those bring me back to my happy, normal self.

  • @hanspeter2534

    Some months ago you said that Ti is pretty opinionated and because I really like you and your content, I want to proof that you are right in that case by telling you how to improve what you showed in this video :D
    First of all I find your example with the pot quite "felicitous" and it is probably "good enough" for an INXJ or ESXP because then the two functions are first and fourth, so that the difference between them is quite big. From the perspective of an ISTP who has them in the middle, I would say that I don't need to "Se" first before I can use Ni everytime. It is probably the same for other ISXPs or ENXJs.
    So based on your illustration I would say everyone has both pots but the volume goes through a valve first that "decides" in which pot the volume goes in each situation. Depending on your type the "mixing ratio" will may be 80/20 for INXJ/ESXP and 60/40 for ISXP/ENYJ
    ...............(Volume)................
    .....................I.......................
    .................|valve|..................
    ................/........\..................
    ............./.............\................
    .......| Se |.............| Ni |............
    .......| Ni |.............| Se |............
    .......|___|.............|____|............

    One way to mix things up is to share an early version of whatever you're simulating--a plan, a document, a strategy, whatever it is. Commit to this with your boss, a colleague, etc.---get it out of your head and into a form that other people can see and react to. I find this practice gets me out of my Ni comfort zone.

    Wow, someone actually brought up the prioritization flow of functions. I've been talking about this since.. Two years ago when I was talking about my perspective with Se-Ni vs Ni-Se.
    Spoiler: I have a similar perspective.
    Oh and Once I figure out what this information means, then I can figure out what I need to get it done.
    I'm pretty certain I'm on the Ne-Si axis more though. I bring up a crap ton of possible interpretations of the meaning and then criticize how specific the meaning it's meant to be seen at isn't specific enough or worded exactly. Once again slapping it in the face. (Si inferior.)

I hate cleaning, sleeping, eating, and even sexual urges. This stuff distracts me from my goal-they are necessary to address otherwise I can’t focus, but so annoying! I’d love to not have to perform bodily functions throughout the day I could get more done!

    • @mariek.474
      @mariek.474 Před 3 lety +6

      The point of MBTI isn't to strictly pigeonhole yourself into a type and its' default preferences, but to exercise your lower functions so that your overall experience of the world is more balanced and true (without sensory, your planning is worth little as small yet important details can be overlooked and might make it difficult to manifest your goals/ideas into the physical world. That's what makes a lot of INTJs ambitious, but not necessarily succesful). Chores suck but aren't anything a bit of routine can't handle : avoidance just makes the task heavier until it's impossible to put it off, *then* it imposes itself on your immediate time, rather than you deciding the best moments to get it done !

    It'd be interesting to hear people's stories of how their inferior function set the record straight with their saviour functions. Fourth function doesn't seem all the important or strong until the neglect of it kicks your first function in the teeth. It seems like never the dominant function becomes so submissive to the point of saying, "nah, I'm good, what you want addressed definitely takes priority", and yeeetttt...😅

    My problem comes when my Ni plan involves someone else's Ni plan and I don't know what that person's Ni plan is. Because my Te is so willing to do anything to achieve Ni's crazy vision without complaint, Te is just going crazy over here, saying, "Do I pull this lever? No, that didn't work. Okay, 180-degree change. Do I twist this knob? No, not that either? All right, clearly I have to go off in this wildly different direction and push this button then, right? No, wrong again!" I'm like Billy Madison telling Veronica Vaughn "Dear god, just give me the answer!" 😆 And Te's just going nuts, looking like a crazy, short-term-focused Se, because he's trying everything he can like a crazy person to be flexible and to achieve Ni's nutso plan! Oh well. You might not make a mess with that water pour, but trust me, I have plenty of ability to do that for everyone! 🤣

      I think she is definitely INTJ :) but I see where you’re coming from. I think INTJ’s sometimes get this bad rep for being crude or unsocial but I’ve seen them to have quite gentle aura’s, despite their Te. While yes Te can hit hard sometimes, Te can also be very helpful. I think Fe-Ti and Te-Fi can look similar sometimes when they work more in unison, so this can be especially seen I believe when they are in the middle of one’s cognitive stack, like they are for INFJ’s and INTJ’s. LiJo’s Fi definitely lights her up, and I’ve seen other INTJ’s be confused for INFJ’s when they are talking about something they love or find fascinating. Besides that, LiJo seems to be a very strong and natural Thinker :)
