This whole Poland concert was restrained, subtle, yet full of creative freedom-sorta jazzy R&B, I just love it- it is a rare and interesting showcase of her ability to play with phrasing and timing, without strictly using her vocal power/prowess to overtake a song. I wish I had the whole concert on dvd..
I really love how she makes Hurts Like Hell her song giving such a personal singing style... You cannot tell It's Aretha's version sung by Whitney, because Its Not Aretha's version... I hate that she felt like she was not enough. A beautiful soul. The judgements she faced is so shameful. Everyone is one bad decision from losing it all. I am glad she knew God for herself. That look along with her entire presentation is one of distance and doing what has to be done instead of her soul and heart being in anything. It looks like she is singing in very frigid air, that can't be good for the vocal cords. I believe that it wasn't just drugs that diminished some of her vocal prowess like everyone says. It was repeated stress on the vocal cords, like seen in so many of her amazing performances, where she did so many amazing and powerful things vocally.

Whitney lost her voice at least after 2004. never before. in the late nineties she made more R&B songS so it was a different style with different intonations but her voice was still there. it would be full to say that she still has a great voice but she did enough in the past to be remembered as one of the greatest SOUL voice ever. hopefully she will get her voice back but most of all i wish her peace and happiness. May love be yor forerunner!
