This one of the first (if not the first) times the world heard Whitney Houston's Billboard #1 hit, "All the Man That I Need." She performed this song for her Japanese concert-goers during her regional "Feel So Right Tour" in Japan, 1990. This was a full ten months before her third album, "I'm Your Baby Tonight" was released. - Hudba
Whitney Houston in my opinion is the Greatest singer of All time.
Yes!!!! ❤
Dennis Cameron definitely one of them.
C Hair100 no, just her
Dennis Cameron No No Nooooo!!! It's not just an opinion it is a fact!! She is the greatest singer of all time!
Dennis Cameron its not an opinion when everyone knows so lol....right on my brother 🖒🖒🖒
sick and sitting down with her legs crossed she STILL puts all these modern day "artist" to shame.
bumpy doo just like her cuzzin Dionne!!!! Sit in That chair and sing like your cousin whit!!! Beautiful!!
Wow, this audience didn't even know how lucky they were. A full 10 months before the album was released?!?! WHAT.
Right!!!
Kirk Whalum in saxophone was sensational. Whitney always producing legendary performances...
❤❤❤
😍
Totally insane on sax 🎷 playing for THE GREAT Whitney ⭐ in her performance for Military. The famous Red ♥️ dress Performance. ⭐
I looked for his name for 2 says. He is sensational and makes us listen intently...awaiting more!!
Whitney was out there sick with a cold sounding better than I do on my best day singing in a room with good acoustics lol
how do you know this?....the 'fans' are always saying...'she had a cold here'....'she was tired here'...'she was sick here'....I am a HUGE fan.....how do you all know these facts when I don't...I just knew that she took drugs and was a chain smoker...no?....
greg woolliscroft it’s been a while since I watched his whole show but I wanna say she mentions she was a bit under the weather- I may be wrong
Plus this was a very off concert for whitney I’m 1990
greg woolliscroft she said that she was sick in the beginning of the concert and plus u can hear it in her voice. She has that slight sick nasal tone. And plus how did she go from sounding like this to how she did on the jay Leno show from the same year. This wasn’t her vocal decline, it was just because she was sick
greg woolliscroft she said she was sick in the beginning
Whitney is the G O.A.T period! No one can touch her. She is vocal perfection
Not even one!
I concur ❤
Miss her … 😢🙏🏼🥰🌹🕊️
AMEN!
She once was. And she threw it all away.
Tone, power, technique, riffs & runs, and soul. To me SHE IS THE BEST vocalist of all time.
Period.
Absolutely!!! But let us also give props to that dude in the background. His harmonizing with her was so angelic.
Sho’ you right!
She’s the best female vocalist 👩🎤 and Luther was the best male vocalist rip 🪦 to dem both 💯🎤😨
I keep telling people who want to compare her to certain other singers claiming them to be equal, Whitney is in a class by herself and can't be touched.
When you can't tell where the sax begins and she ends - thats phenomenal. Brings tears to your eyes. Absolutely love this song.
lol 😂😂😂
Le langage humain est pauvre, c'est pour cela que l'on fait appel à la peinture et la musique
@@thomasrehag1747? 😮
@@gloglogo2638Sorry, she and her personal saxophonist were and remain a kind of symbiosis. He their echo and their tailwind. It hurts and uplifts. Actually unmistakable. Well, everyone sees it differently. A question of fascination and listening talent.
She Was Sick & Still Sounded Like An Angel
+Chris Houston I was thinking the same thing. Love it.
I know, and totally agree! Singing is hard enough, and she just kills it in the most chilled way ❤
Everyone says that about their fave singers. Any credible source you can direct us all to, to verify her sickness during this performance?
@@dawudjibreel6075she’s audibly hoarse. Especially audible in the key change. You maybe aren’t a singer?
I noticed that as well in one of her high notes... her energy carried her through!!
Whitney is the most ICONIC singer of ALL TIME!! She is the G.O.A.T!!!!! 2023 and STILL listening to her music. ❤❤
Me too I love her she is my favorite singer 😊

There will never be another Whitney!
I most certainly agree KC.
3:01 That Solo is soo emotional, Kirk Whalum is just the king of saxophone.
❤❤❤
Yeah no one can emote so many feelings than Kirk...incredible
She was sick during this performance. And she still killed it! May we forever miss this wonderful woman of God. Ugh it just breaks my heart.
❤mine too
Sie konnte es verbergen
Took 3 men to back her up honey ! The power in that voice! The harmony was beautiful- wished we would hear it more in later performances. Thanks for sharing!!
It takes a mass choir to come close to matching Whitney's strong mid-range mezzo-soprano! Thank you for the comment.
***** Oh my God, I started to think she did it cause how come Krissy is in the same state. Its all about Whitney's money. Whitney has way way more money then folks think 20 million, please yeah right more. More like 200 and it will all go to Krissy.
Yes Erick! The male harmony is better for her voice than the females except in Bodyguard tour when she had Olivia lol
by by.
yes indeed
Wow! There will never be another voice like that. Not to mention the exquisite beauty she was!
so true
I just wish Whitney had just followed up a doctor appointment and they would have caught the heart disease she had, and maybe she would still be here with us.
@@thelmal.hopkins5351exactly.
Absolutely!❤
This song is my favorite of all Whitney's songs and it gives me goosebumps every single time I hear her sing it!
Yes indeed
Yes her best song when she sings this it seems as if it does something to her and me lol
Look this song up where she sings it live for the soldiers, 💯 % fire!!
There will no time soon never be a singing 🐐 like Whitney H. She the only female singer that ever gave me goose bumps every time she sing. This one of my favorite Whitney's songs. She's on another level when she sings this song❤❤❤❤❤❤😢😢I will always love you Whitney😢😢❤❤
Mine too
She just sat her lil butt right there and sang the hell out of that song. I felt it down to my toes. GREATEST VOICE EVER ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Yessss i just said this to myself 🫶🏾🙌🏾
This woman did this with a cold and cross legs sitting on a spinning stool. Let that sink in people
Hello !
Shoutout to her background singers and band just pure perfection ❤️ Rest peacefully WH
I grew up with Whitney's generation and though I wasn't into her type of songs and singing, this track always gave me the chills whenever I heard it. Even the recorded version, especially the part from 3:00 to 3:30, it was so vibrant. I could even be in a factory chain working situation and when it came on the radio, it always had that uplifting effect on me. I didn't appreciate you as well before Whitney, but now I see the jewel we have lost. Be happy and peaceful.
I feel you 😥✨❣️🙏
OMG Whitney!! The acrobatics from 3.09 to 3.27 are stuff you'd be expecting to hear from an operatic Mezzo or dramatic soprano. What versatility. Tatiana Mure is so right when she says, 'my greatest teacher'. Aspiring true vocalists have a lot to learn from this gift.
The greatest!! No one compares to Whitney..
Whitney + Kirk = magic. Even sick she slayed
Aesha Alberts absolutely true as she always did, and you absolutely have her beauty, can you sing?
Kirk Whalum is a living Legend 🔥🎶
I love how the background singer sang along with her from 1:58 - 2:25
Whitney had a nasty head cold! I remember this!!! When she is on...she's on! I'm glad u all appreciate her!!!
Avery Fisher That look like her brother on the background vocal!
Edward Foster-Graham Yup its Gary...
Edward Foster-Graham NOT ON THE SOLO BACK ROUND. BUT THE TALLER MAN IS GARY GARLAND HOUSTON HER HALF BROTHER.
SO lovely & romantic :)
Listen to her sing along to that sax, pure talent. Sounds like an angel :(
Exactly
@@souheilabelhimeur1064это правда ❤❤❤❤❤
Other artists you can just listen to, their recorded versions are usually the best but Whitney you have to sit down, watch and listen in amazement
malesecretary agreed. I'm playing this over and over again as if it has just came out. I love her voice and presence so much!
Whitney has such a unique sweet angelic voice.
Gone to soon, but her memory and loving spirit will live forever.
Resting now in the peace she so deserves.
She is the queen
There’s no one like her!!
I miss her!!!
What a gift 🎉
Me too🙏🏾RIP Whitney 💕💜💕💜
@@marthajohnson5346still saddens me miss her abundantly
People who witnessed MJ and Whitney live in their prime were damn lucky.
The ending was so musical, THIS was Whitney
The first ever performance of this song was done at Newark Symphony Hall. She was doing a fundraiser event for then Mayor Ken Gibson of Newark. Sometime in 86-87. She had just finished recording it the day before as she explained to the audience. I was there.
Wow what an honor!
Um....The IYBT album was recorded in like 89’. Like right after the Whitney era tour
One Dollar Bleach Clive had the tendency to use older songs for future projects. You're Still My Man was originally recorded for her first album but they saved it for her second album.
TheInsaneBEAST1 wow, well I need a link to this supposed first performance
@@onedollarbleach6891 its really not that hard to believe, this song is a cover from the early 80s anyway. She always performed Didn't We Almost Have It All and I Wanna Dance With Somebody in 1986 before the second album was out
To think she was sick that day my God what a talent. she outrank most of the popular so call singers nowadays.
By far! !!!
Most? Name one that outrank her today?
ugggghhhhh..when a performance can sends chills down your spine..a talent like no other..Thank God for these videos..come on Whitney!!
Technique to try and hide that cold is genius!! Queen!!!
Still can't believe she's gone.
This is why Whitney was Whitney…she did not even have to sing this song or any song is her Full Voice to tell a story through HER vocals like none other. Some times I wonder what her career and presence would have been in the time of Social Media with even more access to the remote but digital world. I thank God for her and him allowing her to inspire me personal with a voice that is MORE THAN A GIFT AND A TALENT. SHE IS THE PROTOTYPE THAT CANNOT BE REPLICATED.
Actually social media might have undermined her career. Given the relative low bar for new artists (good and not so good ones) to put out stuff, her music might have been somewhat lost in the sea of questionable materials. Do you really believe that all it takes to be successful is talent? That's a small part of the journey.
@@prof.rogeriosantanaYup. This is true.
The sax and voice was just heavenly... The male bv's are fab
Oh man, this woman sang her ass off so effortlessly. Simply magnificent...RIP Nippy!
Mikiros Garoes on a spinning stool don't forget that.
Up to this time NO ONE has come near Whitney's SOUL and TALENT.
Mariah vision of love, hold my beer.
Celebrities come and go.. But Whitney Houston
And with a cold and stopped up she still Kills!!!
Who said she had a cold?.......the 'fans' are always posting, 'she wasn't well here', 'she was tired here', 'she had a cold here'.....all the time...who really knew?....
saxophone Performance By Kirk Whalum
make make I totally agree. If you really listen to that man blow that horn you can really appreciate the true depth of his talent, he is really one of the best.
That damned Kirk Whallum is a beast!!! I always felt Nippy's voice sounded like a brass instrument. That saxophone PERFECTLY matches her voice... especially when she soars....
GOD! I MISS YOU WHITNEY.
whitney, please remember, we all love you. thank you for everything, sweetheart! We love you and miss you oh so much!
Every time I listen to, I get to watch her, I go into the same ache and question, How could she leave us so soon? What was the price that this girl princess had to pay to suffer so much? May you sing with the angels for all eternity, Whitney. We love you very much, girl.
Never again this earth will be blessed with a voice like this, the light flowing out from her mouth was like a glare reflecting between diamonds. For the history of music, forever WHITNEY.
indeed! Whitney Elizabeth Houston is a once in human existence miracle/gift that must be cherished for our future generations to hear and see what true greatness and vocal divinity sounds like!
she was sick as a dog but she still deliver.....whoa...."THE VOICE"....CHILLS #AMAZING.....#GIFTEDTALENT
Whitney could sing a song live and it would sound different each time and fantastic every time
STUNNING!!!!!!! The untimely loss of Whitney Houston is so so sad. She was the epitomy of a perfect singing voice, and what comes with genius sadly is displayed in her personal decline? So sorely missed..................
Some peoples lights continue to burn bright long after they leave this life
Still listening 2023. ❤❤
Who else is watching in 2023? ✨
❤❤❤❤яяяяя❤❤❤❤
The Sax player and Whitney did a great job!!!!!❤
She still sings chills down my back her voice is amazing.
This is like 100 times better than any version of the so much overrated I Will Always Love You.
There's epic clip of her singing this song on the Arsenio Hall show. There's no words to describe it.
I totally agree! This is my very favorite song of Whitney's and will always be.
KDOG DAWG you just wanted to say something didn't you? 🤣🤣 don't hate
KDOG DAWG I will always love you is a vocal masterpiece as well it’s less difficult with the vocals but what it lacks in those powerful vocals it makes up for vocal beauty.
Who this idiot. If you think I Will Always Love You is overrated, then you're very delusional.
Whitney's voice was one of those once in a lifetime treasures. Also, with that hair and dress, she looks so similar to Lena Horne!
I still can't believe she's gone. Her music and god given voice is so alive though, in our hearts.
Sax solo and her voice ... im in heaven on earth.
All the Magic of Kirk Whalum 🔥
Whitney is the very very very best singer who ever walked this earth. She was solid class and brilliant talent!
I've got chills. Whitney was the voice and we have this voice to keep us in the form of beautiful music. I know she's resting in peace. Thank you Whitney
Listen to how her upper register just purrs. It's nothing short of angelic and you see God in His fullness when this earth born angel opens her mouth to sing. It's a vocal marvel to hear and unparalleled beauty to behold in one vessel. Only God could have created this. Make no mistake about it.
M Andrews I love this comment!!!! 💓
I love her so much and that voice.. so pure!
She was still at her very prime at this point - the Bodygaurd was yet to come - her voice was good till the late 90s - even on her very last album where some say she had 'lost it' she was still in par with everyone out there today - Whitney Houston was truly blessed - guess all true legends ( well I guess most of them) have a tragic end - guess it's their destiny.
I just love this performance and this tour...sick or not it is one of my favorites! 3:17 is amazing! And 4:27 on out...I cant even deal!!
She's lucky she doesn't have to grow old like the rest of us.....head cold who cares.....I love her and miss her.
Lol@grow old 😭😂🤧
Powerful voice touches your soul
She is simply the best.
Kit da p
LOVE LOVE the jazzy end to this song....how she breaks it down...so smooth!!!
a voice silk with the depth of an ocean- pure 90s new york essence
Those high notes at 3:17 are magnificent! And those beautiful notes at 5:30 - 5:40
This is so beautiful. Especially the way she sings at the end, really soft and smooth for you to kindly sway too. Love it!
...all of that.....sitting down. 🤯 What a truly impeccable voice...I miss her
Exquisite. Divine. Transcendent. All of these words fall short. That's Whitney.
My ALL time favorite!!.....simple BUT powerful!! Rest in peace Whitney, thank you for sharing your voice...
A record many people don't realize Whitney holds is the 'Most Remakes to hit 1 on the Hot 100 Billboard Charts'.
Lol you mean 2? Because the only two remakes that she sang that reached #1 were this and I Will Always Love You. The rest were original.
No, not just "2" LOL
Wilford Kelly
Saving All My Love For You,
The Greatest Love of All.
But also...
I'm Every Woman (#1 Adult Contemporary),
& The Star Spangled Banner (Also Adult Contemporary)
You got me on two, I completely forgot about GLOA and SAMLFY being remakes, but if I remember correctly, I'm Every Woman stopped at #4, and The Star-Spangled Banner only reached #6, and that was upon its re-release in 2001.
Wilford Kelly Correct about IEW & SSB, but I was just showing that she Techincally had other #1s outside of just the Hot 100, for good measure.
NOBODY WILL EVER COMPARE TO WHITNEY HOUSTON ❤. SHE PLAYED WITH HER REMARKABLE VOICE
SHOULDN'T HAVE ENDED THE WAY SHE DID. LOVED ALL HER SONGS.
GOOD VIBES FROM ARGENTINA
Absolutely classic Whitney - Breathtakingly talented and beautiful in every way....thanks for posting this gem!
my best Teacher.
+Tatiana Mure You are not the only one :).
+Tatiana Mure I know right! If you want to learn how to REALLY sing you have to listen to mother Whitney!
very true! just viewing her vids, you will definitely learn. i don't know how she comes up with so many ways on how to sing a certain song. no 2 are alike.
stanbalo Exactly. Her improvisational skills are unmatched. She truly is a singer's singer!
3:17 - 3:22
PURE HEAVEN STILL...
It’s otherworldly 🤯

My favorite voice of all time..I'm now 47 and you still my #1 Whitney Houston although you're gone...Rest in Peace.❤❤❤❤
This woman.
I used to cry myself to sleep at night
But that was all before he came
I thought love had to hurt to turn out right
But now he's here, it's not the same
It's not the same
He fills me up, he gives me love
More love than I've ever seen
He's all I got, he's all I got in this world
But he's all the man that I need
And in the morning when I kiss his eyes
He takes me down and rocks me slow
And in the evening when the moon is high
He holds me close and won't let go
He won't let go
He fills me up, he gives me love
More love than I've ever seen
He's all I got, he's all I got in this world
But he's all the man that I need
He fills me up (He fills me up)
He gives me love
More love than I've ever seen
(Than I've ever seen)
He's all I got (he's all I've got)
He's all I got in this world
But he's all the man that I need
(All the man, all the man I need)
He fills me up (he fills me up)
He gives me love
More, more love, more love (more love),
More love, more love (than I've ever seen)
He's all I've got (he's all I've got)
He's all I got in this world
But he's all the man, all the man
(All the man, all the man I need)
He fills me up (woo)
More love than I've ever seen
He's all I've got
All the man, all the man I need
😢Whitney was the best what hurt so bad was the way she left
I think she was sick here, but still performed live amazingly!!! I don't think she ever lipsyncd, kept it real and gave her ALL!!!!

Wow!! 4:00 to the end is pure gold.
Whitney could have dropped the mic and walked off the stage after this! Lawd have mercy! What a voice!
Such a beautiful voice. You cannot help but look at this with hearts in your eyes 😩😍😍
Whitney is what you call a vocal musical Icon.!!!❤
Whitney by far is the greatest female singer of all times .

I love everything about this lady she's a teacher of any and everything you need to know about life thank you father God for letting the world hear and see the most thank you father God for sharing her with the world
Absolutely the greatest vocalist and saxophonist‼️
she was sick and still Killed it sounding better than todays artist and imagine if she was sick
Wow, just wow !!! A rare talent for shure !
This woman is the best vocalist ever
The VOICE!!!! She gives me chills.
She will be remembered forever. I don't care about her being a drug addict. This lady was a talent that shall rise above all her pathetic demons. Long live Whitney.
Why do you think she did crack? She has admitted to doing drugs. She has told us what she did and never was it crack. Why does she have to be a crackhead? Crack and cocaine are not the same thing.
Hey Stephon, just read your thoughts and I believe she was not a crack head or a drug abuser but lured into that life instead actually by some people who should have been looking out for her instead of luring her into that life but it seemed her talent was a meal ticket for them. Soo sad, had that not happened we all might still be listening to that beautiful voice, one of the best of all time! Shame on those people!!!
@@denniscameron9135 Some people are not strong as other's to fight off demons! Still love Whitney!❤
Background singers sound great in this song also

Such elegance as much power over the voice, so sure, it is a pleasure to hear, feel ... I have the impression that the music becomes something material, because it reaches full people ... she commands the notes, it's like said "now I will launch a higher note, now I will whisper, now I look and sing just for you ... it's a pleasure to hear ... such elegance, such elegance ...
She's a flawless vocalist! Love the sensuality she adds to this song!
