China doesn’t sacrifice short term gains for long-term strategy. They don’t play stupid games like we do. And we are, unfortunately, about to win the stupid prize (which is irrelevance 🏆)
Consider stats from China BS until independently tested. Most of what they churn out is state propaganda.

It means nothing GPT 4 is 2 years old still this time. GPT 5 is almost aligned having been trained about a year ago. They are now doing the runs on GPT 6 open Ai are gonna crush when it comes.

I've heard China has more than 50% of all AI researchers, why wouldn't they have the best model? If google could create TP4, which is behind NVIDIA but still competitive , then China could create their own AI accelerator. So I'd be surprised if China don't take the lead.
For years China has put out the most AI papers. Yet they never lead in the technology. It really is quality over quantity.

@@T1tusCr0w agreed, don't see China catching up any time soon. Probably take 3 years for them to start getting compute. But this is probably the one thing China want to make sure they get a lead on if they can. I'd be shocked if they haven't put in unlimited money to do this. Also since they don't have compute they have a big incentive to work on the theory and get improvements that way. If they not spreading lies, have you seen their EMO tech.
If China could buy Nvidia GPU's, Nvidia would be worth probably 3 trillion by now. China would buy everything Nvidia could sell them.
They will be working on their own accelerator, they have a decent node. not the best but okay.

Nvidia are basically supplying steel for the Industrial Revolution in 1840. & it’s good to be in steel. It’s probably right holding back the Hoppers from them. Even though I’d make cash off it. Did you know they have buyers on lots of pc forums trying to pay for people’s personal 4090’s that they then chain together for Ai compute. They are deadly serious about this. & USA better not blow THIS lead. They will never get it again.
Its only recently that they tackled AGI. They focused on industrial application AI the past few years.
At least the people behind this knew not to lie to hard, by letting chatgpt win like 2 areas. This is such a joke, they are struggling to even get the hardware over their and their export market is crashing. I wish their people luck over there as it's getting harder and harder for them.

When competing with America, China has been known to lie. You should do a side by side for us.
China has their stuff together. I hate to admit it. We do not. We will sacrifice long-term strategy for a short term success every single time in America. They do strategic five-year plans, that actually work (which is the rarity for governments.)

Pretty sure OpenAI is going to loose its lead in couple of years. The rate at which other models are showing up is insane while OpenAI is really slow. Even if OpenAI does manage to be at the top, people wills till be more interested in other more compact AIs unlike OpenAI.
@@imerence6290 OpenAI is probably working on GPT7 right now. They aren't releasing major anything because they want to assess the competition first before releasing older models just to stay relevant for now.

The reality open AI has more than likely been sitting on gtp 5 and now maybe even gtp 6 just waiting on the rest of the world to catch up. that's all I got out of this being how we are getting gtp 5 some time this summer.

Some basic property one should keep in mind when comparing LLMs is that there performance is (to some extend) language dependent. [11:38]
It’s good when people come up with unique actually useful tests and see the outputs by model; this is like saying, “We got the stamp,” but that doesn’t easily showcase how useful that is in real world applications
we will soon know which human language is most AI efficient and accurate for the different AI tasks of training, inferencing etc.
Nothing is better than the LLM ChatGPT 4 by openAI as of yet.

Very true. Like they stole the ISS design, even though they were banned from it. I bet that's all they could. There's no way they could build and launch one. No way.
Chinese companies don't have chips, this level of LLM is already their limit, it's similar to Soviet rockets during cold war. When LLMs continue scaling up, they can't even compete with Indian or Korean companies.

This was a great comparison video but the results are not normalised. The GPT4 results of the sensechat vs claude comparisions are wildly different, could be due to comparison with different versions of GPT4>
GPT4 is however very rigid in their output style, which I believe, many other models have sort of rectified like Gemini and even LLama3, but idk when GPT will

For a lot of stuff we do, like justice, health care or driving, 90% is not good enough. But when all these numbers are at 99.9%, we'll have AGI basically.

It's really not that hard to surpass GPT-4.
1. Many datasets ( most open-source )
2. Mixture of Experts with 3-5 Experts and 100-200B per expert
3. Just train for as long as needed.

Some of these tests might be culturally biased, if theyre asking a chinese bot trained on chinese data a question about china, it will respond better than an english bot trained on english data etc
