Yep, I was thinking the same thing while watching! Sad, as it is, when I saw the picture of her as a young girl, I noticed how Ted Bundy's last victim, Kimberly Leach, sure resembled Raquel at that age.
I was named after her 🥰 because my dad danced with her for a couple seconds when she went to entertain the Vietnam marines in ‘67 and never got over that 😅
Raquel was beautiful and sexy. She was also an extremely talented actress who excelled at comedy. She was typecast as a sex symbol at a young age. It took years and fierce determination to land acting parts outside of those bombshell ones. She was very private. Read that she was grounded, down to earth, and had a good sense of humor. Some of that was due to her family upbringing. The rest due to her relentless pursuit of good acting roles. She was also a very loving mother. Thanks, Karine for this video tribute to Raquel Welch!

Completely agree with you about the age at passing. My mother also lived to 102 and did not eat a very healthy diet. So RW passing at 82 with all she did with diet and exercise has me baffled. She was a hero for me growing up. I was a teen in the 1960’s and had a “well developed” bustline. Those were the days when Twiggy and other models and actress like her were all the rage. I was incredibly self conscious of my body as a result. When Raquel came onto the scene, it was the first time I had a role model that made it ok to be a D cup size. I also took up yoga, but not because of Raquel. In my 20’s I was friends with a neighbor that I thought was around my own age, when I learned she was actually ten years older than me I was floored! That is what got me into yoga! But later on when I learned RW also practiced yoga, my admiration for her continue to grow. To this day I am still shocked and saddened at her passing. Thank you for creating this video and sharing her story. ❤❤❤
When I lived in San Diego in the 70s I met a guy who had delivered pizza to Raquel at her home. He said he was surprised that she was smaller than he thought, and she was wearing a caftan or sweats, something the equivalent of comfy stay at home clothes. He said she was really nice, came across as a sweet person. And she gave him a good tip. So there's my Raquel story that isn't even really mine! She always gave me the feeling she was "good folk."

I think the only woman who was probably even prettier than Raquel was Ursula Andress [especially in "She"]. A bit of 'pub trivia'; Raquel had a tiny part in the 1964 Elvis film "Roustabout"; She's with the troublesome students when E sings a song called 'The Poison Ivy League'.
Me & my mom when we saw she passed, said how beautiful she is & how young she was when she passed.. my mother is in her mid-70s & my grandmother is in her mid-90s so yes I agree with you Karine.

I worked for her ex-husband, James Welch, in the mid-eighties. One day he was out and Raquel called the house. She wanted to leave a message and spelled out her name for me. She was very polite and nice on the phone. I have always thought that she was incredibly stunning. Well, that is my brush with the famous! Thanks for the video.

I didn’t know she was in Playboy + Hefner let her off the hook. Quite a victory he didn’t agree w/often. My mother was a Playboy Bunny (when that was an actual job) in the 1970’s at the Boston Club. She was also in Playboy Magazine + remained fully clothed.

I never heard skin-color or ethnicity be used against people because all the adopted 'foreign' kids had Icelandic parents and were no different from the rest of us, aside from being born elsewhere. That both gave me a very equality-based view towards other races but also made me really ignorant about their culture. That is why I appreciate your take so much, you aren't here preaching to us but educating us through your own perspective. You do it very well.

You should start by reading some sort of book where it's just your voice. Your platform is already huge, but I guarantee you, it will blow up even more should you decide to do ASMR.

I've recently discovered your channel and it's apparent that you my dear are deeper and more insightful than many others I've run across. The statements made of "...woah is me" as it relates to ppl who are considered beautiful but speak on the down sides of it, is a good example. When ppl say that I know they are incapable of empathizing with others on a humanitarian level. It's only when they walk in the shoes they think they want, do they come to understand how it feels. And yes, 82 is relatively young. 💕
In general, we can't handle goddesses. You know what I mean. Raquel was a visual goddess. It's like that is enough for most people, but there's way more to her than that.

The moment you mentioned how she ate I checked her natal chart because I knew she had to be a Virgo. Virgos are serious about their health and eating habits in general. Half of it was w. help from unseen powers, half of it was a new experimental 'drug' (supplement) that seems to work on female reproductive cancers (orasal).
I'm sharing in case it could save a woman's life, I don't believe in for-profit healthcare, it has the incentive to keep us chronically sick.
