A full series on this little Red Vert is needed.

Extraordinarily valuable video for a VW owner! Like a fool, I sold my father's 61 Beetle for $400 in 1972. It was shipped directly from the factory to NC. It was in mint condition with absolutely no rust! I had to have my first Mercedes! Again, I was a walking fool!

I recently purchased a MiGi Daytona kit car built in 1981.. My grandson is autistic and he saw a video of one. I take him for a ride in this kit car--he really loves it. I am 70 and I worked as a classic American and English car mechanic. So...I need to get knowledgeable on the VW engineering. I want to thank you for your fantastic tutorials on these VW's. Most sincerely, Chris Maley

Looks like he got a nice car with some issues, but manageable ones. BTW, I loved Heidi's "Flintstones" remark!!

In 1972 I bought a 1971 'Super Beetle' for $1800 and drove it for 21 years. At the end it was a 'Flintstone' car, but I really miss it. That car went cross country about six times and went everywhere from West Texas to the Carolinas, and back to Idaho and Montana. It was far better to me than I was to it. If I had the money I would consider buying another one and maybe restoring it with a 'Big Bore' kit, if those are still available.

Saving one VW Beetle at a time. Looks like a good bases and a good price. Looking foward to future work being done. I bought my 1963 rag top a few years ago and the values have really gone up.

I just bought a beautiful ‘64 Beetle on Bring a Trailer for $17,500. The next day it was awarded the “Car and Driver” magazine’s “Bring a Trailer Pick of the Day”! I’m going to have it shipped from CA to TX. Oh, it’s also a matching numbers car with new baby blue paint and new stock looking interior.

You are the best. I picked up a silver 1979 Super Beetle in very good condition for $2000. I had agreed to pay $4000 for it and the owner cut the price in half because she said it needed a lot of work. Original owner. I rebuilt the brakes and put new bumpers on. I also replaced the drive shafts. I’ve learned a lot from watching your channel. Thanks for what you do.

It's hard to explain what your channel means to me. Your such a great teacher in an encouraging way. I'm the gay in my local vw community so I don't exactly fit in. That makes it challenging to receive help or tips etc. Gays are looked down on enough as it is so I don't want to ask any stupid questions. You've so much about my 70 westy like timing and carb adjustments. Thank you so much. People really are out in the world learning from you. Big hugs from Oklahoma.

I have an orange 71 super beetle convertible. Mine also had a lot of problems the seller forgot to mention. 🙄 It’s almost brand new now though. I’ve had to pull the engine three times, new oil cooler seals, new push rod tubes and seals, new cylinder and cylinder heads, exchange generator for alternator, new fuel pump, new master cylinder, new ignition switch, new shift rod bushing, some wiring, new steering wheel, condenser and coil, lol I’m sure I’m missing something. I’ve had it about a year and it’s finally semi reliable. Thankfully the floor pans and heater channels were rust free.
