Dealership said 50$ for this job. This video helped me do it for 26$ and in the future I’ll be able to do it for even less.

Great video. Up is up but air flow is down 👍.

      @STEVEN STEVEK…
Steven, I must agree with you about “…air flow is down.”
One can see on the video that the debris
[leaves, twigs, etc] are ON THE TOP
      of the cabin air filter.
That debris was carried IN by a
DOWN-flow of air from the outside
      environment.
The debris could not pass through
the filter, so the debris just SAT ON TOP
      of the filter.
Therefore [it seems to me], the ARROW indicates the
      DIRECTION of the AIR-FLOW
through the FILTER, which is FROM TOP TO BOTTOM.
Full disclosure: I bought a FRAM Cabin Air Filter from
ADVANCE AUTO PARTS in OKC in January 2023 for $15.29.
The instructions in the box are quite detailed.
Step 8 instructs one to “Install the new filter… arrow printed
on the side of the filter *POINTING UP.*
      Clearly a *misprint.*
If you have read this verbiage to its conclusion,
please excuse the lack of editing.

What is the name of that pillow-like thing that was attached to the inside of the glove compartment door? My mechanic had all kinds of problems doing what you just now did in about 2 minutes because he wasn't used to dealing with a damper arm/rod. He ended up just leaving the pillow-like thing on the floor, and the intake guy at my dealership today told me it was nothing and threw it away! Obviously, it's something and I have to get another one! Thanks.

It’s likely a sound dampener which quiets things down when the climate control system is running. Right behind that pillow is the blower motor which drives the cabin airflow.

Thank you I’m 70 and they want to charge me $38 for labor + the filter I think I can do this. Not that the price is too much they have overhead. But I’m gonna try 😘
