    There is an assumption that Tokyo is nothing but concrete, but it’s one of the best urban planned cities in the world. There’s always green space and everything is accessible on foot due to great transportation. Good video, dude.

      Thank you so much. I've been able to do some amazing day hikes and visits to the country because the transportation system is so good.

    I've been in love with Japanese culture, language, sports and of course anime for a long time and when I went to Japan last year it really felt like I wanted to stay forever (or at least years). Once I finish university I will do my best to find a job in Japan and move there beacause there's still so many things I want to see.

    I'm coming to Japan in Autumn next year and I will be travelling alone. I'm not scared because I know that I'll be safe. That was the first criteria I had before considering my trip. I can't wait 😍

    • @weeklyfascination
      @weeklyfascination  Před měsícem +3

      Safety is a big issue when traveling. You'll have an awesome time in Japan.

      Biggest danger in Japan is bears due to all the gun restriction for hunters but that mainly in the country side and natural disasters.

    • @weeklyfascination
      @weeklyfascination  Před měsícem +2

      You are correct. And they have a very difficult time doing anything about it because hunters face so much backlash and they don't get paid much:

      It's funny, a lot of the people who know about my pending trip to Japan this September have shown concern that I plan to travel alone. I feel like if there's any reason for me to be concerned about my safety in Japan at all, it won't be because of the native Japanese. It'll be other non-Japanese tourists.

    • @weeklyfascination
      @weeklyfascination  Před měsícem +4

      Frankly, the only time I feel a bit a bit nervous in Tokyo is when I see (and hear) a group of rowdy foreigners.

  • @LuizAlleman

    I've known about the cons of Japan for years now but the pros just always seem to outweigh them in my circumstances

    • @weeklyfascination
      @weeklyfascination  Před měsícem +2

      I think it's important to look at both sides. There are amazing things about Japan, but it's also good to note that there are some things that require a degree of acceptance. If we're aware that there will be challenges, then we're better equipped to handle them when they come up.

      That would be awesome! And it should cool down a bit by then.
      As far as stuff to buy, living in a small space has cured me of impulse buying. But if I were here on vacation, I'd bring an extra suitcase and go on a shopping spree.

    • @southcoastinventors6583
      @southcoastinventors6583 Před měsícem +1

      N2/N1 is not want you want be able to to hold a conversation and read menus in small towns is the level you want. The JLPT is a written test with some audio comprehension and best way to study for that is read a Japanese Newspaper and watch the news. Also it will take you at least three/four years if you are consistent so good luck.

    Do you find the food in Japan to be loaded with lots of processed ingredients like in America? I can barely eat out here in the states anymore because everything makes me sick lol.

    • @weeklyfascination
      @weeklyfascination  Před měsícem +1

      I cook almost every meal at home. My body just doesn't perform well on any processed food. And to answer your question, I find that a lot of Japanese food is heavily processed.
      However, you can get fresh fruits and vegetables in season. They are delicious and cheaper in season. I try to be mostly keto and find that very easy to do when I cook at home. Hope that helps.

      @@weeklyfascination Yeah I do the same thing here in NYC. I try to get most of my food from farms. Most food today is loaded with chemicals. Are there farm delivery services that service the Tokyo area? Or do you go to farmers markets?

    • @weeklyfascination
      @weeklyfascination  Před měsícem

      There are a few famers markets around Tokyo where you can get organic food right from the farmer. There is also a great French supermarket called "Bio c' Bon". They sell organic food at very reasonble prices.

      東京のレストランのほとんどは体にいいものではないと思いますが、昔から営業しているお店は添加物を入れず、プライドを持って調理してると思います。
      寿司や蕎麦、鰻、お好み焼き‥ 食べ物の種類は豊富です。
      田舎の方が、安く体に良い手作りの食事を提供するお店が多いと思います。
      オーガニック食品は沢山ありますよ。
      でも東京から離れたところに住めば、肉や卵、野菜に果物、何でも新鮮で美味しいです。

    日本人です😊
    個人的には【安全安心な日本に住みながら、ドルやユーロで収入を得る】のが一番良いかなと思ってます。
    今は欧米の企業に勤めながらリモートワークで日本に住み続ける事は割と容易になりましたよね~
    日本は滅茶苦茶コスパの良い国だと思いますし、安全でインフラやヘルスケアのレベルはかなり高い国だと思います。
    そんな日本の事をきちんとリスペクトして下さるがいこの方の移住は私は大歓迎です👍

      国としてはそれでも良いから、外国の人たち、それも富裕層の移住者を増やして国内消費を促す方が優先やと思ったんやろう
      将来、日本に住む人口の割合の中で外国人富裕層が増えてきたら特別税のようなものを設けるかも知れないけど

      税金の問題がややこしいので海外の会社で働きながら日本に住んでリモートワークをするのは結構難しいですよ。バケーションならいいけどビザ取得して住民票入れたら日本に納税しなきゃなりませんが、支社への駐在とかじゃなくて海外にある会社で働いてるのに日本に住むとなると会社の方も税処理とか複雑になるし日本の税制に詳しい会計士がいない限り一社員のためにそんな面倒くさいことをしてくれる会社はあまりないと思います。CZcamsrのような個人事業主なら自分で確定申告すればいいだけですが、雇われの身だとハードル高いです。
