I recently got a surgery last week, so I can't get to my lab and do chemistry. Lucky for me, there are chemistry channels like your's on CZcams so I can still study it while I recover. :D
That really sucks dude. Why'd they do it??? Luckily for me my parents are cool with my chemistry. If someone threw out my chemicals I would be pissed, that's several hundred dollars gone. Not to mention it would wreck the environment.
Tom's Lab Yea, I wouldn't let anyone throw out my chemicals, not just for my love of chemistry, but also because you need to be educated on how to dispose of them. Since there isn't a chemical disposal business around I have to either neutralize them or make my chemicals highly insoluble myself before I get rid of them.
Tom's Lab same with mine, they did it because my mom attacked me and then I reported it to my counselor at school and children and youth made my parents throw them but I didn’t know until after they did it, they literally just taped bottles of acetone, alcohols, sulfuric and hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide, potassium permanganate, perchlorate, nitrates, sulfates, chlorates, hypochlorites, and all sorts of stuff and I explained at it would likely poison anything nearby the landfill it went to and could possibly cause a fire or explosion in the dump truck if the chemicals get mixed, I had things in there to make explosives and manganese heptoxide and chloric acid, idk if 5eh mixed in the truck but if they did the truck would catch fire and maybe explode, but yeah that’s a few hundred dollars of MINE down the drain, but now I’m focused on freshwater aquariums so I don’t do much chemistry, but there’s definitely none now, I was just planning on doing some chloric acid or manganese heptoxide videos every now and then but that’s obviously not happening now
The chemistry Nerd didn't your parents force you to stop doing chemistry a while ago too? The situation doesn't sound very good where you are, hopefully when you get older you'll be able to get back into chemistry.
Tom's Lab yeah they did they were too worried with some of the stuff I wanted, then they let me get them but didn’t let me do distillations or get s fumehood or anything else, I’m done chemistry tho like I said that one thing I did that exploded scared me and now I don’t really like doing a lot of chemistry. I’m still pissed since I lost a lot of money from when they threw it all out
