If we connect all the major Indian cities over the next half a century, it would revolutionize the manner in which we travel. This will also aid us in our climate goals. We need to have dedicated stations catering to bullet trains and the increasing disposal income would definitely aid in the growth of the Bullet train's patronage. Best to implement projects with minimum viable chunks of 200-300 KMs. Like Bangalore-Mysore , Hyderabad - Vijayawada, Hyderabad-Nagpur, Vijayawada-Chennai, Chennai-Bangalore, Varanasi-Lucknow, Kanpur-Lucknow. This way its going to be operational much faster...Once the entire routes are formed, the bullet trains can be extended to long hauls...The reason being the so called mentioned routes would be difficult to connect with Airlines at such short distances.. Also Government would be wasting time and money on land acquisition as its best to use the current rail routes..

Rail network divided in three planes.

Second is business rail network up to 800 km handled by Bullet train, speed from 250 to 300 kmph. This rail network is to promote business and will mot be cheaper.

Once Mumbai to Ahmedabad bullet train is started and super successful. The engineering expertise and structural engineering capability would be within the country and building a new corridor would be much faster.
If a land acquisition problem could be solve faster and some legislation is made around it . On average it would take 3-4 years to finish one corridor .
With growth in Indian economy and a focused govt at centre will ensure that these goals are achieved before 2041.
How many of us would believe in 2010 that UP will have multiple expressways and top notch development projects . It was a distant dream . So we should hope that a good politician should continue to run a country to achieve these goals .

Operation and maintenance of Bullet train net work demands a large number of dedicated highly technically skilled, trained, healthy, staff who are always alert and focussed. There is no room for Chalta-Hai attitude in a train system that travels at 350Km/hour.
In my humble opinion training that large work force is a formidable task. We lack the safety culture and mindset Japanese have successfully demonstrated for over 60 years. Punctual to 0.1 second with no accident history. China had so many fatal accidents when they initially started their bullet train system. We do not want that.
Building the net work is the easy bit. Developing and maintaining the workforce required for Bullet train system is the most critical in my view and my biggest concern. Hope the selection and training of the staff has already commenced. Railway University in Gujarat is a great initiative by the present Government. Our youth must develop the safety mindset of the Japanese first before we even dream of travelling in the luxury of bullet trains.

Mumbai Nagpur High Speed rail will be finished before all the other HSR (except MAHSR). I don't think it will take 2051 for the line to be operational.
The DPR has already been submitted. Land acquisition which is a major issue for any project in India won't be a problem for this project as most of it lies along the Samruddhi Mahamarg (Mumbai Nagpur expressway). Also the MVA is pushing the centre to focus on this project.
The only hindrance will be the Kasara ghat section.
I think 2035 is a reasonable date for this project to start.
Also I think for MAHSR it would take 2028 or 2030 to be constructed.
Most of the lines shown in this videos have a very high budget (1lakh-1.5 lakh crores). I have my doubts on how they would be funded.
