    DJI should make a 1inch sensor PTZ. they would own the market.

    Thanks for reviewing this product. I discovered the Honey PTZ camera a few months ago and definitely would like to see the 4K resolution. As you mentioned, the affordable infrastructure of 4K isn't quite there yet ( come on ATEM Mini and make a 4K switcher LOL) I've reviewed a few PTZ cameras on my channel as well ... AVKANS, BZB Gear, ZEEGOO, PTZ Optics - Just subscribed to your channel as well !!

      Do you mean Black Magic Design? i.e. the makers of ATEM Mini? They already have a 4K switcher, it's called ATEM 1 production studio 4K. Or did you mean for BMD to make a PTZ cameras?

      it looks like the Honey Optic and this camera from Avkans similar or the same. In one description, they even mention honeyOptic and it less expensive.

    I am finding it hard to find good examples of footage shot in 4K on Honey Optics PTX (or others really for that matter). I realize live streaming 4k footage can't be done but it just surprises me no one is reviewing the camera showing off its 4K capabilities except for a few short examples in worship/office areas which really doesn't show much for color range. If you know of any channels/videos I could check out let me know.

      The challenge I've had is actually capturing the full 4K feed in a useful way. I have a BlackMagic SDI to Thunderbolt three capture box coming today. I'm hoping that'll do the trick.

    • @wildcamnorth
      @wildcamnorth Před 2 lety

      @@Foundery Thanks for the reply. I am interested in a 4k PTZ to capture wildlife in my back yard so hope to dump off the 4K feed onto a hard drive. I would assume you are mainly using yours to stream and present in the church and online so I assume that creates problems trying to capture it at the same time. Remember, I am a greenhorn and learning all of this. Keep up the good work!

    • @Foundery
      @Foundery  Před 2 lety

      @@wildcamnorth I think you may want to look into something like this: amzn.to/3j1o30D. This lets you monitor your video feed and record directly onto SSD hard drives. No computer or other component needed. Just a good quality HDMI cable between the camera and the box. You then would need to use the included remote from the camera to control it. Might be worth considering.

    I really appreciate this video review. The sensor seems to be a whole lot better especially in color reproduction. I wonder how it does in low light? Just an FYI you stated that the hdmi and sdi connection can output full 4k, the cam has 3g SDI and cannot output 4k. Only the hdmi, usb c and network setup can output 4k.

    • @Foundery
      @Foundery  Před 2 lety

      Yes, you are correct about the SDI not doing 4K. Apologies about that. As for low light they do very good. Better than the other camera I reviewed for sure. I’m hoping they come out with there 30x zoom soon. That will be a great option for longer distances in lower light.

    I want to use it for band promotion and our live performances. Can I send audio from a mixer to the camera as the microphone. That way my laptop will capture synced audio and video?

    • @Foundery
      @Foundery  Před 2 lety

      You can, and I have a video about doing something similar. That said, others have commented on getting less than stellar audio quality from the cameras so that may be an issue.

    We have tried many cameras, including the Optics brand, but it seems the JVC cameras have taken care of the issue of Deep Blue colors not being reproduced as lavender with bad gradient steps. Have you tried your camera with deep blue colors? Thanks John

    • @Foundery
      @Foundery  Před 2 lety

    Hi love ur vids, can you give your top 5 ptz cameras for live streaming in churches under $/£1000

    • @Foundery
      @Foundery  Před rokem +2

      Not sure I have five. Currently I would recommend something in the FoMaKo range (amzn.to/3ONkfyO) or the AVKANS (amzn.to/3UlDjph) range. Preferably with NDI. That's probably it for under that price. 20x zoom is usually enough but you can go 30x if you want or your space is very large.
      You'll be mostly looking at HD not 4K also as that price, which for most people is just fine. Hope that helps.

      @@Foundery Hi thanks for your advice I listened and got myself a Fomako 20x but it doesnt have NDI. I want to use it as a part of my stream setup. Is there a way to do this whilst using an xbox controller to control it.
      I'm looking for an expensive camera control solution to use in the meantime whilst a save up for a camera control unit.

    We got those SMTAV cameras and it was the sadest decision we have ever made .. No support whatsoever no clear manuals if error or bugs came up ! you get stuck with cheap stuff that's all !

    • @Foundery
      @Foundery  Před 2 lety

      Sorry that happened. Yes, the downside to paying half of the name brand is support. The nice thing is the SMTAV setup is exactly the same as, say, PTZOptics. So anything you find in their support forums should work for you. I've heard people have even been able to upgrade their firmware with the PTZOptics firmware on those cameras.
      This is also what got me excited about HoneyOptics. They are a US based importer so they have people in the states you can talked to. So far I've found them to be very responsive yet still cheaper than a Canon or Sony.

      @@Foundery Maybe I will try them out ! I just checked their store ! they don't have a 30X NDI zoom ptz camera,we have a 30 meters conference room that the camera should cover ! any idea how to cover all that space with only a 20X zoom ? Thank for the reply.

      I also have the SMTAV 30x NDI HD version and also the SMTAV 20x 4K NDI model (actually exactly the same as the HoneyOptics model you do review here, only 1000 USD cheaper). I find them so simple to operate and they are sold under so many brands that you find support anywhere on the internet when you start doing some searching on Google.

    Is it better to have a PTZ at church than a mirrorless camera?

    • @Foundery
      @Foundery  Před 2 lety

      It really depends on your needs. A PTZ with good optics will get you good quality and you can move it remotely. So depends on how important moving it is to you :)
