As someone with no 4, 5, or 6 star characters, trying this out last night, I was quickly humbled about how difficult Swain was with my three star only characters. But I think it's better than Lissandra, that's for sure!
@@Morfe02 I beat him with Asol but it was quite tricky, basically hoping for early low cost Invokes and then the sisters for life steal. Also I got Zoe so that helped.
Since you only get 5 rewards from Swain, clearing him with aggro decks or counter healing works the best. Jinx,Samira,Volibear and Swain himself can clear all city breakers turn 1, its free after that. Nami,Sett,Morgana,Aatrox and Kayne can stall for lifesteal and heal to full over the rounds. I did it with Jinx,Sett,Nami,Kayne and Morgana. All at least 3 star lvl 20 and Jinx was 5* with 6* power. Edit: If u want it easy, reroll for the urumi shield power specifically, the healing on spells guarantees to stay full life once you have a board going. Since you will get all rerolls back after loosing the first encounter, you can even fish for it. Takes some time but does the job ^^
Gwen is the good middle option, agro with lifesteal. You gotta get some good powers and/or spellshield for her since any stuns ruins her. I've only beaten swain for 3 star gwen untill now, with the rally relic, overwhelm and 1+ spell damage, though i almost lost to stuns, even when i had amazing starpowers. Took me 4 try's to beat it with her.
I know I might be asking a stupid question here but I dont see how Volibear con reliably clear all city breakers in first round even with like SFG and DOS cuz Im assuming that ull probably need to summon Volibear for that and u should need at least 2 turns for that (1 to set up the board with followers and sigils and 1 to summon Volibear himself) so can u explain how? (Im a 1 month old newbie and dont even have Volibear yet but I watched a lot of gameplay)
@@manvuquang3761 5* Volibear with SFG is 4 mana at start.2X-2 from the plunder relic's makes him cost 5. He has a spell that gives you 2 sigils and a draw for 1 mana. Provided you can trigger plunder and have the spell you can get him down turn 1 ^^ Yeah its specific but to beat Swain you cant play anything regular.If u dont get a follower on game start power, lose the first fight and reroll again.This only works that way and i didnt even try without another set up. Voli also gets the +4 health as his first upgrade, so you shouldnt have to worry about stalling for 1 turn, if you cant get him down at the start.

@@jerianaleonarcturus6759 and if you dont have any healing between rounds you can legit just die from nexus pings. and if the npc get attack token round 1.... and you draw bad OH BOY... and the first 1 i always encounter is the one that when my unit are damaged they can't block :) which is BS with all that ( i know its end game content. but i still have no maxed any champ. and im out of adventures except liss and swain) (also add to the fact that its kind of RNG to get epic items)
people need to realise that those 5 star aventures are tailored for endgame decks, meaning max level 6* characters. The real problem for me is the speed at which you can unlock 4+ stars, it's waaaay to slow, i played everyday since constellations and i have no 4 stars yet. Maybe bad luck but it feels really grindy.
You can actually do it with somethin like 3 star Aatrox or Gwen buut it's pretty much hard mode lol. But at least you will get those sweet Swain fragments
One useful power is the -1 attack to all enemies. It applies before the stat increase meaning all one attack enemies have 0 attack. This ended up saving me because enemies with one attack won't attack at all which includes the 1/3 enemies in the Jhin encounter that deals 2 on attack. I won when I lucked out later on when I got 2 of that power that duplicates champion while Jinx also had an item that duplicates herself which ended up summoning like 8 Jinxes whenever I play one. I also had the power that units with power 5+ strike. This was a 3 star Jinx run.
just cleared it using Samira Oath of champions combo, is basically ASol but more easy to pull of sometimes as you just need Samira turn one, no extra cards needed. It wasn't that bad tbh, sustain of course is an issue, but you can play the game normally, not like Ms. Lissandra with the +3 cost and unavoidable entombs
I think honestly one thing i'd balance with this adventure is the CityBreakers are granted vulnerable other than that it is honestly quite balanced (for strong decks) in terms of fun and difficulty
Tried it yesterday with lvl 23 4 star aurelion first time, got aphelios, severum carried that whole run. Literally the loop was taking nearly my entire health bar in damage, healing it back up with a huge life steal attack, then repeat the process next fight

Disarm works amazing on this adventure. The power that gives -1 atk. It procs before the units get the 50% stat buff. So it helps reduce so much potential damage. Although yes the tough nexus helps a lot too.
Adventure was super easy with Gwen, Use Full build/Spellshield, The level up and Rally, and Luden's tempest. Gwen heals you so much so you can use health bar as a resource.
I wish they do adventure specific powers, maybe vs swain you get an option to heal your nexus every fight or cancel the first skill or spells every fight, or something, just for this adventure
I know people have been asking for Hard Mode, but I'd honestly just prefer new 3.5 star difficulty adventures. ASol and above feels like you're not actually getting to play a deck and need to either be completely maxed out or get insane synergies to have a chance. Swain is the worst one so far, where you take unavoidable damage each match and can realistically lose before getting to turn 3.
@@QuartzJones agree The problem IS the difficult curve, meaning you can't beat 4 5 6 stars Runs without a good combo since the first power and first Game At least A.Sol you can make It but you have like ZERO help in thouse fights so you need 6 stars or a lot of lucky And at least Swain is more short than A.Sol and Lissandra

I did manage to beat him with 4 Star Jinx, but every game felt stressful because I was one bad turn from dying, or losing so much HP that I would have no chance in the next match. If I didn't get lucky and draw Jinx on curve every single time, I would have had no chance of winning.
Since I played this adventure many MANY times to be able and find a way to beat this and one of the best ways is either using turret plating or the heal 5 at start of game and the disarmed power the one that give -1 on all enemies is broken , since Most of the enemy units wont have that crazy attack or the best and ny favourite which is , just highroll lmao
I just beat it with ekko four starts and i think Swain its hard but actually fun, i never feel "Oh no, there's nothing i can do" like Lissandra With Swain I feel that there are more ways to play with the only condition being to take more into account the life of your nexus.
I manage to get it on day 2 with 4 star jinx, with luden, stash, plunder cost reduce and a bunch of lucky powers, this adventure is hard but fun if you can stabilise the citybreaker
You also rally from galio. Congrats on getting a Viktor for more than 2 seconds. I concur, this is much more fun than Liss. Too bad, we have 5 runs to cap Swain and 16 for Liss
I've only beaten it with ASol so far, but...I dunno, the fact that you need early game and also to heal to full every game feels a bit rough. Not as rough as some of Lissandra's encounters (looking at you, bird), but it seems to be that same "get going in the first few turns or you're done" style. At least that's the impression I got. Aside from that, the Minotaur Reckoner's the only encounter that felt anti-fun in the same way as Rimetusk and Trapper, which is a positive.
its as i feared. only adventure that will be added will only be increasingly difficult to justify selling bundles and making a pve mode p2w. wont be long until we have 10 star adventures which needs you to buy 200$ bundles to get past the first encounter.
I was having some difficult times during the first few trys until Morgana just said heyyyy look at me bruh. Pass it through on the first try 😂😂😂 Locking down enemy cards while sustaining with morgana’s life steal is just unfair. Although it takes longer to pass since Morgana need some time to start up but it was insanely easy. I will admit that it was quite difficult at first, but it got progressively easier once you know the deal. It was definitely possible to pass with three star champs. (Yasuo with Hold it, two stun every round) Having good powers and suitable champion matters a lot. Although one thing that I was really disappointed about was since the developers said that it was an expansion of the VI’s adventure. So I was expecting a story arc to deepen the LoR world. But there’s absolutely no dialogue, nothing at all. Even Lissandra got a few lines at the end of her adventure. I personally really enjoyed the Miss fortune’s 2 star quest. It was quite fun seeing her interacting with Yasuo. LoR did such a great job introducing the cards and lore. Like Astrox’s darkin war, Lissandra and the watchers. It was such an intriguing side of story that I never knew from lol. In my opinion, it is such a wasted opportunity of not having dialogues and lore during these world adventures. I would strongly recommend having a storyline for connecting these world adventures. The league world is so humongous and not utilizing it just seems so unfitting. Off the top of my head I can think of having a quest of defeating the watcher with Lissandra or fighting against Xolaani with Aatrox. I hope riot will explore on those.
Yesterday i watched norra vs lisandra and today i defeated her with viego for quest. ty Snuuy for giving me hope that she is not that bullshit also i fear swain now instead of her lol.
I managed to cheese swain fight with warning shots with two 50% chance of duplication, 53 casts later and he was dead Unlike lissandra i feel like hes a lot easier to cheese against
I just won with Gwen 3 Star Level 30. I gotta say, it was quite Easy, especially with the tough Nexus. But i can Imagine that other champion will cry bitter tears.
This seems way better than Lissandra. The enemies are strong, but it's not RNG strength. You know ahead of time what the general challenge is so you only have to deal with the RNG of the card game.
Beat it first try with Jhin (Nexus strike+riptide+ludens), got Morgana with double stats as my supporting champ and found the node that lets you buy temporary mana gems on round one. Those three free city breakers are nasty, though.
This is quickly starting to feel like a "create a problem, sell a solution" thing, which makes me glad I quit out of LOR ages ago and now just enjoy watching content.
I get the feeling but I don't feel compelled to buy anything, like 0I've looked up the Yasuo constellation and new relic and everything feels like overkill since I've beaten Lissandra first try with tempest blade and double everfrost, which are quite easy to get. And if I struggle too hard on Swain I can just look up on CZcams, someone is bound to post a vid with weaker champs/relics.
i don't see how you'd come to that conclusion...there's nothing that they're selling thats required to beat this mission, and the mission itself is quite manageable on its own. its tough, for sure, but its also advertised as being tough, its a 5* adventure...
@@sillyking1991 Well people are more likely to get relics and shards when they release 5* rather than more easy stuff but it doesn't feel oppressive at all, however people who struggle/don't know that you can beat any adventure with any character will be tempted. Also ngl I've seen Swain's relic and it looks custol made for his own adventure, because his cards aren't really about draining health usually.

I guess I'm just coming from similar games where you can pay a cost up front and gain all content for free merely through skill and effort alone, where it's balanced less in favour of gamba for several different currencies to power up. Seeing a harder adventure and seeing a content creator who's well versed in the game barely getting by at times with a champion that he spent a lot of money on to get 6* ability, it's off-putting to say the very least. I think I'll leave it up to content creators and people who played for ages or threw down the wallet; I'll stick to similar indie games. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge fan of cosmetics in league, I'm an adult who understands businesses need to make profit, so I'll spend on those because they don't impact my progress, and I'd buy cosmetics (champion skins, boards etc) in lor, but I draw the line when it comes to buying progress (buying it straight up or being locked out of content for long periods of time, not because of my skill but because of RNG).
My personal take is Lissandra is meant to be for control/mid-late game champs and Swain is meant for heavy aggro and early game champs This theory immediately crumbles because Jax feels unwinnable on this adventure

Still of the opinion Liss is more fun, you're not forced into either drafting hella lifesteal or playing a cheap champ with Turret plating, and every single fight isn't the exact same with very small variations in cards, I do also think it's very misleading to have Liss and Swain ranked the same, Liss is not on the same level of difficulty as Swain

those 3 city breakers seem like they can be BRUTAL if you can't neutralize them quickly.

I like this encounter, chosing the right relic really heal, like the make your nexus tough
Leblanc with 3 Skirmisher's Blade is my go-to for massive cheese. Get an Undying effect on her, and it's GG.

3 star Yasuo cleaned this up first try for me. Although i did have some good powers to help
I cleared it with Yasou as well, but I had healing Item on Kata so had almost infinite sustain as long as I don't reach 0 HP

Citybreaker 2/8 is insane so hard to kill
Even tho Swain is really hard, I didn't feel even close as much frustrated, as I felt when playing against Lissandra

lifesteal was always insane in PoC most enemies cant 1 tap u so a single high power lifesteal unit makes u almost immune 🤣

I just won with Gwen 3 Star Level 30. I gotta say, it was quite Easy, especially with the tough Nexus. But i can Imagine that other champion will cry bitter tears.
This seems way better than Lissandra. The enemies are strong, but it's not RNG strength. You know ahead of time what the general challenge is so you only have to deal with the RNG of the card game.

Beat it first try with Jhin (Nexus strike+riptide+ludens), got Morgana with double stats as my supporting champ and found the node that lets you buy temporary mana gems on round one. Those three free city breakers are nasty, though.
yeah very hard adventure so far i only beat it with Asol with 4 stars :(
This is quickly starting to feel like a "create a problem, sell a solution" thing, which makes me glad I quit out of LOR ages ago and now just enjoy watching content.
I get the feeling but I don't feel compelled to buy anything, like 0I've looked up the Yasuo constellation and new relic and everything feels like overkill since I've beaten Lissandra first try with tempest blade and double everfrost, which are quite easy to get. And if I struggle too hard on Swain I can just look up on CZcams, someone is bound to post a vid with weaker champs/relics.
i don't see how you'd come to that conclusion...there's nothing that they're selling thats required to beat this mission, and the mission itself is quite manageable on its own. its tough, for sure, but its also advertised as being tough, its a 5* adventure...
@@sillyking1991 Well people are more likely to get relics and shards when they release 5* rather than more easy stuff but it doesn't feel oppressive at all, however people who struggle/don't know that you can beat any adventure with any character will be tempted. Also ngl I've seen Swain's relic and it looks custol made for his own adventure, because his cards aren't really about draining health usually.
@@sillyking1991bffr i could beat lissandra with almost the entire roster at 2/3 stars and this adventure is near impossible for 90% of the champions without constellations, they very obviously are trying to get people to buy bundles
I guess I'm just coming from similar games where you can pay a cost up front and gain all content for free merely through skill and effort alone, where it's balanced less in favour of gamba for several different currencies to power up. Seeing a harder adventure and seeing a content creator who's well versed in the game barely getting by at times with a champion that he spent a lot of money on to get 6* ability, it's off-putting to say the very least. I think I'll leave it up to content creators and people who played for ages or threw down the wallet; I'll stick to similar indie games.
Don't get me wrong, I am a huge fan of cosmetics in league, I'm an adult who understands businesses need to make profit, so I'll spend on those because they don't impact my progress, and I'd buy cosmetics (champion skins, boards etc) in lor, but I draw the line when it comes to buying progress (buying it straight up or being locked out of content for long periods of time, not because of my skill but because of RNG).

My personal take is Lissandra is meant to be for control/mid-late game champs and Swain is meant for heavy aggro and early game champs

Highly doubtful. The burn is so much that you need those extra stats. Tried it with my most reliable 3 star: Jinx and it was just too much.
I did all 5 with Yasuo, Gwen, Nilah, Morgana, Nidalee 3* no epic relics.

yea i dont think the swain is posible without 6 star champs . most players will never have 6 star champion so for me it looks too dificult and useless
I beat swain couple of times, and yes, very frustated to play against and not fun

Still of the opinion Liss is more fun, you're not forced into either drafting hella lifesteal or playing a cheap champ with Turret plating, and every single fight isn't the exact same with very small variations in cards, I do also think it's very misleading to have Liss and Swain ranked the same, Liss is not on the same level of difficulty as Swain

Swain is really tough unless you take your most busted champs
