In the UK when this come on we say, " Alice, Alice who the ***f is Alice?"
Very childish but we do it anyway. It works for us, as a nation.
we do the same in denmark
Not only do we do that in the UK, but we also use the same phrase with other names, for instance, we might say "who the F*** is @pinball1970?" :)
All thanks to English comedian, Roy Chubby Brown. 😂
It's a very fun version.
Not just in the UK or in Denmark. In Sweden too. When we are on holiday in the sun and, now it doesn't matter if it is in the Spanish Canary Islands, or in the Greek Islands, or in the Mediterranean, this song is ALWAYS played. With the addition then the band, the troubadour stops and awaits the crowd's roar, "Who The F*** Is Alice". So it is very common that Scandinavian bands and troubadours who play at the sun holiday hotels always play this one. Or there's always someone from the audience roaring, play Living next door to Alice. 😂🤣
These songs are the kind that lift your spirits just by listening to them.
And Ladies... If you really liked the original Smokie singer from the 70's, Chris Norman's voice, (He is the one who sings in this music video and the best Smokie singer of all time) then you must listen and watch the video with Suzi Quattro and the Smokies first singer, Chris Norman and the song Stumblin In. There, Chris's raspy and beautiful voice really comes to its best.
Agree, I listened to the song "Stumblin' In" so many times. Chris' voice and Suzi's smile ... 🥰
The woman talking to Smokie was waiting 24 years for Alice to leave. 😂
I had a crush to Chris Norman, the lead singer, loved his raspy voice, his hair and his SMILE. There is also a great duet with the rock lady Suzie Quatro, Stumblin in.In Germany, Smokie was number one in the singles charts for 14 weeks in 1977 (nine weeks with Living Next Door to Alice), and another five weeks with Lay Back in the Arms of Someone.
Yes, for example Chris and Suzi live in a TV show czcams.com/video/dLmJSxDrKBM/video.html
GREAT song!
Love your reactions Smokie had many hits including Don't Play your Rock'n roll to me, Mexican Girl, I'll meet you at Midnight, If You Think You Know How to Love Me, For a Few Dollars more, all wonderful songs. Chris Norman the lead singer done a beautiful duet with Suzi Quatro called Stumbling In a big hit and a great listen.
smokie is and was very popular in Denmark and in Europe and they have made many hits
I remember going to see Smokie in the Seventies. Great band!
Thanks Ladies. Song from my era from a band who come from the same county as me in the UK. (Yorkshire England). We loved them.
Hi Ladies. I'm sending you a small list of songs that Smokie had in the UK during the Seventies.
In 1976 they had a hit with ' I'll meet you at Midnight ' it got to no11 . And from 1977 they covered a song called ' Needless and Pins 'and that reached no10.
Then from 1975 they had a no8 hit with ' Don't play your rock ' n ' Roll to me ' . From 1977 they had a no12 hit with ' Lay back in the arms of someone ' and the last from my little list is a song called ' If you think you know how to love me' and that was from 1975 and reached no 3 in the UK charts.
Best wishes.
From the 70s. Check out tumbling in with them and Susie Quatro
YES!! 🥰 And please react to a version with their perfomance on video, not just displaying a CD cover picture. This version is the one I like best czcams.com/video/dLmJSxDrKBM/video.html
I have known and liked this song for many years, and even use a wallpaper that has it, audio only, on my Wallpaper Engine; however, until Today, I had never known by whom it was sung, and somehow it never occurred to me to Google or CZcams it, so, thank you.
Their best bangs were, ‘Don’t Play Your Rock and Role to Me’, ‘If You Think You Know How to Love Me’, ‘Something’s Been Making Me Blue’ and ‘Lay Back in the Arms of Someone’. Please try them : )
This was ALL over the radio back in the day. It lasted for weeks. I'm surprised you have never heard of it before.
As soon as it started, I remembered the song. Never had a clue who made it, but I do remember it.
The original line-up in the 70s was
Chris Norman, vocals
Alan Silson, lead guitar
Terry Uttley, bass guitar
Pete Spencer, drums
The band released their first LP "Pass it around" under their first name "Smokey", but then had to change their name to "Smokie" because there was trouble with the singer Smokey Robinson.
That brings back a lot of memories of a time that was unique. The time of my youth, with a lot of crazy ideas and nonsense in my head.
The original albums from back then are in my cupboard. I keep them like a treasure.
Check out the songs by Suzie Quatro and The Sweet, then you'll know what was going on with us in the 70s and early 80s.
Have fun
Greetings from Germany
The Lady

I've just put listen to Roy chubby then saw 200 others said same 😂 deleted it 😂
this was a popular song here in Sweden during the 70's, so popular that I have a "swedish danceband"-cover version (with Swedish translated lyrics), on an old lp lying around, by the maybe not so famous group "Bingos".
My mum's sister my aunt lived next to us for 24 years and more and yep her name was Alice.
Cool
I went to a smokie concert and everyone was screaming "who the f**k is alice." 😂😂
Very popular song in Norway in the 70s. Smokie is a UK band I believe
In the Netherlands we had a Sanger (Peter Koelwijn) he covered in Dutch, and after the “living next door to Alice”we sang”who the f…k is Alice”!
It was verry populair in the ‘80-‘90 with some beer 🤣🤣🤣,but the original of Smokey sounds the best but still I sing our lines with it🙏🏻
Thnx for bring back that memory😘
You're welcome
My Mum loved this song.
Ps you should introduce Lulu to the righteous brothers unchained melody.

Thank you so much for watching
Might I suggest you take the time to listen to Wild Wild Angels, also by Smokie?
Very good, I hope they react to Smokie - needles and pins, it is a classic of theirs
You really need to check out Judee Sill. She was amazing. Jesus Was A Crossmaker is a good start. Her story is incredible. I just watched a documentary on her called Lost Angel. Very emotional film.
From Europe like 50 years ago
Is this Alice from wonderland or is it Alice Cooper? ........................ ;-)
Smokie were together with The Sweet one of the most successful poprock bands in Europe in the 70s. I like them!
@@MusicandCatLover-vc6jb Alice from Alice's Restaurant.
Chubby Brown's version seems to be more popular
Drm Hook also had a version.... But You really need to hear the uncensored version. It was a staple song at a little margarita bar in Puerto Vallarta during spring break for years.

Maybe you could react to stumblin in by Chris Norman and Suzie quatro
If you like this one you will love another hit of theirs, "I'll meet you at midnight". This is a link from their official website.

Who the f*** is Alice. Ah memories.
Everything about this sounds American but they are a UK band
Hot chocolate, Emma 🇬🇧🇬🇧👍👍
Hello can you react to forever young alphaville
Played the wrong video. You needed to play the adult version.
Another great song with Smokie lead singer Chris Norman, that he also performed as a duet with US rock star Suzi Quatro is "Stumblin' In". I like this 1978 live version best: czcams.com/video/dLmJSxDrKBM/video.html
May be I should propose it for a reaction video?
Or would this one with Suzi Quatro and band be better for a reaction czcams.com/video/iMZEy-2iztE/video.html ?
Alice? Who the fk is Alice, is a famous chant to this song in the UK.
Alice Alice, who the fuck is Alice?
Who the **** is Alice?
Alice..who the f is Alice
Who the f*** is Alice?
I personally disaprove but i cave under peer pressure. My apologies ladies.
You should have listened to the better version alice who the fuck is alice
I guess it's a personal preference, which version is considered better. I like both, the bitter sweet emotional original, and the newer one, wild and more drive.
