KVA Linth | CO2: capture, utilisation and storage (CCS)

In order to achieve the national climate targets, the CO2 produced in waste incineration plants is to be captured in future and then used or stored. At KVA Linth in Niederurnen/GL, the foundations are being laid for the first capture plant in Switzerland. A CO2 competence centre is being operated at this site to develop this pioneering project and to build up know-how that can be used throughout the country. The Centre for Sustainable Use of Waste and Resources (ZAR) Foundation is in charge.
