What about life after recovery? Everyone seems to miss that part. What are the long term consequences of this. Does it impare any flexibility, or movement?

Short answer yes. Also what he hasn't mentioned in this is anyone like myself who has had a lower spinal fusion is 80% risk of si joint problems, which happened to me and 12 months ago I got my left S.I joint fused where I was informed unfortunately within 2yrs now your left side is done your right S.I joint will go. I'm booked for my right S.I joint fusion surgery 23rd May 2024 around 12 months since I got my left S.I joint fused.
You do lose some movement over time. Hope this helped

@@PRCOMhow did it go, Sir? Hope you’re finding relief. Back issues suuuuckkkk.
Had XLIF done on L4-L5-S1 in May 2023. Just did my first SI injections yesterday. Luckily they did both side rather than spacing them out and having to go through the ordeal and traveling twice. I’m figuring it will lead to fusions of both. I had this pain prior to my lumbar fusion and it has only worsened. Don’t get my wrong I needed the fusion. Doc is supposed to be one of the best around Oklahoma and the country (and his native Puerto Rico). He said my discs were like scooping out cottage cheese so they were of zero stability anyhow.
I’ve been through lumbar injections, RF ablations, physical therapy, massage, $9000 zero gravity massage chair, hot tub therapy, chiropractic, painkillers, muscle relaxers, nerve pain meds, all of the things…back pain suuuckss. Changes your life and quality of life. Changes the way you treat people, sadly, despite trying so hard to avoid it. Changes the way you think, causes you to avoid activities, vacations, travel, job changes, etc. Effs with your mental state.
Hoping I find relief and get my life back.
