Yet another thorough job. I love the fact that you and Chris take great care to make sure that your cars are in the best condition they can be before selling on.
Silicone grease on slide pins, copper grease can seize the caliper as it drys out. 👌
Maybe but I've always used copper without any issues. Better than nothing as seems to be the current school of thought.
@@stephenricketts7764 I have had it happen before, not long actually after a recent brake job. BMW do/did tell you not to use anything in their service manuals. Have a google about the subject in general 👍

You guys really brought this one back from the brink! Could have easily been scrapped but after the SRUK treatment its now a cracking car that has years of life left in it. Should give someone great service in the future.

I use dinotrol on cranes offshore and you are right it’s really good stuff, it protects everything. Someone going to get a good focus there

Now this focus definitely belongs on this channel salvage rebuilds if you didn’t find this car it would of got scrapped but you have given it a new life I love these sorts of videos and rebuilds

The Ford Focus has been a model that can look good in different styles. That is a lovely example of the Focus.
so many people ive heard say things like "my car hasnt got to 100k yet so im not doing timing yet" they forget that there is a time limit too as rubber can perish over time. so its nice that you do these things regardless, brakes would have been fine but im sure you feel better when you come to sell it knowing its done and safe. keep up the good work and nicely done !!!

One of the things I love about watching your channel is the care you take in the process of bringing vehicles back to mint condition, what a transformation.

Not just your perfect, reliable work, but a shrewd buy when you opted to take it on. Buy right and sell well, this must be a great one for the business. *Top tip:* Use silicon grease for the caliper slider pins as the mineral grease can deteriorate the rubber inserts. This applies to all instances where the grease contacts with rubber components.

I have a mate that has taught me a lot about cars but he listens to my theories about car and motorbike faults He is a time served mechanic. I so appreciate that. I served my time as a time served fitter. No matter how much you know, every day is a school day. No-one knows everything. I love the way you ask for help in your vids.

Hi Rob and Chris, when you showed us that car the first time, yeah it looked terrible. When you started telling us all about it I knew that is was completely fixable and that you two were going to do a perfect job of it. Thanks once again for the best content. When I am at work and I look at my phone and see a notification that you guys have uploaded another video I instantly cheer up and know that when I get home I have something awesome to watch. This channel has helped me Alot im on my 7th car now purchased a 60 plate focus 1.6 petrol titanium 93k on the clock hpi clear with a dent on the front wing and door paid £300 for the car purchased a door and wing in colour for £70. Put it online today for £1150 and i have just taken a deposit over the phone. sold for £1100. Thanks rob and chris for this great channel love the fact that you boys keep it real all the time! 👍🏼

Dear Rob & Chris, what a lovely Mk2! I’ve been a devoted Ford fan since I started driving back in 1971 and have had almost every model they’ve made since then and learnt so much from your videos. I’ve just sold my Mk2 Focus and bought a very nice Mk3 on a 12 plate. If you can get hold of a crashed one I would love to follow the rebuild with you! 🙏👍 stay safe lads! 😊
I can't bring myself to buying newer than a Mk2, had 4 now and contemplating another Mk1 👍
Great to see the Focus getting attention lads. Talking from experience, on any car that's just been sat, check and double check *all* the rubbers; tubes/pipes, gators, belts and such-like. They'll appear in good condition until 200-300 miles time.
On a different note, just wondering if you found any debris under the plastic engine cover _(especially after seeing how much had been blown off underneath using the leaf blower)_ - I had acorns, leaves and other crud, thanks to the local squirrels 😂😂
