In 2009 it was completely overgrown and the visit of the ruin gifted me a lot of scratches from the surrounding blackberries an stitches from the nettles. But it was great to be there!! I loved the view to Tantallon Castle an the shoreline. I have been in Scotland five times and have visited around 160 castles, abbeys, towers and ruins. It was my favourite hobby. I have done some small research on an ansestor that came from scotland and I have a few ansestors who lived in Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland in 1600s One of them is marked down as died at cult castle of Midlothian. But when i search to find info about the castle its like it didnt exist. could the name have been changed over time? I know cult castle sounds terrible but Iv got to know where to go from here.
