Most Americans would have been scratching their heads when you were talking about the London Bridge because they would have been seeing the Tower Bridge in the distance. Most Americans think the Tower Bridge IS the London Bridge, glad you cleared that up afterwards. Loved the photos of Shoreditch area and Brick Lane too. Having been in London since January I have enjoyed it while not in lockdown but I’ve finally been able to get permission to go home which I am looking forward to this weekend. I’ve noticed as you said that the downtown area is so much quieter than it was pre-lockdown and it’s pretty clear that companies have seen that things still worked when people were working from home during lockdown and there’s little reason not to continue things that way. Imagine they don’t need the huge rent for the offices. So much less traffic now, less pollution too. Really enjoyed this video!

I lived in England for several years in 2000. To all Americans contemplating the move, England is not America. You have a really nice updated kitchen. You don’t find that everywhere. You don’t even find mixer taps everywhere. The house that I lived in had a cute back garden and that was the draw for me. But the second bedroom was the same size as my American walk-in closet. So that’s pretty much what I used it for. There are things I absolutely loved and miss about living there but sometimes I felt like someone had thrown me into 1970.

Yeah, you experienced all these things in great quantity and spent all the money you earned in the prime earning years of your life. Then, one day you are unable to work and because you spent all the money you made on this you'll likely spend the rest of your years in relative poverty. Yeah, life experiences are important, but you have to draw a line somewhere! All the big money you make in these places is totally negated by the cost of living. JUST NOT WORTH IT IMO.

You put things off for a day and the next thing you know, it's a hundred years later." That leads me to my "story": I moved to TN 22 years ago and you know what? It feels like I moved here yesterday. Oh and the music? Right out of a 1950s Hollywood movie. Despite the fact that I'm on 2 acres, if you saw my living room... Well, it looks like an arboretum. I've just moved all the tropicals indoors; that's the fig , orange, and lime tree; the Arbequina olive; the avocado tree, the tea tree plant (Camellia Sinensis that produces tea leaves for tea); and the Piper Nigra that gives me pepper seeds to grind for pepper. Then there's the geraniums, the variegated and trumpet jades and some other cold-weather intolerant plants. (Yeah. We do I put them all!) In front of my kitchen window there's a four-foot by seven foot moving metal shelf where the orchids are and the trays growing lettuce, spinach and sometimes, radishes. All this in a house that's 1, 200 square feet. Jus proof that where there's a will there's usually a lawyer. :)

I'm glad for you...I've told people that I'm one of the least affected people in the world by this virus mess, because I already worked out of the house, when I go fishing, I'm out in the middle of nowhere, in the woods, and when I play golf, I play late in the evening, alone, on a deserted course. I'm basically a hermit - and I'm looking to move even further out in the sticks...too many people around here; I'm the opposite of you - I like the country.

You are making the right choice-don't let your guard down. My Dad, who's 73, with COPD was in the hospital with pneumonia twice this summer, both times he was tested for COVID19 and tested negative, but the 2nd time he was in the ICU, he caught it at the hospital. They tested him going in, but didn't re-test him, despite his having been in an ICU, where there were COVID19 patients. They sent him home infected, and of course he worsened within a couple of days--and then my Mom got sick...and a day or so later, we were all sick. We didn't think anything of cleaning up after Dad, because we assumed he was suffering from the pneumonia, brought on by his COPD we weren't thinking contagions. My husband, who's 50, and asthmatic is now on a ventilator doing 100% of his breathing for him. My Dad, who's been back in the ICU for two weeks now is also on a ventilator, but he's only on 40% and might be weaned within a day or two. The doctor and nurses had thought that since my husband was significantly younger and healthier, he'd only need to be intubated for a day or two...that turned out not to be the case, they're no longer sounding confident and cheerful, now they're cautious and reassuring me that they are doing everything they can. Don't. let. your. guard. down.

We call them 'Walk in Wardrobes' generally speaking. Or a 'Walk in Cupboard" - I can't think of anywhere in Scotland that uses the word closet for what Shaun was showing. A closet is a small cupboard, so something that is only used for the likes of storing towels or bed linen and sometimes may even have a boiler in there for the central heating. I hope that helps.
