This one was tough. Never though bending staples would be such a process! Following along I show the best way I found to install the Radiator Support Seal.

My 68 6Cyl car came with this seal and had five staples in it

I used flat headed self tapping screws on mine

That is smarter, for sure. I was trying to keep it oe looking even though I have no intention of the car staying that way long term.

Ok, been 5 months since my comment. So I got my rubber seal from NPD and it included the staples. My core support don't have the staple holes, so I think I will mount it with small screws with little washers on the round head of screw. Will let you all know how that worked out. Been cold in Michigan but nicer days now to do the work. Cheers from Motown.

My understanding is that there were fan shrouds for the inline six originally but nobody reproduces them. I've been on the hunt for one too. It is also my understanding that only 6 cyl cars came with core support seal.

NPD does have the inline six fan shroud. Most, if not every, pictures I have seen of restored projects with the inline six didn't have one, so I moved forward without. In my research I found that only the 6 cyl and big block cars had the seal (no idea if that is right). Mine seems to warm up a bit during long stops so a shroud could have helped there. I ended up putting a SPAL low-pro electric fan on and it now stays solid at 185.

I got my universal fan shroud from Speedway motors. Fits good and took care of my overheating problem. Easy install with all the hardware you need. Took me 1/2 an hour. It is the chrome one.

Hello Brother! Nice job on the core support seal. Looks great. I have a 67 Big block and don't have the seal. I want it back on there more of a cosmetic cover as the support top is banged up and dented to to engine changes. Did you get it at CJ Pony or NPD? I can look it up I quess. Thanks for sharing. Love that inline 6. I have a 460 stuffed in mine. Take care, thanks for sharing. Cheers from Motown/Dearborn.

Thanks for watching! I got the support seal from NPD and it came with the staples. That was surprisingly hard but once I figured out the technique to bend the staple it turned out nice.

Just a post dated FYI. Any translucent paint like candytone etc will work. I have been using Honda motorcycle paint. Their blue and red is perfect.

Not an inline fan. But you're softening my heart. Lol. The engine bay looks so clean. I watch this video repeatedly because I enjoy your work.

Thanks! Appreciate the feedback. I would say I am not an inline fan either 😁. Eventually I will be dropping in a V8, but cant have it looking bad between now and then.
