Finally fixed the brakes on the 66 Mustang
zhlédnutí 3,4KPřed 2 lety
Finally fixed the brakes on the 66 Mustang
Glad you sorted out the brakes. I watched both videos on the brake booster project. My 66 Mustang Sprint is standard with linkage so manual brakes until I decide to do a cable clutch but I’m planning on a dual bowl system. Someone switched mine to DOT-5 but the kept the single bowl system. They work surprisingly well but single bowl could be a single point of failure.
Wow!! I’ve been without sound for 6 months now, this worked in my 2015 mkz!! thanks so much
Hello. Just fixed the same problem. The side with metal points should be contacted with metal body, it’s just a ground point and thermo contact. You don’t need replace thermo gaskets, when you do that, you just create downforce on transistor. I tried to push on transistor with finger without body, and it’s start working. Tried to solder it, and no luck, same, start working only with downforce. The problem inside of first transistor, just swap it with second one, and right now have sound, but sometimes front speakers out of work. So the problem is transistor, not thermo gaskets
Fuckin thieves. Break in and take nothing! Guess there were no guns or big bills. Left the checkbooks and dollar bills.
Exactly right. Didn't leave anything in the truck, thankfully
Thanks for the video. Doing all 4 corners Bilsteins on my 2021 6.7 hopefully this weekend if UPS plays nice. Did you lift your vehicle at all or place jack stands to complete? Did you remove tires?
Nope, the back is obvious and easy. The front, I just turned the wheels. The top nut on the front shocks is the worst part, but it isn't that bad. Good luck! I noticed a difference
I used flat headed self tapping screws on mine
That is smarter, for sure. I was trying to keep it oe looking even though I have no intention of the car staying that way long term.
Thank you. Your video saved me over $600. I was able to repair my 2013 Nav Amp in 2.5 hours.
Get to the point?!
🫡
@@WhitetailGarageI couldn’t agree with you more.
Really came here to see how you flush mounted them. Did you use the existing slots? Did you drill thru the case?
I used the existing slots. Probably would have been easier to just drill through.
Awesome video! Have a few questions. 1. CJ pony says the hardware for the dynacorn bracket is for 65-66. Does this matter if my motor is from a 67? 2. I’m new to all this stuff, how difficult was it to connect the wire from the breaker? Can I use any wire and where exactly do I connect it?
That bracket should be 65-68. You should be good from my understanding. Running the new harness and wiring was really simple. I would recommend getting all the pre-built harnesses. That made it really simple. Looks really original that way also.
How did you fix your door handle? Do we have to buy new? Or can we snap the pried out one back in?
Usually, it snaps back in. But sometimes the clips are broken and it won't. You may have to buy a new one. If you do, you may consider getting the passenger side door without the lock to replace it. Otherwise, get the Jimmi Jammers.
now let us know about the waterproofing and leakage from retrax
I haven't had any leakage issues.
My 94 has a driver side sag and rubbing taking bacon strips out of my tires on coilovers. Do you think these adjustable lower LCA would help me straighten it out.
Yep. Ideally, we all should do mini-tubs. But, yes, these will allow you to easily adjust your ride height with a 1/2in rachet.
I have a hard wired light and really liked the harbor freight lights. The current light only wants to work sometimes. Thanks for the upload.
Awesome video, what bulbs did you use for headlights?
I used the SEALIGHT H4/9003 LED Bulbs: www.amazon.com/dp/B071R3KTBB
Link is broken for some reason. I'm not sure why, but this is the pair I used. Hopefully, the link works again.
How did the retrax do with rain intrusion?
I haven't had any water issues with mine.
Less face and more lamp views would be more useful.
Thanks for the feedback. Keep ugly mug out of camera 👍😀
Got a tune up kit for the old assembly because I wanted to take it apart and understand carbs better because I have quite a few toys with them. It died in the yard pretty quick after firing it up the first time this season. I didn’t winterize it cuz I bought it during winter and just left it alone cuz it was running and spring was coming. I’ll have to push mow and then get it back together later, I have a couple other priorities in the way before I crack open the carb, I have it off for now and cleaned the outside anyways.
Good luck. Hopefully, it is quick to get it going again. These small engines hate the newer fuels. The fuel evaporates much quicker and leaves behind varnish.
Thanks Man!! Worked on my 2015 Lincoln MKC, I just coverd the tabs like the video.
Awesome video. I did a whole mod on my 3010 Trans also. Definitely looks good and is a good feeling knowing you do it yourself how you want it. I could send you pictures of mine. Some stuff that I found useful. On mine we use on the ranch and while hunting. Good job bud👍
Thanks! I completely agree. Knowing, you did the thing. From the ground up. With your own hands. That's a good feeling...
i watched the video that national did and they did all the back stuff first the moved to the front
Yeah, I started with the back, moved to the front, then back to the back, then back to the front, lol
What the USPS calls "Lost" everyone else calls "stolen".
Does that affect not getting cold air on the front vents? 🤔
This one was working but was doing the loud clicking.
It works! A little 20x120x2 milimeters thermo-pad is enough and fits perfect
Nice vid!!! Where did you get the quarter interior panel with speaker inserts from? I have a convertible as well and would like to add speakers to the rear too. Thanks
I cut those myself. Unfortunately, into the original panels, but there really isn't another place for the.
Beautiful car!!! Nothing like a classic 60s mustang!
Thanks!
I have had the Roll N Lock (vinyl over aluminum) on my truck (99 Dakota) for 24 years and it still looks good, not sure how the Retrax will hold up but my next truck (Tacoma) will get the same cover.
That is awesome. Yeah, I don't know how the previous owner treated this roll n lock. I struggled with it.
Im having same issue with my 66 ranchero, put power breaks on and proportining valve on and does what yours is doing. I adjusted the push rod several times n have same issue, ive adjusted both n still the same issue
I was really close to reaching out to the mfg of the master cylinder but found the push rod length to fix mine. You may consider reaching out to them.
Thank you Sir! it worked! no more annoying noise on my Mkx 2012.
Thank you for providing an informative video to a common issue we hunters have with these cameras. I was able to follow along and get myine to work again. Only notation I might add is on the back of the camera, the small screws are on the top and the larger screws are on the bottom. This will make a huge difference and possibly damage the cover.
I have a 68 Falcon with a 250 inline 6, i want to do an hei swap on it as well, i also like what you did with the electric fan. Im not too knowledgeable on wiring...any info on where you got the relay set up? I would like to do exactly what you did to mine...or do you think the igniter conversion for the points style distributor would be better? I don't have the money to drop on a DUI...so info on the relay setup and pigtail as well as the temp switch for the fan
I would recommend the distributor I got only if you are OK with a potential oil leak. Apparently it is common in the cheap distributors and not the DUI. If you are worried about stay with a stock look, then upgrade points and ignitor. If you are not, I would go with a DUI. You save money with the unit I bought, cheapo in Amazon. Works like a champ but leaks a small amount of oil. As far as the wiring, the most inexpensive direction is to source the parts separately. Get a 30amp relay and google a basic electric fan wiring diagram.
I did it, and it worked. Thanks save me alot of money. 😊
Thanks for your help. I just fixed my 2015 Navigator.
Thanks for the video! The '23's are no different. You can easily reach through the grill and clip the horn wires. Pretty stupid on Ford's part, but not surprising. The same empty stud is there on the firewall, so I'll take your approach. I hate all the dirtbags that make you have to do this sort of stuff.
Couldn't agree more!
Great video. I’m going to try this on my 2013 mkx.
Now I need you to fix all the other issues with my mkx. Haha
🤣
Didn’t work but I have no sound at all. Do you have a wiring diagram of the audio system?
so is there any water intrusion witht the retrax? seen some video with them leaking. leakage was coming thru the actual aluminum slats and all the way up the side. wondering if it was an instalation problem or the retrax itself. i live in oregon so having something water tight is important and can deal with a little bit near the tailgate.
Mine is water tight, but I am not dealing with snow. That could make a difference.
@@WhitetailGarage from experience.....all the retractable bed covers suffers from extreme weather ...ie snow...they tend to freeze and lock up....unless you park in a garage......and concerning 100% water tight ....no cover is waterproof except maybe a hard (solid piece) tonneau cover.
I just ordered the pads and am looking forward to trying this on the THX amp from our 2010 Lincoln MKS. The thing about broken parts is there is nothing to lose by trying to fix them.
Exactly! Good luck. I hope it resolves your issue!
Extremely disappointing that you didn't film any portion of actually working on the car floor. Talk talk talk about plans but not showing the wire brush work, applying paint, etc. Spinning around with the camera stick at the beginning of the video almost made me ill with motion sickness. Hint hint. During seat cover replacement - buy some lights for the garage. Video was so dark from 12:00 - 15:45 mark that I couldn't see what you were doing.
Well, I appreciate the feedback. The gopro doesn't do well in low light and I use that for the high speed. Sometimes it is hard to grab decent footage while hammering through the work. For me, these are not really "how-to" videos and more just what I worked on and my best to show what and how I did it. Basically if you were hanging out in garage with me.
Interesting video but the music is tedious and annoying.
Thanks for the feedback. At the time of editing this, I was still putting a lot of music in my videos. I have since backed off on that.
Would you be able to share part numbers for the connectors? Great idea.
Any 2 pin Deutsch connector pigtail will work. This is similar to what I used: a.co/d/f4XodoF
@@WhitetailGarage thanks so much.
25FT pounds seems off from what I was told. Is this for the HO motors? Mines a 302 roller from a f150 and I was told 20 ft pounds. Any input?
Not sure, 25 is what I found in my research. Perhaps that is the difference
Подскажите пожалуйста linkoln navigatir 2 , где расположен усилитель звука?
It is located down low in the center console under the dash. Below the stereo/cd player.
@@WhitetailGarage Спасибо ☕👍🏻
Could you have used the factory harness for the new headlights?
I could have used the factory harness as far as the connectors are concerned. However, I was worried about the draw on the original harness. Because of that, I added the relays and new harness. I separately added the anti-flicker modules just in case.
@@WhitetailGaragethanks for the video.
I had this same issue and fixed it with using items I had on hand. I used some 3M double sided tape and Mr Clean Magic Eraser Thin Sheets. They were the perfect thickness and have been holding up strong and not caused any issues. Hope this helps someone!
Thanks. I used some 3m double side tape I had lying around as well. Worked like a charm. Seems to be the same silicone material.
Interesting, I believe you need to have that thermal heat transfer in that location. If it is fixed, great! But it may not last if it gets hot with high volume.
How thick is the thermal pads you used?
The kit I bought came with three options ranging from 0.5mm to 1.5mm thick. I used the thickest pad.
I USED YOUR VIDEO TO REPAIR MY 2014 MKS AMP. WORKED LIKE A CHARM. THANK YOU, YOU SAVED ME A LOT OF MONEY. IT WAS A $10 FIX.
Does it have a ground wire?
No, it is a two wire circuit.
So Im not the only one that cant find his tools?😂
Nope 😁
@@WhitetailGarage I think they plot on me.😂
what is the gray and the orange.. on the new harness.
If I remember correctly, it is a temp sensor built into the MAF sensor that the oe computer doesn't use for this year mustang.
You've ever heard of the solvent dude that things need to be cleaned
It'll buff. It runs great, lol
