Thanks so much for the fantastic video tutorial! When I make the bottom half of the body, it starts to curl inwards with each row of single crochet I add in rows 4-6. Do you have any advice on how to keep it straight?
Don't worry, since you are keeping the stitch count the same it is supposed to curl up and create a pocket

I use a type of yarn called cashmilon. It's a blend of cotton and acrylic 💗

Closing at the end of the rows created a distinct seam at the back whereas crocheting in a continuous spiral created a seamless finish. If closing the rounds is what you prefer then you can do that also with this pattern, it will work well💗

For round 4 instead of doing 18sc you can do (1sc, 1sc, 2sc) *6 to get a stitch count of 24sc to make it slightly larger. Then you can continue making one sc in each stitch. You'll also have to adjust that height and make a few more rounds (maybe 12 or 13). If the wings seem too small you can make them larger by using dc in place of sc. If you want it even larger just continue to increase the starting circle in the same way. For example, in that case round 5 would be (1sc, 1sc, 1sc, 2sc) *6 to make 30sc. Hope that made sense ! Or you can also use a chunkier yarn and a larger crochet hook to make it larger using that same pattern.
