I need more of this man's story. I was in awe the entire time.
Never a dull moment!
Go to ymh. They have a few episodes with Brian. He's amazing.
Ryan Sicklers laugh will be a ring tone on my nueralink brain phone in 2050.
Imagine just going about your business and then, in your head only - out of the blue you hear the Sickler cackle 😂
Imagine being alone in the woods and hearing that shit 😂😂
You mean 2025.
I’m from the same areas as Brian. PG county, Maryland and DC. I knew all the places he named. And let me tell you, it really tells me a lot about him as a child. To be excited about going to a house in Suitland! For those of you who aren’t from here, Suitland is NOT a nice area, and it never was. My parents went to Suitland high and it was extremely rough back then and is now. A very high crime area. So to be excited about going there because it was the suburbs says a lot about his situation before that.
And throughout this whole story it just shows all the adults who failed Brian. The man just wanted to not have bugs crawl on him. He wanted to learn, be respected, trusted to be told things, and to get school supplies he needed. He didn’t want to work for free and see others reap the benefits. He also just wanted to be told what was going on. And it’s crazy to me that no one could see that that’s what the issues were. I hate when kids are just written off as being a problem child. I tutor kids now, and they have so many issues that are overlooked by parents and it’s sad.
I always knew that with that wisdom and quiet confidence Brian comes with, there's a wild story behind it. Super happy for his success, and hope he becomes a household name in comedy right up there with Chappelle, Segura, Burr, and of course you, Ryan!
Touch my night pants through the fence! Good morning all! I'm excited as always for another great cast!
Brian’s half hour is HILARIOUS
He was the clear stand out!!
Brian, I want so much more of your story, please!
Ryan, please have him on again. This guy has so much to tell.
Stories like this make me feel so grateful for my childhood
I hope that someday someone makes a comedy series about Brian Simpson’s life.
It could be live action or animation, either would work because he had such an unbelievable story.
10/10 would watch.
No…they wouldnt.
Brian's half hour special on Netflix is a must watch. Great episode.
By far one of the most touching and truthful ways to speak of your life. Nothing wrong with having a chip on your shoulder. Just don't let it get too heavy. Much love to the HoneyDew
I'm such a fan after catching Brian's special, so excited to see him on the Dew!
I relate to his early life and I feel him fighting the tears and I understand it. Brian needed love I needed love too and it’s heartbreaking knowing they’re are children going unloved everyday.
But look what they can become.
Shout out to sickler for being the most relatable and dope ass dude ever. #1 dude I’d have a beer with
Okay Ryan's giggle when he said Vancouber melted my heart. ❤️😩 Best podcaster around!
Discovered this dude on YMH, but it's so refreshing seeing anybody being interviewed with Sickler. He's like a therapist and pulls some great stuff out of the guests.
Brian is amazing, I really hope to see a 1 hour netflix special from him soon.
Wife and I just walked into a comedy club on a whim and saw him live in SD not knowing who he was. Been a fan ever since.
A special on any platform will get my eyes! The standup 30 mins was soooo good.
Yeah he was great the two times he has been on rogan
Aww yeah. I knew this would be a great episode when I saw Brain's name, one of the funniest people and such a perfect fit for the HoneyDew
I thought exactly the same!!
Brian is one of the best comedians out
First time I saw Brian Simpson was his set on Light's Out w/ David Spade. One of the funniest 5 min sets I've ever seen a comedian perform!! So happy to see him getting bigger and riding up through the ranks, he definitely deserves it, an absolutely hilarious comic!! Good for you Brian!!
ryan is by far my new favorite guy hes so down to earth and dope
When he was talking about breaking into his Dad's room with a credit card 😂 my äss was doing the same shit from the age of 13, except instead of the bedroom it was the office and instead of chocolate it was sh*tty weed
This is a strong man right here. I wouldn’t of made it having to walk in his shoes.
Brian's story is wild, I never would have guessed all the crazy things he's been through
man, I got Brian's back for life.
Brian is one of the most resilient comics in the game. That story only makes the strong stronger.
You can’t possibly know how much I needed this episode on a shit Tuesday. Much love!!! Keep growing!! ❤️
Wow.
Cheers to Brian Simpson.
“Don’t Give Up”
"red is bad, but wtf is green"? Holy fuck, best statement ever!!!!!!!
Let’s fuxkin go sickle cell, brian is one of my new favorite stand ups
B.S.'s cadence and tone is really what makes his comedy hit different. Highly recommend his half hour. Watched it at least twice already
I see Brian Simpson, I click. He doesn't have enough content.
All love to both Ryan and Brian - good men, good stories
Started from tha bottom and we still at that bottom ☝🏿 Straight up
Brian is a really great comedian. Great podcast
We highlightin the lowlights over here
Thank you Ryan for your podcast it legit helps with my personal issues I know not only myself has. Thank you I r much appreciated my dude.
Brian been thru a lot DAMN. Salute to this brother for making it 👊🏾!
Brian's special is great!! 😃
We need another honeydew of Brian Simpson. In my opinion he has hall of fame status like Jason Ellis because I've heard bits and pieces of this story from other pods but only on the honeydew/with Ryan Sickler we hear the real story
VanCoober 🤣 and then he said Fevruary 🤣🤣
Sickler said he was like the Antonio Brown of foster care 😂
My man Ryan sickler is better at giving comments, thoughts than any therapist I’ve been to. Keep it up man you make my Tuesday
26:55 "And that was the second time I went into foster care"
"Exactly!" 😆😆
I religiously watch the Honeydew Podcast every toosdie. I come for the sickle cell, but am always humbled by each and every guest. There are 101 podcats with different guests yet Ryan and the Honeydew seem to highlight my lowlights that I need to laugh at too.
Who needs The rapy when you have The Honeydew!.
Just got done listening to this on Spotify and this was so good that I had to find the CZcams video and like it
Fastest that an hour of a podcast has even gone by
Love this episode, thank you Brian for the honesty, you're putting light in the darkness just by sharing, and I love your stand up on Netflix
Brian Simpson is so fn dope!!!! Can't wait for more of his stand up.
Went straight from listening to the audio Mundee to watch Brian's special and it was everything I thought it would be! Now back here for the video on Toozdee!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Always gets better and better. You are amazing ryan. Don’t ever stop. This was an amazing interview.
Damn, that's a good one. Thanks again Ryan!
I've heard him tell his story before & its an impressive amount of hurdles to overcome to do what it is you want to do. Not just to get by, but to do what it is you want. Most of us fold into gigs that compromise what we really want to do. That is a rough path B Simpson endured.
"Fuck'em All, You're Right!" I Fuckin' Love That!
I need Burr to produce an F is For Family: The Brian Simpson Story series
Brian Simpson
! I was 26 as well the first time I ever had a place by myself! Glad I'm not alone with that one
Baltimore native living in Japan. I grew up with and went to school with ALOT of people in Brians situation that I didnt learn about until way after. Shits setup for people to lose with only the strongest getting out of there.
Thankyou Brian
Dude has a Great Story! Need to hear more! ✌🏻🙏🏼 Love and Respect From Michigan
Hell yeah brother, Brian is the shit been waiting for this one
I spent half of this episode at a low boil just fuming at the injustice of it all. Not one person took the time to get to know the boy he was and why he was so angry. From the betrayal of family leaving you everyone just kicked him down the road and pawning him off on some one else. The fact that he's become the man he is proof of how strong his character is.
Oh fuck yeah, Brian is the man
Also Ryan you’re the BEST!!!!
Brian on anyones pod "like ships in the night and shit" lmao just saw him on Josh Potter saying that and I swear he said it on another recent one, the Whiskey ginger appearance maybe?
I was thinking the same!! And yes, I believe he did say that on Potter's last week
Rahhhhh!!!! Semper Fi devil dog. Love ya brother!
This was great!
I related to this one too much lol. Be try similar upbringing. I always listen and watch! Love you Ryan !
What Ryan said about a chip on our shoulders is one of the realist things I've ever heard
This was an awesome podcast
Man! I gotta do this show, Sicko! Let's do it!!!!!!!!
Great episode!! Loved his half hour on Standups, crazy backstory!
It was a pleasure to meet you after the Thursday show in KC! Thanks for coming through town, especially when Andrew Santino and Nate Bargatze were here the same weekend!
This is both funny and touching. It makes me so grateful for the life I’ve been gifted. I wish he could of had an easier one.
Wow! What a life. That was so interesting 👍
Best part of my Tuesdee
Good interview cousin!
Wow man
What an episode
Awesome episode! 👌
Love the podcast keep em coming
I second this comment happy tues!
This needs needs neeeeeds a pt. 2
I'm 14 mins in and his story is triggering as hell lol gotta buckle up for this Dew...I know that balance of funny and Sickler laugh gotta be coming in soon.
You lie about your past too, to save the idoos you shouldn't have ? Not being a prick, but it's very clear after 14mins this story is stacked
@@phillipoliverholtz9226 ......come again?
Love this guy, found him through the bad friends podcast he's great
Watched his Netflix half hour. He fuckin kills. Really great set
Amazing story He definitely should come back on!
This needed to be an hour longer .. great pod
Whole thing was gripping but considering his come up hes a really balanced brother
Ryan cool..big Brain is a solid comedian 🤣😭 another's pain is our gain seems 👏🏼👏🏼
Definitely well deserved in terms of this his Brian's year!!
32:11 I almost crashed lmao
45:50 I love how Ryan and Brian make local references that are accurate to this day. DMV fam. I live near Riggs/Hyatsville and know the Giant.
Two DMV killers together had to watch this one laughs guaranteed
🤣🤣🤣🤣 another great episode.
LOLOL he said Brian is the Antonio Brown of foster kids lolololol we steady puttin' shame on that poor man's name 🤣🤣
Great episode! I thought he was really dope on the Netflix half hour and I have seen him on a couple other podcasts which were good but this right here was wiild! Good stuff!
this guy no lie would make a great gta character
When he said all the school cops said their names were "Officer Friendly" has me thinking back to "Officer Happy" when I was in school and it just clicked that was not her real name. I am feeling dumb.
I always feel so bad for kids that grow up without a loving family
Just bought your Bakersfield ticket big guy!!
Ryan says it's anger and rage and it's probably a little anger but no rage but mostly frustration
Wow, crazy childhood! Lol
