    Great job once again. I did have a 2019 GMC Terrain Denali and you are correct about the 2.0L engine. They should have offered it as an option and made it standard for the Denali line up. I sometimes wonder what GM is thinking. Don’t disrupt a good thing. Great review gentlemen! 👍👍

    One shocking thing at the end was a $500 charge for the blue paint!! The sunroof had better be a favorite and often used option at $1500. If I'm correct in what I've heard, the 2024 version does NOT let you turn off the idiotic auto shut off and start. This must be a BIG boost to starter and battery sales.

    Ive always been a GM fan....but sadly, outside Cadillac, the Corvette and heavy duty vehicles, they lag behind most automakers. The cost cutting of most of their interiors, reliability and lack of updating is so frustrating. Their MO through the higher-ups is tanking their sales, image and quality.
    I do think however, that they have some of the best user interfaces in terms of image quality and usability. The other encouraging thing is the new EV Silverado and GMC Hummer in terms of looking forward and innovation....time will tell with reliability. Perhaps the investments all went there at the expense of many in the rest of their fleet.
    This Terrain is going in the right direction, but still behind most of the competition in refinement and material quality.
    Excellent review guys!

    Rented one for a week and a half. It was a more base model but it had the most uncomfortable seats I've seen in a very long time. Small, short cushion. Even with power adjustments (think it was only 6-way) I couldn't get comfortable. I have long legs and the cushion was so short and had no thigh support. Plus by the time I moved the seat back enough for my legs the telescoping steering wheel ran out of range so my arms were sticking straight out. I'm 6' 3" which isn't overly tall. You'd think a US car company would have made the interior more comfortable for tall people.

    Hope they've reworked all the oil sensor & piston ring, engineering problems that caused their 2.5 EcoTech engine, on 2010 thru 2013 Terrain & Equinox models (& numerous others as well), to end up with blown engines. GMC lost a class action lawsuit, due to these exact engineering issues, but never advised any owners about the piston rings, & only sent out a recall for the oil sensor, allowing these engines to fail. Honestly, I'd ask what kind of engine did GMC use for these new models? Are they reliable?! My 2011 Terrain's engine was one of the affected models, & my engine did indeed get blown, & I was told it missed the date to qualify for repair. I used to swear by my GMC's & Suburbans...now, not so much. My confidence has been broken. :(

      No people don’t lease them. They finance them. Chevy people don’t know what is lease is. It’s a different crowd. Leases are more commonly executed with luxury vehicles. I’ve been in the car business for 10 years and that’s why I comment the disagreement: Chevy used to give huge discounts that drew people in to finance: most of their people that buy these have rocky credit and pay really high interest. I’ll leave it there.

    This vehicle is DEFINITELY on my short list for new suv's. I think either the SLT or Denali trim with the gray interior leather and wood trim accents looks gorgeous. I have a 2015 Lincoln MKC now so i think this will be a great replacement. The ONLY thing i don't like is that they did away with the 2.0 engine. I think GMC dropped the ball there. They should have kept that and made it the standard engine on ALL trim levels. And done away with the very under powered 1.5. I have 240hp & 270lbs torque now in my Lincoln so the Terrain's 2.0 would have been a very similar fit for me. I'm just not sure of going down too the 1.5 and losing all the hp & torque i have been used too. Perhaps i'll have too look for a 2021 SLT or Denali since that was the last year they made the 2.0 engine. Otherwise, it's a great vehicle that i feel doesn't get enough attention in the VERY busy small suv segment.

    • @1515cci
      @1515cci Před rokem +1

      I personally would have preferred they kept the 2.0 engine. I picked up the 2022 a few months ago and as a daily driver, I find the 1.5 to be quite adequate. The power and acceleration is there when needed particularly when merging onto the highway. I read some folks dumping on the 1.5 but it really isn't that bad as they make it out to be. The 9 speed transmission makes shifting a very smooth experience.

    • @tomtalker2000
      @tomtalker2000 Před rokem +1

      @@1515cci Well i'll have too try it and see for myself. But you must admit especially on the Denali trim. What the hell were they thinking getting rid of the chrome side mirror caps and dual chrome exhaust tips. They could have kept that as an added touch for this top of the line trim. I saw on forums that people were bitching about constantly having too clean off the exhaust soot from the chrome tips. Honestly i wipe mine down daily since my Lincoln has a turbo engine also. So your just going to get that with a turbo engine folks plain and simple. At least they gave us an updated nicer grille on the Denali and a FINALLY a dedicated on/off button for the start stop system. But seriously GMC you can have easily kept the nice chrome touches too the mirrors and exhaust tips for the Denali trim. Please bring that back. If not dual tips at least one chrome exhaust tip.

      I’d buy nether the rav4 has the garbage 8 spd transmission and this has a1.5 engine that has no power now if it had a 2.0 or the rav4 had the hybrid I’d take both tbh

      I have a 2021 Mazda CX-5. It’s my 5th Mazda. I love them. But Chevy people don’t like to even consider a Mazda much less a test drive. I’d their grand daddy drove a Chevy then they are driving a Chevy

      EXACTLY...!!! Bring back the 2.0 at least for the Denali trim. That 252hp and 260lbs torque was PERFECT for this vehicle. If other car manufacturers can give folks different engine options. And Nissan can squeeze 200hp and 225lbs torque out of a 3cyl turbo. Then GMC can do the same PERIOD...!!!
