What a lovely stepdad Colin is. I have a stepdad too and he is just wonderful. When I had a major operation, he came to visit me everyday. He was there by my side, bought me food and held my hand. I adore my stepdad. My dad unfortunately passed away 21 years ago. I love these shows! The medical team do such an amazing job!
I absolutely love Merlin. Him and his mom have such a great relationship and he seems like he'll grow up to be a great carefree man.

This woman with the thumb needs to put things into perspective. She could have died or been paralyzed or any one of a number of other severe injuries. I think if it was me, I would be eternally grateful that it was only my thumb even, if the use of my hand was compromised.

I have PTSD also....it's so difficult to sleep...to all who suffer the same I hope healthy relief comes soon...we have to keep trying ❤❤
It really is surreal watching my craft through the camera. Being behind the windows/doors in treating my patients and in resus working on someone a face male female child adult assessing treating tests working against time against odds and sometimes hopelessly fighting willing the losing battle to sway back to give us more time to sustain the patient pumping life back into them.

Colin is very obviously a phenomenal man, and a wonderful stepfather. The world needs more people like him. The only thing I wish, is that Frankie's mom wouldn't have used "real father", to refer to her ex-husband. I feel like it does a bit of a disservice to Colin. Yes, the ex was involved, and that's so wonderful for Frankie. Sadly, that doesn't always happen. And I'm glad for her. But Colin has been involved too, as much as, or more than, the ex. He's been there since Frankie was a toddler, and is doing everything he can to be there for her, since the other man passed away. He's been just as much a real father to her as the ex. SO I feel like the ex should have been referred to as "bio father" or "birth father". Because like I said, they've both been real fathers to her. But that's just my personal opinion. If they're happy with the way they refer to things, then hey, that's fine too. Either way, she is very lucky to have had those two men, and her loving mother, there for her, all her life. And she's very lucky to have come away from her spill so well, and with no lasting issues. My husband was a jockey, so I know full well just how bad horse-related injuries can be. When the narrator first described what had happened to her, I was so worried for her. And then when the story unfolded, I was so relieved! She has definitely been blessed, and I'm glad she understands that, and has a new appreciation for life.

Thank you to the Dr or male nurse that said basically our hands/fingers are just as important as any thing…it can be just as big an impact. Our thumbs are actually quite a big deal when injured, I somehow woke up Arthur in my thumb, it throbs all 😂the time. just is I find I’m needing it more and more all the time. It is a big deal our thumbs, I say all this because I messed my thumb and I go to orthopedic Dr once

Being on a horse is equally dangerous, if not more so.
I agree, I have been underneath a horse, stepped on, so now I just admire them. But my toes are pretty ugly from being broken.. I call them Dino toes!!😂😂😂
@@Mrs.TJTaylor………a horse is one big, powerful animal. In the Olympics’, Equestrian events’ are the ONLY ones’ where a human has to ride/control an animal. Have been riding since I was 8. I’ve participated in every discipline of it, including, Polo, & Polocrosse. Yes, I’ve had falls, but nothing serious, thank goodness. I love them, & still ride as often as I can, in my later years’…………

I love that the UK doctors introduce themselves by their first names. In the US, they refer to themselves as "Dr. ____" but address everyone else, including their elders, by their first names. .
For the life of me, I can't believe that the medics didn't have Frankie's neck secured with the "blocks" prior to transporting. As a flight RN and medic educator, they wouldn't graduate without doing so. That's a nationwide standard. 🇺🇸

They secured her complete body in a vacuum - mattress that is speciali designed to stabilise and fully immobilise patients that are assumed to have a vertebral fracture or any other similar issues. She had fome around her head and then extra patting. Ist the safest way to immobilise patients and secure spine maybe you lack knowledge of it but its golden standard and saves lives in Europe as it is more secure than just blocks. As soon as they arrived in the hospital and the vacuum mattress was "relaxed" her head was fixated to the blocks with a tape.... So no, no mistake was made my mistaken American colleague....

I was a helicopter flight RN and paramedic coordinator for over 27 years. Sweetheart, you can't expect to bully someone into changing their opinion. Others have just as much right as do you. My Daughter volunteered 5yrs with the deaf and went to college learning sign language interpretation. She took one year off, working to pay for school and they gave her no breaks or lunch with broken technology and having to do repetitive motion started to complain of wrist pain, her doctor did nothing for 1yr. She told me, I rushed her to my specialist who did MRI, Cortisone, rushing to hand specialist who completed emergency hand surgery as bone had died, fragmented touching next bone which killed it and so on. All bones across top removed, 2yrs later emergency surgery bone at base of thumb and bottom of baby finger both touching wrist removed all on dominant hand ending her career. Human rights allowed the treatment she re EI Ed from employer including fall in front of supervisor requesting to work rest of day u til she turned grey getting her to drive herself to hospital with severe concussion, vomiting two weeks.
……have been riding horses’ since I was 8. One time, I voluntarily ‘jumped’ off one, bc he was ‘playing up’, he then reared, so I rolled out of his way. I got up, went & got him, remounted, & continued riding, for the rest of the afternoon……………

Yes! It sounds like a fire alarm, to me! Understandable, like you said. But it by itself would leave my nerves frazzled after every shift, lol!

I can’t watch these kind of episodes anymore because it’s too hard for me my heart 💔 for those in pain, trouble, suffering or those tasting death ☠️ I can’t take it no more and also the medical team who treat them and the Ambulance 🚑 crew who are on scene and don’t blame those people who even answer the emergency phone calls and it may be their last breath….. and those who answered found out they didn’t make it will be effected too…… nah I can’t anymore

It is actually if it doesn’t continue into the nasal cavity or spirals into the eye orbit. It is only a small bone surround by cartilage
Children's bones are in a different developmental stage than adults; they're more flexible. A minor fracture in a child Merlin's age can be more like a "tear" in a layer of the bone, for lack of better words. Rather than a splintering or shattering or even a crack, in an adult. Because of that, kids can heal a whole lot quicker, from minor fractures. Source, the doctors who took care of my own son, who fractured his arm, around the same age as Merlin. My son (US) didn't even get a plaster. He got a cast made out of a type of plastic that they warm, and form to the patent's arm. He was just fine in about 3 or 4 weeks, and didn't even need physical therapy. And the above is how the doctors explained it to me.

I know, my husband dislikes horses because he thinks they are stupid.
I ride both. Had a couple of spills off a horse, got back on and kept riding. Never had an accident on my bike probably because I practiced defensive driving, always kept an eye out for other stupid drivers.
@@Pililani1……they are definitely NOT stupid. One time, I went to the stables’, & called my horse’s name. He ‘replied’ by whinnying, until I walked up to his stable door. My non-horsey friend couldn’t believe my horse ‘knew’ my voice! Have ridden for decades’. It’s just the best enjoyment, & one learns much………
At 20:27, let's talk about fiction. The notion that there were distinct lines for all races is, well, a bit of a stretch. It's interesting, I had a parent in the JW and when they married outside everyone got over it and we all spent time together. I knew JWs in New Zealand and the US and their experience was wildly different. They were absolutely dropped and excluded. I think the JWs in the UK might be softer.

@@kimsears5265, nope, patently false. I’ve been a Christian for many, many years. I have seen some families/people operate this way, but the vast majority don’t, in my experience. Many of us have family that aren’t believers, and still are close. I have a son who has chosen differently, and we love him deeply and spend lots of time together. We pray for him to change his mind, but we would never shut him out. I do know some people that are very intolerant of believers and outwardly spiteful, but again, the vast majority aren’t. You can’t paint all people with the same broad brush. But, you are correct in that some religions encourage their people to completely separate from those who don’t join or agree with them. That is very sad, and not what Jesus taught.

My ex showed up late to dinner with me once, high, I could tell she was in pain. I was like wtf is wrong with you? Once she limped off to the bathroom and started vomiting I knew something was really wrong. Finally she told me she came off her bike, she was just a learner. I got her to the hospital, she'd broken her bloody leg! I hate bikes. She was kinda stupid though. 😂
Jehovah's Witnesses do not base their worldview on love. As soon as a member expresses any doubts about this very odd take on reality, he or she is shunned. That includes children and other family members. I know several who left this cult and were devastated by their families' rejection. Not very loving.
