I purchased this car 7 days ago and I'm ecstatic. I am 56, school teacher, and this is my first new car. I got it because I want to get from point A to point B in the most cost-effective yet safe manner possible.
I saved 9k in cash towards the 26k vehicle. I'll make 3K a month payments over 6 months to pay the balance.
I could have purchased more but I enjoy a debt-free lifestyle. This fast payment will allow me to get back to debt freedom again in just months. I would have it no other way.

@@SadeedAhmed The sticker was $26k+ and I went on a test drive. I wasn't going to buy but the salesguy had my license and he said give him five minutes. He went over to the Sales Manager's desk and a few minutes later he came back with an offer sheet that had $24k walk out the door. It was Autonation Toyota in South Austin. It was the only one on the lot and had 5 miles when I did the test drive. IDK, maybe they were under some pressure to move metal. I paid cash so that wasn't it either. It's been two weeks and I still have half of the full tank. Over 50 MPG in mixed driving with the AC cranked!

Just bought one. So far I'm very impressed. I drove back and forth to work twice and the tank still shows full. This is just a way to get from A to B safely, reliably, and efficiently. I did not want to go into debt to get more fancy consumerist crap. I plan to have this for the duration. Which I expect to be 10+ years and 300,000+ miles. I'll likely give it to my daughter when she starts driving.

Me and my gf both have 15/16 year old camrys (purchased used recently) that are still lookin spiffy and going strong. If you don't live in a corrosive environment, you could very well get 20+ years out of it, although I say that living in a small country where average yearly mileage is low.

Father gave me his ‘07 Camry Hybrid premium trim in 2014 as my first car after graduating high school when he upgraded to Lexus. Still driving it 10 years later but now looking for a replacement, debating between economical and premium though in these times economical is the correct choice.
Starting your daughter out on a Toyota is great as it also will lead her to feel satisfied and fulfilled when she buys her own car that is premium later on. Some kids get the bmw in highschool by their parents and then get stuck in a car swap loop chasing a feeling they’ll never get resulting in expensive changes they can’t afford.
I got lucky with my driving instructor using his bmw to train when his work car was in the shop, that gave me quiet a taste of performance luxury and a tease to what I can enjoy in the future.

I've driven a couple of them recently & liked them a lot, also driven the regular gas versions & far preferred the hybrid versions. Normally my top pick for small cars would be the Mazda3 since it has a much more luxurious interior, but would go with the Corolla instead since Mazda doesn't offer a hybrid version. I would also have to go with the XLE to get the heated seats. The Corolla will always hold a special place in my heart as the first new car I bought back in the day was a silver 2006 Corolla S.

I owned a 2019 Fusion Hybrid before the car I traded for my new 24 Corolla LE Hybrid. I agree that the Fusion feels like a more substantial vehicle and more refined, but that comes at a significant cost, as the Ford was more expensive when new and ultimately will have more problems long term. I had none in the 175k miles I had mine, but most cars nowadays don’t start having trouble until around 200k… Toyota has a reputation of building cars that last far beyond that, and the simplicity of the Corolla and its hybrid drivetrain means it should fit that mold well.

Coming from a ‘06 Corolla CE, an almost 20 y/o car, if it were just by function, I could say I don’t need a new car. This one still performs well enough to get from point A to B. But it’s boring af, you don’t get any fun or excitement from your ride. I’ve been fortunate enough to now even consider buying my very first new car (the corolla was used). In my opinion this is okay if I were in my early 20’s with a low income. But that’s not me, and after seeing the 2025 Camry, I cannot see myself with anything below that. Grammar: ...ARE not too many glossy plastics... Really good review, as always. The psychological analysis of the potential buyer was entertaining. My own nature conforms to an approach to life that values being inconspicuous. Ostentatious displays are vulgar at best.
But my car will soon be 26 y.o. and, though still a joy to own and drive, might die before I do. So, thank you for the advice. I'll take it to heart.

This and the previous gen Corolla impress me with a lot of solidity and a really nice ride over rough surfaces. Maybe Toyota can spruce up the interior some on the next generation but the overall refinement of ride and feeling of solidity make this car feel worth every penny. And I find the seats comfortable.

The prius definitely deserves it! The corolla hybrid is a great option but only if you’re seeking low cost, low drama, sensible transportation and not much else. The prius adds character to the recipe at the cost of visibility and price!

It's a shame that the Corolla gets better tail lights in other markets outside the US. Either way, I'd rather have the non-hybrid version. The ICE version has plenty good MPG and significantly more HP.

I like this car.....but my ONLY desire is maximum fuel economy. I bought brand new, a 2020 Prius.....and have already driven it 372,000 miles! I have averaged 81.22 MPG over that time.....I am a trained and experienced hypermiler. Next I will try to get a good price on a 2024 Prius......but I live near Seattle, and only AWD models are allocated here. So I may run down to Northern CA to purchase one......

For reliability the Corolla hybrid is king in the segment. For value and everyday driver experience, I would say the Hyundai Elantra hybrid takes the cake. The drivetrain is still one of the most reliable in the segment and Elantra hybrid has better interior design, quieter ride, and better driver experience. Not everyone buys these cars to drive it for 300k miles.

I'm in Canada with the AWD variant and it would appear some of the features and specs are different. For starters the weight is 3053lbs (FWD) not 2850lbs, despite coming with alloy wheels rather than your steel wheels. What else could account for the 200lb difference? My gauge cluster is a screen rather than analog speed and tach. As a matter of fact there is no tachometer. I would like to know why it revs to >4000rpm (estimated) when accelerating or climbing hills. My '07 Yaris never exceeds 3500. I am only 5' 10" and I have to be careful not to bump my head when I get in the car. I don't know how anyone over 6' manages. My final annoyance is that there is no seatback pocket and the owners manual pretty much fills the glovebox. My Yaris has three gloveboxes including one on the drivers side.

That's the 2024 model? The 2023 European has 12'' gauge cluster screen and a 10'' multimedia screen. Why haven't they upgraded the 2024 model to at least that. Unless we're talking the most basic trim.
Did a 50 miles round trip, countryside and town, 4.2L/100km (56mpg). But I drove Eco (still at the limits, but managing acceleration and braking), and it's the new 2.0L Touring. In a less Eco way, I usually get 4.8-5.0L, which is still 45-47mpg US..
Basically, you have to work at it to get those MPG values, But hey, that's fine by me. In a city, it's really frugal, even the 2.0L.You can gain or lose 10 mpg easily in one of those.
