My question is: would a skating helmet be fine? My Partner wants me to sell my rock climbing helmet and use just my skating helmet. Things to note: I do not typically climb outside, I usually just belay and I do/can not Lead belay? (If that helps with answering)
I wouldn't recommend that, since i've heard a few times that there IS a reason why there are different helmets for different sports, and it's as easy as a skating helmet is not made thinking that a rock will fall on top of it; so I wouldn't recommend u to sell ur climbing helmet. How do they compare to the helmets on the virgina tech website. They don't even have a climbing helmet section.
