Nobody have asked for nobody to kiss CCs feet…people are asking for these crazy women to be clean, play hard against her, in all fair play and sportsmanship. Also recognize her value, say hey we have been fighting for this attention for so long, thanks CC for finally taking us where we have been trying to get…hey I just want to meet her and see what’s behind the beautiful smile, the trash talk in the court and the logo threes , with the passing skills, and we hope it will get us to better place, with better pay and opportunities for all of us…we want her to know though, that we won’t make it any easy on her…but she amazing, has done amazing things for the sport and at college level. We have to consider her one of the best to ever play at college level, ring , no ring..because it’s a team sport, but as individual athlete she accomplished more than any other women, and she broke men’s records too, she is a great conversation piece for us..We can tell curry, hey you won the three point competition against Sabrina, but one of us already broke your record from college more 3s in a season, and she scores for as far as you do…hey MJ you are amazing, the greatest , but look one of us put up a 40 points triple double in D1 tournament, you never did, nor did KD, DW, LB…with pride they could do that…in all good spirits. But instead, reality s coming, well is not just her , we were here first, and there was Rebecca, Moore, DT, SS, CP, all of them, which is true, but people did not care …
And if you pay attention, CC has but kind words of admiration for all those players, she and her family have been supporters of the league for years, she would ask to be taken to games..And I get it, some people thought she would fly through the league like a storm. But not her, she was always candid and realistic of the adaptation process. She is not the one putting herself in every wnba marketing video of the draft…it was your own league trying to help U..all..trying to help U where you wanted to go…sometimes that’s what it takes, (watch the last dance and you will see MJ say at times he hopes his teammates would understand that some of the things he told them at a given moment, he considered at that time necessary in order to achieve their common goal) but CC it’s not at fault for it. She just wanted to play and follow her dreams, which by the way, some she shares with all of the league players…none of these players looked at this big picture with positive energy. Since the beginning it has been resentment, warnings..we all saw what Carter did, we all saw Angel Reese celebrate the attack. The rage..does not allowed for them to think..she could have been paralyzed with a broken neck, because of the whiplash given the force of the hit..and the surprise, like being rear ended while waiting for a green light in traffic. ..when I saw Arike Ogunbowale embrace CC at the end of the first preseason game fever vs wins..I was hopeful…I watch Breanna S and other player of the liberty, jokingly surrounding Clark as in we are going to double team you and you will go nowhere…and I was hopeful…but instead we got Carter, and Reese, and then Lloyd, who could have said hey we have had crowds similar to this at some point, but never something like this in the first few games of the season, and yeah you are right (to the journalist) its thanks to the rookie class popularity, specially CC..we are happy to see the arena like this and the atmosphere, amazing, and we appreciate it ( that’s class, sportsmanship, honor where honor is due) it wouldn’t hurt anyone..pettiness and jealousy does hurt..sickness the soul…instead Lloyd said, ooh yeah yeah, we are used to play in front of crowds like this… and the journalist had to tell her, no I am sorry, but you are not…there were 10 K people in that Seattle arena, above the average attendance…how do you expect people to react to that…let’s be honest ..

The big problem is two of the guards that are on the team. D Tarasi and Gray are not better than she is currently. All you have to do is look at the stats and compare Tarausi to Clark and she’s not as good. Clark has more points per game, more rebounds per game more steals per game and the assist is not even close. Shouldn’t that be a pretty important stat for a guard? Clark has 6.3 assist per game and DT has a terrible 1.6 Clark actually even has a better turnover to assist ratio because DT never passes. I guess And Gray hasn’t played a single game in 10 months and it’s still questionable for the rest of the WNBA season. So how do you put her on and think in four weeks she’s gonna be a top 15 top 20 basketball player? There are probably 6 to 7 other guards besides Clark that should be on that team ahead of those two. The only reason. Tarasi is on is because she’s been there forever and they feel like they can’t cut her. Tarasi along with at least two or three others were put on the team as rookies at the age of 22 so that is not an excuse to say why she didn’t make it. Again, I’m not saying Clark should be on that team, but those two definitely should not be. and if they actually wanted to “grow the game” then you want to get as many viewers as possible and it’s pretty obvious from what’s happened in the WNBA so far the only games drawing 1,000,000+ viewers are the ones Clark is playing in all the rest are drawing 200,000 to 300,000 viewers. They have the worst ratings and the worst in person attendance now. Clark been on this team. I guarantee you all the euros would be going to the games just to see what all the hype is about. Now they’ll have nobody at their games, which is sad.

She is 42 in a league full of youngins averaging the same pts as Clark, and a better three point %. What you are trying to put out as a diss is really a compliment. For instance can we say definitely that Clark will play that long? See we disrespect anyone when we don't agree with things and send strays. She is a top 15 international player, and this roster wasn't constructed based on the WNBA season. They were invited to Camp. Clark was as well, but couldn't make it due to her teams success in the tournament. This team has been training together for 3 years. Clark would have missed 2 of those camps because of the tournament. Even those injured players played in the camp that Clark missed, so they have the chemistry together. And DT was holding her own at the Olympic tryouts. What you don't realize is that Taurasi because of her OG status also is getting everyone's best shot. Taurasi on top of winning three chips in college and 3 chips in WNBA also has the highest career scoring average in the WNBA. So much for her just being apart of those UConn teams. 2 Finals MVPS, one MVP to name a few, but internationally she has 20 championships between the Euro, Turkish, and Russian leagues with three player of the years over there, not counting the 5 gold medals and world championships she helped win for the US. She is arguably one of the best international players ever as well as domestic, and she is very capable of holding her own in international basketball. There is no way she comes off this squad. They will cave however, and Clark will be on the team so relax. I'm just saying no need to send strays. Its crazy how someone can help you win 5 gold medals then you want to scrap them for someone with no experience because they are popular.
CAN YOU IMAGINE IF DT AND CC'S SITUATIONS WERE REVERSED? DT IS THE YOUNG ROOKIE, AND THEY WANT TO TAKE OFF THE DECORATED AND PROVEN CAITLYN CLARK BECAUSE SHE 42 YEARS OLD AND DT IS THE NEW LIKEABLE PERSON WITH NO EXPERIENCE. YALL WOULD LOSE YOUR MIND!!

If CC was on the team, more people would watch and learn who the other stars of the WNBA are and what team they play for. Well she isn't, so nobody will watch and learn who the others are. *8) She brings more curiosity to Women's Pro Basketball*
*9) Game viewership both on TV and in the stadium increases*
*10) More advertising, revenue, jersey sales and recognition comes to the players*
*Clark has enough cachet to be on Women's Olympic Basketball team and the U.S Women can still win the Gold Metal and still reap all the benefits, her taking another players spot won't be detrimental to the team accomplishing it's goal, how can anyone not cease a gifted opportunity, capitalized on it and just go with it, because it makes to much sense?*

    @RJackson76 Před 16 dny +4

The artificial stardom surrounding her is what is causing the resentment. You don’t feel she should be on the team because of her abilities, just because of her popularity.
Everything about her situation exemplifies privilege. They keep using the word “jealousy,” but who exactly is jealous of her? Who is wronging her? Whenever something happens to her, it’s not due to her skills; it’s because the league is allegedly targeting or jealous of her. These excuses don’t cause jealousy; they cause resentment because she’s being held to a different standard without earning it. This is privilege.
She didn’t make the team because she’s not a top 20-25 player. Plenty of decent players put up large numbers on bad teams. She didn’t make the team because she wasn’t good enough this time. Yet, due to her fan base-largely new white viewers who want to support a new white player in a predominantly black league-there’s a demand for her to cut the line. That’s why we’re having this discussion.
It’s not about jealousy; it’s about resentment. It’s like working a 9-to-5 and watching the boss’s daughter get promoted over you, despite lacking the experience and skills you’ve worked hard to acquire. That’s privilege.

That said the committee appears to have chosen players that were less qualified in the past. So it’s confusing because the selection decisions don’t follow a consistent pattern. So what’s different? People love her personality, she genuinely seems nice. And she is a pretty good player, even as a rookie. So fans like her, the media likes her, she is a pretty good player, she is both in the top and bottom of stat categories, and some players don’t like her. More pros than cons at first glance. Paul Hembekides is just lying: Clark is not in the top 10 in all the important stats. 15th in scoring (12 teams meaning she is by far the worst first option), 28th in rebounding, 23rd in EFF... Oh wait: she's #1 in turnovers, #1 in worst plus/minus at -37, #1 in most shots taken..... I guess those are important too. She is having a very hard time adjusting to not playing her college game, she does not seem adaptable or flexible so everyone else is having to play to her strengths instead of their own and the teams. She does not know how to function as a contributor, she only knows how to be the center/playmaker. That will not work on the Olympic team. Just give her a break with the crazy expectations, she's a rookie whose never had to adapt her game before.
If it is just about marketing put Taylor Swift on the team: think of all the eyes watching, all the T-shirt sales, and Team USA will win anyway right? (the men always won too, until they didn't) But, what everyone forgets is the WNBA does not decide who makes the team, it is not the WNBA's call. It is the US Woman's Basketball Committee who choses the roster. A committee headed by Dawn Staley. It is ridiculous that new to the game fans think they know more about women's basketball and how to build a winning team than Down frigg'n Staley. Team USA is probably the best Women's basketball team ever put together: the most talent, experience, and balance ever on a single team. Clark makes the team worse. You have two GOAT contenders at their prime in Stewart and A'ja Wilson on the team why is that not the story? Oh ya clicks, it isn't about basketball for y'all its about clicks milking the Clark Simps.
I'm not saying she's horrible, just she isn't even one of the top 20 WNBA players right now. She's a great talent and I'm sure she'll become a top level player, and probably sooner than later. But right now, this moment she is not an elite WNBA player. I am not a Caitlin hater, I love how she's handled herself and think she has so much potential. The way she's handled the attention and how generous she is with her time and attention makes it hard not to like her and cheer her successes. Her Stans and Simps however.... I like Clark enough to root for her in spite of the obnoxious Caitards.

she's 4th in assist isn't that important for a point guard. second she not playing 30 minutes a game and they not losing no matter who is on the team. the 12 best players do not necessarily make the best team in order to win. let's take a few examples Isiah not on dream team why cause Jordan didn't want him on the team. look at the men's team, bam been on Olympic team we know he not one of the 12 best players. she's the best shooter in the country u mean to tell me you don't want that on the team. if you telling me she needed more experience I'm good with that but don't tell me it's about basketball cause it's never about basketball you trying to win and grow the game and best represent the county. what's best for Clark to me isn't making it cause if she made it the resentment and hatred for her is at all time high then you got article and players saying she got it cause she white and she don't deserve it and it's again her overlooking every black player in the league and she don't need that drama. aja Wilson already said she white that's why she popular and got her Nike deal, that was beneath aja Wilson to even say that she shouldnt be worried about a rookie coming im. like it or not 20000 people came to see her Friday against Washington, 20000 is that good for the game or people resent it cause they came to see Caitlin. people act like she scored 4 points a game that's why she got a Nike deal or became the leader in college basketball, she's a great player why wouldnt people acknowledge that she is, her being great doesn't mean other players are bad

@@7damon8ietheredge54 Yes, she's fourth in assists; unfortunately she's 75th in assists to turnover ratio and that's is a really REALLY bad thing for a primary ball handler and focal playmaker. One of the things I like about Clark is she's fearless with no conscience on the court. The downside to that at this point in her career is she misses a lot of shots and throws a lot of passes she shouldn't in situations she shouldn't.
Yes, she's made a lot of threes, but she's also missed a lot. She's shooting about 33% from the arc which is pretty average and not carry shooting from a ranged specialist. She's also missed some pretty clutch important shots too. If you throw up 100 shots per game sure you can say you average 25 pts/gm but that's not a good thing. Clark has the second most 3 pointers made with the 29th highest 3 pt shooting percentage.
As for the racist thing, don't know and don't care. I'm sure Clark's popularity has benefitted in at least some corners from being a Midwest white christian heterosexual, but I'll leave the outrage one way or the other to the culture warriors. I'm talking basketball, you want to talk culture war and your grievances I don't care.
She is not 'great', she has the talent to perhaps become great. No one ever comes into a Pro League as a great, everyone comes in a rookie with a career to prove they're great. Everyone wants to give Clark what she's capable of earning on her own steam.

@@kshaun84 Luckily Clark has said she basically ignores conversations about her that aren't related to her basketball play. I will admit that even though my outlook for her career his quite grim, she does at least have a good mentality/attitude. So if she fails, it won't exactly be b/c of mentality/attitude issues, which is the main reason for many hyped up players to fail (Ben Simmons, Zion Williamson, etc).

The argument that Caitlin is not good enough to be on the team is dishonest and I am tired of shows like this enabling that point of view. She has just as good if not better stats than at least 4 players on this team. She is 13th in scoring and 4th in assists for one. Two, one of the women has not even played a game and Griner has only played 1 her stats are better than plums and just as good as Turasi's. So just stop it with that it is a very dishonest take. If there was merit to it I would not be saying anything but its not true and I am so sick of the dishonesty overall in reporting. All the time I see myself listening to things that are not true, or the proper context is not given. And this is one of them. She also would have gotten playing time naturally because some of these games are going to be blowout wins, so stop with that idiotic take too.

Someone made the point that if you put her on the team and then say that “they are gonna win anyway” you are effectively saying that it isn’t about the actual game of basketball. And if you’re saying that without her you’re not watching, then that’s really not an effective way to grow your brand. Those aren’t the kinds of fans that will create a sustained business because to them it’s her or nothing. All of the reasons people give for why she should be on the team has nothing to do with basketball but sponsorships and eyeballs. Let’s just acknowledge that

Normally if more people watch they would see the amazing play of other players and become fans of them also. I think the whole "I only watch because of Caitlin" is an unfortunate backlash to the perceived mistreatment of CC.
Not all WNBA players and coaches are doing it but it's enough to trigger the backlash.😔

I have one question Do You think a Men’s Olympics team Made up of Steph Curry, Anthony Edwards, jaylen brown, Jason Tatum, KD, Devin Booker, AD, Jimmy Butler, Kawhi, Paul george Would Lose in The Olympics?
Would the Team be more popular if Lebron was on the team?
