In the weeks since, a lot of people have been wondering how the European legend ended up on the same org as Faker and whether they’ll ever play together…

He can still play, but as a substitute if that's okay with him. Just play a handful of game whole year and it always depends if they want to swap you in or not so yeah it's possible if he's down being a substitute and just basically seated almost the entire time.
Rekkles as a veteran can help a lot of rookies. And playing support behind Keria will help him develop as a support. Seems like a win win for both sides
Imagine you are the "Veteran" with 27 years of age who plays behind the 21 year old World Champion and someone has inhaled a whole Copium Mine to think someone in the roster will give a flying fuck about Rekkles.
He is a 27 year old 'veteran' ad carry. He is a rookie support. Most people who think he will play for the main T1 team are deluded, and the people who think no one cares about Rekkles in T1 Academy are also equally deluded. And playing behind someone younger isn't really that bad, when that someone younger is quite literally in the running for the best support in the world, and you are just starting to play the role professionally. @@Vittrich

People wondering what T1 is doing and are ignoring the fact that Rekkles is there to learn from the best region and team in all of LoL.
Yeah, seems like an incredible move from Rekkles. Being able to soloQ in the best region while at the same time continue with professional training close to the current best team in the world, in their academy team benefiting from their facilities/infrastructure.

Honestly, a really interesting move for his career. There’s no shame in him admitting he lost a step. He even says as much when talking about rejecting LEC offers. This 12 to 24 month experiment is a good way to challenge himself in the hardest/best region for the game. If he can prove himself to be a valuable asset to T1, there is no doubt in my mind a tier 1 roster will scoop him up

@@essschesss6471 No, I am pretty sure he's on the challenger team; the team is just called T1 Esports Academy I believe, and Rekkles will play with Poby the GOAT (who replaced Faker during the latter's injury this year).

I think he will be good for the young talent in the academy team and also it is a genius marketing strategy, Rekkles is probably one of the most marketable players of the west, imagine a promo video with Faker AND Rekkles. Worth the try in my opinion

You know, this is not going to happen but let’s see this from Rekkles’ perspective.
He has wanted to win worlds since he first found this game, he was close in 2018 and his signing in 2021, following a team that was even closer to winning, must have given him hope.
Then it all crumbled, and he went downhill. He swapped to support because he believes he can do better like that.
Now, even if T1 meant it as a marketing move, he is close to the greatest team in the greatest league of the game. If he could only replace one other player, as good as he may be, only one other player. Then he could play in a team ready to win another championship. He could then have the single thing in this world that he’s wanted the most.
I'm happy for Rekkles and he change to support. I never thought you could carry with Support until Keria completely change my mind when he moved to T1 and got MVP from LCK and become one of the best player in the world.
The thing with Academy teams is that they lack experience. Look at how Poby did when he was brought up to replace Faker. A team full of mechanical gods, that went 1-7.
Rekkles brings experience in spades.

Why T1 bought rekkles for academy?!
He's full of experience and he can make academy even better
He can be best choice for changing roaster in some games between guma or keria and he would be the six man of team

I don't think anyone is replacing Keria any time soon.
I could see that Rekkles contract has some kind of clause that makes him the substitute for next years worlds. I could see him playing one game there and that will be the only time we see him play on the main roster.

Not only do they scout well, they also give the trainees quality practice.

Quite literally they have been churning out monsters like Zeus, Oner, Guma and berserker.
So it’s a win for t1 as rekkles will bring a lot of marketing opportunities

The only way I see this happening is if Keria doesn't renew his contract and leaves after the 2024 season.
Also, Rekkles would have to beat out both Cloud and CaNe while T1 doesn't sign any support during the 2024 offseason.
It's not impossible, but it seems unlikely.
IT IS IMPOSSIBLE. Even if everyone on the T1 roster and subroster mysteriously dies, T1 will just get new LCK players. Rekkles was one of the, if not the worst LEC player in the last years who had to play in a challenger team because no one wanted him and when returning to FNATIC almost got benched for the rest of the season immediatly because he got outclassed by every single ADC in the LEC. Him swapping to supp will not change this.

No rekkles can and will not replace Keeia the support with the DEEPEST champion pool… however he can be a banch player that can play 2 positions… he used to play ADC and now is learning support i would say that its pretty useful since thats 2 backups in 1 player

You're telling the story wrong. Griffin got there first at T1 as the first foreign player in Korea
People seem to forget that Keria is 21 years old and in Korea that means he needs to go and fulfill his military duty sooner or later.
Examples enough of Korean pro players needing to take a break for this exact reason.
Now lets assume Keria needs to get into the military next year, you have Rekkles role swapping and not getting a chance in europe.
Rekkles a EU Icon as ADC who knows the bot lane inside out, Rekkles who is immensely popular in Asia and by this has good marketing value, Rekkles a true professional, who is always grinding and looking to improve.
And then as T1 it would not be a strange move to sign him for two years. In the first year to show T1 if he is capable and in the 2nd to be a possible cheap consistent (Mister KDA, remember) Experienced (as a pro not as support) temporary replacement for Keria.
Besides that Having so much experience in your academy team, can only benefit the young blood in there. So win/win.
And Rekkles already said 5 or 6 years ago, he wants to play in Asia once, preferably China, but well you gotta take what you can take.

I honestly think that Rekkles is more of a backup for Faker and hear me out. Last year when Faker went down Keria was going to be moved to mid lane, and their academy support was going to move up, but Poby had been playing out of his mind so they kept Keria on support and moved Poby up. So if Faker were to go down again, they could now move Keria mid, and have Rekkles support. T1 lacked shotcalling and someone to reign in the rest of the team when Faker went down. So while mechanically Rekkles is clearly not their best backup mechanically, I think his experience, knowledge, and past accomplishments will help reign in the “kids” *cough* Oner *cough* Keria *cough* because mechanics was never the issue, a leader and stabilizing force when faker was out was left void, which I think Rekkles would fit.

poby took over faker and they went 1-7 and we can guess faker does a lot of shot calling / glue that holds the mentality of the team together. since Rekkles is on the T2 team and NOT the T3 team. yes he WOULD be the first person to replace keria if said keria got injured like faker

2) you're assuming rekkles joined t1 solely for branding when T1 is a bigger brand then him. if that was the case LEC teams would've picked up rekkles but he all saw how much of a failure that has treated him in the past couple years (you can make an argument for KCorp) rekkles himself has even stated he wants to win in the most competitive area of league (lck) and time will tell if he does win challenger leagues and moves up or even get picked up by a LCK team.

didn't pros from west do boot camp in korea during off season? since twitch have wrapped up business in korea, they can't do boot camp and still get income from streaming. This is the only option to experience KR ranked and pro scene while still having income

honestly... i dont really care if T1 win anymore. Faker has got his 4th cup, basically something nobody will ever acheive. sure, they could win more, but I'm less invested in the 5th cup as i was for the 4th one. Although it would be nice to see the roster, get back to back worlds, making it the only team to ever win two worlds back to back with the exact same roster.
