  • If your Can-Am Spyder feels low riding, your rear suspension probably needs air. Now, before you, keyboard tugs start tuggin'. I searched my Can-am 2020 Spyder F3 owner manual, and the information was vague...at least to me. Because I'm looking for keywords like "Schrader Value" and "Bicycle pump" with pressure gauge. But after researching several Spyder forums, the critical word was "Air ride" with manual "pressure adjustment" and "swing arm with monoshock." Long story short, get a bicycle pump and pump up your back rear suspension!
    Information:
    Model of my bike: 2020 Can-Am 3FT
    Valve under rear passenger seat is called a "SCHRADER VALVE"
    Manual Pump we used: Specialized Air Tool Pro Pump
    These pumps with pressure gauge are sold at pro bike shops.

    Thanks for your content. I'm getting my own 2019 Spyder F3T this afternoon, or else Sunday after Church, buying it from a close friend. Keep 'em coming, glad to be aboard.

    Thanks for the info. ⭐️ Hubby’s 2020 RT looked a lot lower than my 2022 S2S and we found out it needed air, so we pumped it up and hopefully it will hold and there isn’t a hole in the system. We live just south of Houston and we are going to the Ozarks too. Maybe we will see you there! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

    Funny, I had the same thing for the first 500 miles. You can use a small compressor. I use a small hand held one from Ryobi.

    FYI - the Schrader Value will bleed off as soon as you start and place your Spyder in gear. The Schrader is connected to the compressor, and it is the compressor that levels automatically over-riding any air you put in through the Schrader. This is automatically filler for the shock.

      If it were connected to a compressor then you’d see the connection instead of just a valve.

    Great info, thanks for posting. There is not much talk about this air ride/air bag on "the tube". I do know that the F3T still has the manual adjustment for the rear airbag. My 2022 needs to be manually added - and I check it regularly. I do use a compressor that is built into my battery jump box, because it is not "high pressure" like the gas station pumps or the ones used for air tools etc. The RT's on the other hand have the on-board pump for the self leveling feature. Hopefully Can Am adds this to the F3 line-up soon. Keep posting great content!

    You’ll find your owners manual has info about this and there is a sticker near the valve with a chart showing how much air for how heavy a passenger.

      Most definitely! Keep an eye on it. I would venture to say just make it a "ride check" before you do a ride. We want to make sure we're staying safe while enjoying the open road 🙏🏽

    2023 F3-T is not auto you have to pump your shock up and check it often if you are riding 2 UP. I am not sure as too how much air the shock will take. 30 psi for a rider weighting 135 is not enough.

      It depends on your bike and rider weight. We dropped mine down to 18 and it's been a great ride at that psi.

    Does it lose air after a while?

    • @adventuresoffearlessfaith
      @adventuresoffearlessfaith  Před rokem

      Great question! All tires will leak down overtime but nothing out of the ordinary. However, you will know when your back tire is low... You'll feel it. Plus you won't be able to see your back tire hardly. We tend to check it like our regular tire pressure.

    Why can’t you use a compressor?

    • @adventuresoffearlessfaith
      @adventuresoffearlessfaith  Před 7 měsíci +1

      You shouldn't use a compressor because it doesn't take much force to fill the air bag. Using a compressor puts you at risk of blowing out your ride air suspension bag. You can actually use a bicycle pump.
