  • Bjorn Jacobsen's Book is wonderful and i applied the techniques and used the materials mentioned in his book HOW TO MAKE EXPLOSIONS & FIRE IN A DIORAMA.
    This also coincides with my First Japanese Aircraft Build with full research and interviews with historian Mr. Tony Feredo about the aircrafts and the different campaigns of the Japanese Forces during the Philippine Occupation in WW2.

    Le réalisme est vraiment saisissant. Le panache de fumée est plus vrai que nature et donne à l’ensemble un mouvement ultra réaliste. Un Grand bravo Yvan. Super classe comme d’habitude. Salutations de France.

    Overall, excellent! Yours is the best smoke simulated with cotton I have seen! The lighting expertly creates the bright illusion of fire, too.
    As for the transparent disk in lieu of the propeller, from my own recent experience (I readily concede that am no expert!), no, it does not work; only motorising the model, as well as supplanting the prop with a sturdier metal replacement (the torque of the rotation over time can warp the polystyrene blades out of place) would be visually convincing. Your technique for mounting the model "airborne" obviating a visible stand-- this is expressly why I have come to examine your work--also would enable one to mask from view the electrical leads of the LEDs, motor, etc.

    • @IvanTheTerrible911
      @IvanTheTerrible911  Před rokem +1

      Hi David my friend. Thank you very much. I agree with you on the rotating props. Would hopefully do a rotating prop engine build one of these days. As always glad for your support.

    Thank you for showing how you do the spinning prop. It looks easier then what I imagined. I have just been experimenting with putting the clear plastic on a drill and touching the spinning disc with a paint brush. It look crappy unfortunately. Quick question about this - what colour do you like to use and what proportion of thinner was added?

    • @IvanTheTerrible911
      @IvanTheTerrible911  Před 2 lety

      Your most welcome. A good many have asked me about this spinning prop. I finally decided to include it here. Color for prop? Thinner will depend on the paint brand because they differ in viscosity/thickness. For Tamiya acrylic paints i normally 25% alcohol 75% paint. For War paints (local) brand 50/50.

    OUTSTANDING WORK ITT !! Question: can the light source be hooked up to a 9V battery ?? Also did you do a lite weathering job on this one ??

    • @IvanTheTerrible911
      @IvanTheTerrible911  Před 2 lety

      Yes a 9V battery will do provided the light bulb fits the 9V requirement. As you see, the 3V led light i used there was without mishap. I burnt several already because the voltage was higher than 3V. Just be careful when selecting the led or light bulbs and make sure 9V is the voltage required. Hope this helped. Cheers. No weathering on the light bulbs but i did airbrush the cotton.

      Hello Mr. Ross. I have seen a few modelers doing decent paint work just by hand painting their models. As in the Battle of Lae as an example, most of the Japanese Zero were hit on land and were not able to successfully launch aircrafts to do battle with the US Aircrafts. Thank you also. Cheers.
