Cam Civic 10th Gen's are known to have AC problems. It's usually covered under warranty. My AC condenser had a leak and it was covered by a recall/warranty. Take it to a dealer and see if it's covered.
I second this! You should’ve gotten a letter from Honda about the AC warranty. I got mine for my FK8 about 2 months ago.
I've been following since 2020, when I was considering an Si. I ended up buying a Honda Passport instead (life reasons) but your content keeps me watching even 3 years later! Love the vids!

For the money, I’d look into a used RSX type S. I feel like it has a solid foundation for mods and it already has a K engine to boot. Plus the price to value for them are fair. I love the older EF/EG/EK models, but I feel like it would take a lot more money getting it to where I want (paint, engine swap, etc). All that work can definitely make for some great content though 👍🏽

Bro, 20 years later and I still miss my '01 GS-R. A damn ice storm hit NC in early '03, a pine tree covered in ice snapped in half, fell onto my beloved Integra. Still not over it...

Having driven a b18c swapped EG Hatch, you have to get one of these. It's just so light, and raw, with the right suspension and drivetrain it's just a pocket rocket and a true driver's car 👌
That silver wagon is actually a 1982 - my dad had an 82 brown wagon so we talked with that guy awhile. I have a 2007 S2000 but had an EF hatch, EG sedan, 3rd Gen Prelude Si and my dad has had civics, accords, pilots and crvs since 1980 so the event is amazing for us.
My list of cars I’d want to add if I had unlimited room is a 91 Civic Si hatch, 91 CRX Si, 91 Prelude Si, 95 NSX, 92 Integra GS-R

The A/C is trash on our cars, bro. Take it to Honda. There’s an extended warranty on the condenser AND recently the compressor. It’s common they go out. They’ll charge to inspect and then end up replacing it. Had it done last year. I drive a ‘19.

You should definitely look into moving to TN! It's the best. Those EM1 civic Si's are so sick too! I'd recommend that build. I'd watch whatever content you put out though, because I feel like you're super relatable. I hope y'all enjoy the rest of your trip.

I’ve heard you run down to BRZ’s‘s a couple times in a few videos you know the metrics better than I do but it really is the only reason I watch your channel and it was a reason I came to your channel and subscribed when you first got it I’m not sure why videos the videos you post about it don’t do well but others seem to be doing really well with it.

Im a 2021 FK8 Type R owner. Original Honda guy from the 90s, I had a 94 GS-R, 96 LS, etc. I am not digging how much FK8 Type R owners are ricing their shit out. We use to keep our Hondas clean back in the day and it seems like that art is lost.

Rsx type s and 2000 si bodies look soooo fricken good!
FWD with some dedicated winter rubber is great in the snow. The LSD makes it even better.
Not saying AWD isn’t better in snow. Just that the Type R would surprise you on some winter tires.
Another excellent video. I had my AC stop working on my civic 1.5 turbo, it was a condenser leak. Had it replace for free as honda know there is a problem with them. Just a heads up. 👍👍🇬🇧
Eg6 painted in the same color as your type r with full ( hard race )suspension and motor mounts and k24/k20a head and oil pump. With a haltec ecu must have full interior and sound system (no cheating) sound deadening and definitely ac have lht performance build you a custom twin loop exhaust for no drone

Rsx type s is is still a coupe and it looks pretty cool still. Comes with a k20 already so that’s a big plus. When my friend worked at Greddy years ago I was able to sit in the first turbo prototype for the Rsx type s and I will always remember that expereince.
I personally love EK body lines over the EG hatches. Very iconic flat angular rear.

Integra Type R or a Super Sonic Blue Pearl Integra GSR 👍🏻 Next would be an EM1. The RSX-S is a great car as well. The old schools are just classic though!

As for civics there's a 91 I think civic hatch. It's got that boxy look and straight headlights. It's beautiful.

Hopefully just needs recharged, definitely check that first. You can get recharge cans at any place that sells auto parts that’s super self-explanatory on how to recharge. Just make sure you get the right refrigerant
10th gen civics and failed AC - name a more iconic duo.......my condenser leaked out on my Si 30k miles.
I have a ton of family in TN (Bristol, Johnson City area) and they tell me the winters are pretty mild still freezing temps and what not but not much snow couple times a year usually. Its definitely a nice state hot as balls in the summer though lol.
The AC in my 2020 SI went out too I know how you feel. There’s recalls on the condenser and compressor I believe but my issue was the condenser ! Love the video brotha:)

I notice at work it's common for the AC condensers to leak on many civic around that year.
I think the reason you AC was struggling was you had all that stuff by passenger foot well intake. I’ve had that one happen before! Your system was probably totally frozen. I’d guess it fixed itself when you emptied passenger footwel. If blocking it didn’t burn something up. Shit happens man. At least it happened on way home!
Acura RSX TYPE S, that’s looks beautiful. I have one on old times black. That K24 vtech kick hard.
Gas station pumps have filters that need maintained and changed regularly. I think the underground tanks have a main hydraulic pump as well that has filters or can go bad. That’s what I always assumed when the pumps are super slow.
You also have to be careful when that happens because when your tank does actually fill up, there isn’t enough back pressure to click the nozzle off. You’ll usually see fuel all over the ground at those stations.

My vote is 8th Gen Si. Still love mine 07' Sedan I bought new now with 276K. I think it will outlast my 22' 11th Gen Si. We will see. My first car in 89' was a 76' Honda Wagon Orange. 22' Si is Orange so I've come full circle.😊

My 18si AC also died after 3 yes of usage. I has it rifilled and did not have an issue for the next 2 yrs or so before I sold the car.
Had the same AC issue with my 2020 type R. Luckily it was fixed for free by Honda because of a recall. Not sure if it’s the same for 2021 but worth into

Definitely check the condenser in your AC. Known issue and Honda extended the warranty on them. For me. I always make sure when I start the car.. I go into climate and make sure I'm clicking "off" under the AC part. That way it's not running at all.
I took the extended warranty out on my FK8 to cover a further 3 years. This was one of the reasons.
I think the reason why you are bored with the BRZ is that you dont use it for BRZ things. Its RWD - you need to use it on back roads, auto-x, track days.. then you will really appreciate it!

I primarily watch your BRZ content, but what matters most is that you love the car, so get what you want. I also, would love if you got the new type r. That thing looks so much cooler than the previous gen, but I prefer simpler designs.

My AC got damaged and was replaced under warranty. The coolant leaked out and it was useless and noisy. So maybe it's the same?

I may be biased considering I work at Hybrid, but the detent springs for the 10th Gen are must for the platform.

Especially 8th Gen Si's they go for so cheap Everytime I see one for sale. Usually I see them listed on the groups from $4500-$6500 and the have the LSD, unlike the RSX. I had both cars and loved my RSX Type-S, but it was a 2002 which aren't as nice as the 2005, but the are way cheaper then them too.
8th Gens are not anywhere near that cheap for anything reasonably clean and low mileage. If I go through with this, I won’t be settling for some $6000 shitbox with 170,000 miles and peeling paint

Your FK8 AC should be fully covered by honda even if your bumper to bumper warranty is up...i traded my FK8 in for an FL5 but i got mail from honda couple weeks ago saying honda will fix any ac issues for like the next 5 years or something...i forget exactly what it said..but it was like a really big lawsuit for the 10 gen civics and accords...everyones acs were failing prematurely.
My 19 fk7 had 21k miles and ac died, unfortunately it’s super common, but Honda extended the warranty on them.
