  • This is a how to fix the Welsh Pit Bike 190 BEAST gearbox issue of jumping out off gear in mainly 1st and 2nd and sometimes 3rd. Its an easy fix if you are confident with a spanner and have some tools plus the part that needs replacing. There are some tools needed that not everyone will have but i give other options you could use that most people will have in the tool box.
    Hope this helps!

    Hey mate. Nice video. The only thing I noticed is that ooracing recommends that you move that washer on the gear that sits over the pawl to the back of the gear. So 2 washers, gear then circlip.

  • @welshpitbikes
    @welshpitbikes Před 3 lety +3

    Guys, the enduring fix for engines affected by this issue has always been the dished washer, not the replacement of the selector pawl. For limited engines affected by this during the spring summer of 2020 production, we always had these parts available to customers who contacted us.
    The 190 Beast is now the Go To engine in 2021 for pitbikes, teething problems were encountered but you dont make progress in the market without taking risks, WPB always try to bring the latest generation bikes and engines at the best unbeatable prices.

    • @motomachinezuk8786
      @motomachinezuk8786  Před 3 lety +3

      I had to work this out through others as I did contact wpb and I was sent selector arm and new star. Then happened again within a few hours so emailed again and was sent a link to selector arm from ooracing and that was it, I felt like was on my own and not getting any help so was slightly disappointed with customer aftercare, 3 bike from wpb.
      I was in contact with someone called keir I've got the emails still just had to check.
      Was gutted to be honest as others never let me down with mechanical breakdowns.
      I totally agree you lot set new standards and innovate with pitbikes and good point made, so obviously can be risky. However I still think could have been handled better.
      But appreciate the info and comment.
      Anyway as you can tell we like our pit bikes if you ever want anything tested or advertised maybe this small channel could help. I know only tiny but hopefully growing. Don't know if I don't ask.
      Cheers glad you enjoy some of the channel

    • @welshpitbikes
      @welshpitbikes Před 3 lety

      Keir was working with a number of solutions last year, a new selector pawl, new frog gear and the dish washer, all three would have fixed it if done together but the sure fire fix if you were only doing one mod, was the dished washer. Even The new selector pawl off a 125 could become a bit slack at the pivot during further wearing in , and the problem may have returned. It did in your case unfortunately. It also depended on the quality of the new Pawl that was fitted.
      Its also well known that any pitbike engines can develope a slip in 3rd gear, particulary 140cc engines, this being caused by repeated forced change of gear under drive and not using the clutch correctly, what happens then is the selector forks the other side of the selector drum sitting next to the gears get bent, and then it does not hold the gear on the shaft correctly and it jumps under drive in 3rd gear almost feeling as the chain is jumping a tooth on the sprocket.

      @@IBOO57 there’s not much difference in power through the gears but the 190 has 5 gears so top end you have a bit more than the 170 also the 190 is a crf 110 frame instead of the crf 70 frame so does feel bigger I don’t think you can go wrong with either of the bikes I’ve got both but do tend to use the 190 more just because it’s bigger

      Hello, difficult to be sure but if worn they won't help, will add to the problem. I've got a retaining washer to put over the arm onto frog that will hopefully stop the arm jumping off if gearbox not damaged. £33 off ebay.
      Hopefully I will split the engine soon and fit it, but will do a vid on it so others can learn.
