I’m from this area - in my opinion, South Africa should reinstate the death penalty (I know it’s very controversial) but I believe it will deter crime.
Dead penelty wont work and it is wrong ...take away the rights of the criminals in jail ..and let them work do hard labour ...work everdsy in jail

I mean the death penalty has flaws too. What if the person sentenced, was innocent all along
@@StarBoy-qt3kh very good point 👍🏻 Since a young man I’ve always been against the death penalty after I heard a pastor saying “who is man to decide whether a man or woman should live or die. Only God has that right” He went on to mention a few well-known names in the bible of men and woman who have committed the most heinous crimes and yet God went on to use them in ways unimaginable eg David committed adultery, sent a man to his death, defeated the Philistines and later became King. Saul (before becoming Paul) was a mass murderer and went on to write the 13 books of the bible. Moses killed a man and later parted the Red Sea to lead his people to the Promise Land etc…something around those lines and I subscribe to that. So my comment disgusting the death penalty returns in itself is not only hypocritical against the backdrop of my beliefs. That being said…I’m from the Cape Flats (Lavender Hill) and I truly believe that something needs to be implemented that makes gangsters and criminals on the outside want to run in the opposite direction when faced with the choice of crime/violence.

Hey Jay, one last thing, this youngster who owns this podcast - his name is Josh…every single video of his is solid gold…I have mad respect for this young man. I would recommend you watching his videos that was all recorded in New York during a short vacation sometime last year (I think) it’s about 5 videos in succession or so but top notch content…he interview the mafia, corrupt FBI, the joker, America most wanted conman and few more (you’ll be blown away)

Let me sketch you a scenario - most gang members are part of two gangs….one that is on the outside of prison and another that born in prison irrespective which outside gang you belong to (aka the numbers gang 26, 27 and 28) you can do further research on that if you wish. Since South Africa has done away with the death penalty decades ago…these gang members are well aware of that fact and thus capitalise on it. To kill someone in their world earns you respect amongst gang members. For many of these gangsters, they prefer being in prison because inside prison they have status, power and respect. To them it’s like a 5 star vacation, depending where they rank in the gangs hierarchy. In many cases they make more money inside than what they do outside. My point is this…if killing earns your respect and power and a possible promotion in rank…and life is better inside prison…and on top of that you know that the death penalty does not exist. These guys have every incentive to kill or commit the most heinous of crimes (ie murder, rape etc) just to get back inside prison especially when life outside becomes tough for them. Hence I say, the death penalty will change behaviour in my opinion.

With regards to the teeth the white colonizer removed it n seperated us so we couldn't speak our native language n later lost it there are still some that can speak it but not many n that goes hand in hand with culture im from this area we were dumpd there and are marginalized while being the majority in my city we descend from some of the oldest tribes in the world n nobody outside our country really know we exist
