I typically don't venture to Starbucks since I like to roast and brew my own coffee at home. However, I decided to go redeem the free birthday reward on the Starbucks app this year and I'm glad I did! I got their iced lavender cream oatmilk matcha since it sounded interesting, and to my surprise, it was actually pretty good. If I had to describe it... it is like a matcha latte that you would expect from Starbucks but with a slightly sweeter, fruitier, and floral twist to it. For some reason it reminds me of the taste of fruit loops in milk. I liked it so much that I wanted another one the next day. Given that I had all the ingredients to make a matcha latte at home (including dried lavender buds), I went ahead and attempted to make it. It turned out to be just as good (dare I say better since I had higher quality milk/matcha). Give it a try and let me know what you think!
    Vanilla Lavender Syrup Ingredients:
    -1/4 cup (50 g) white sugar
    -1/4 cup (55 g) brown sugar
    -1/4 cup (60 g) hot water
    -1 tbsp (2.5 g) dried lavender buds
    -1 tsp (6 g) vanilla extract
    Vanilla Lavender Syrup Directions:
    1. Mix white sugar, brown sugar, and boiling water in a container and stir until sugar dissolves.
    2. Add dried lavender buds after the water temp lowers a bit and then add the vanilla extract.
    3. Allow the mixture to sit for 30 minutes before straining the lavender buds out of the syrup.
    4. The syrup should keep well in the fridge for up to one week.
    Oatmilk Matcha Latte Ingredients:
    -1 tsp (2 g) high quality matcha
-1.7 oz (50 ml) hot but not boiling water
-1 cup barista quality oat milk
    -1 cup ice
    Oatmilk Matcha Latte Directions:
    1. Sift the matcha through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl.
    2. Add the hot water and whisk until frothy.
    3. Add the ice, oatmilk, and frothy matcha into a cup.
Lavender Vanilla Sweet Cold Foam Ingredients:
    -3 tbsp (45 g) heavy cream
    -2 tbsp (30 g) 2% milk
-1 tbsp (15 g) vanilla lavender syrup from above
-2 to 3 drops of purple food coloring (totally optional)
Lavender Vanilla Sweet Cold Foam Directions
    1. Add heavy cream, 2% milk, lavender vanilla syrup, and food coloring into a container.
    2. Froth (with a milk frother or blender) until nice and foamy.
Putting it all together: add the lavender vanilla sweet cold foam to the oat milk matcha latte and serve!
    Cheers!

Thanks! Long story short, I want my little baby boy to have video recipes to some of dad's favorite/experimental drinks in the future... and if that could bring value to others along the way... then I'm all for it :)

Ohhh this looks absolutely yum! I never actually thought of using flower buds that way - Would it also work if I have rosebuds or dried osmanthus flowers?

Yes! Rose buds can be used to make rose lattes, rose milk teas, etc. You could also use the osmanthus in syrups to make iced osmanthus oolong/black teas. Typically a little goes a long way with flower buds, but feel free to experiment 👍

I made this a few backs and it was dynamite!
Who needs Starbucks when you can do it yourself?

looks good but does it have a strong lavender flavor? I found out starbucks uses lavender powder which you can purchase online

Lavender buds are pretty strong, so a little goes a long way. If you prefer it to be on the stronger side, you could add more buds.

You could achieve similar results using a barista quality oat milk for the cold foam!
