Vanrhynsdorp Wildflowers

With it being a good rainy season in the Namakwaland, the flowers look promising and starting to show it splendour quite early already! Here is a short drone video shot outside Vanrhynsdorp on 30 July 2023. Enjoy.

Very early indeed, but I suspect (hope) there are several flower species still to flower over the next few weeks. Because it was a partly cloudy day, the flowers were not at full "strength". Are you planning a trip through Namakwaland soon?

Indeed! Or that was the original idea, but as you saw, the dam is empty, so either the windpump's underground mechanism failed or the water is pumped somewhere else using pipes.
