    Great idea! I will definitely be using this idea. For those of us who are not using Adobe products, I suggest Inkscape and GIMP - they're both open source and free (as in beer).

      Thanks for the suggestions, Ken. I didn't think of those

    Thanks. Maybe this is a bit off topic, since you talked about drawing but you also mentioned about writing articles. I plan to write at least parts of my academic papers on Remarkable (it is to come in Novemeber). Have you tried to convert notes that include footnotes? Does is convert them? Greeting from Poland.

      in my limited experience, there's very limited formatting when converting to text. plus, it only lets you email the text, no save option. tbh, if I ever need that on a large scale project, I would look into other OCR options and use the remarkable only to generate pdf's

    Great video! In Photoshop, change your image size to landscape before dragging on your vector file. This will stop the cutting edge issue. :)

    There's also a modification you can make to the Remarkable 2 in order to smooth lines. The modification is relatively easy with some computer knowledge, and it's pretty unlikely you'll damage the device.

      Hi Develon, this sounds interesting, can you point to some more information on that?

    • @develon3133

      @@MintyAnalyst Basically you can check that github link for instructions. If you temporarily install Linux to a flash drive or something you can do the instructions. The fix is reversible too in case something unexpected happens.

    Can you recommend another software that is less expensive than Adobe illustrator to modify pictures? I thought the Remarkable2 had color for your drawing tools. Why wouldn't you use that? Very nice video.

    • @MintyAnalyst
      @MintyAnalyst  Před 3 lety

      remarkable 2 only has 3 colors (black, 50% grey and white)... so basically 2 colors you can draw with. I like to add more pop, so I add vibrant colors in post. as for illustrator alternatives, there are a number of those out there, but I haven't used them, so I can't really say which one would have this path simplification option (as all of them open svg's and work with vectors)

      Software Alternative: Affinity Design.

  • @theonewinged630senton5

    Does the remarkable 2 have color on it? For example highlighting in yellow.

    • @MintyAnalyst
      @MintyAnalyst  Před 9 měsíci +1

      yes, you can highlight and use some basic colors, but those only show when you share a file or on your computer, the remarkable itself is BW

  • @manuelinuxart50plus32

    Why don’t U Export to the Illustrator directly? U can also make the coloring there.

    • @MintyAnalyst
      @MintyAnalyst  Před 3 lety

      the remarkable app can only exports PDF, PNG, and SVG... so I export to SVG, and import that in Illustrator. It's a bit tedious, as it always exports all pages as separate SVGs, no option to select current page only. As for the coloring, I use photoshop on a daily basis, and I'm more comfortable using it, no other reason.

      What happens if you export into Photoshop as an PNG

    • @MintyAnalyst
      @MintyAnalyst  Před 3 lety

      @@brendavasquez8101 hi Brenda, PNGs are exactly exported as the page looks, so you get the jagged edges again, as the SVG before editing. Maybe you can try another tool to simplify the shapes, or see if this can be achieved in photoshop directly

    I'm hoping I can replace my WACOM tablet with the reMarkarle 2.

    • @MintyAnalyst
      @MintyAnalyst  Před 2 lety +1

      Depending on what you use it for... be really careful when ditching the Wacom for the Remarkable, it's a completely different type of experience, make sure you don't regret your decision later.
