- Today Jeff and Pauline are watching KZ Tandingan, who is taking part in singer 2018. She is doing a cover of the song Rolling in the Deep by Adele and that she has her own unique way. She is also doing a rap we really have never heard anything like this and so quickly amazing !!

This is her own arrangement. KZ sings out of the box, she has a lot to offer to the table. You guys can check out the rest of her performances on the show, SINGER. She sings The Hurts You Never Knew, Say Something, Real Gone, Royals, See You Again, Anak, and then with Jessie for Bang Bang. Jessie J was great in it too, she won the competition.
She definitely owns the song completely, we think she really did very well. We will definitely look at her again. promise.

That Singing contest is actually a stage for professional Chinese singers but in that season, they invited two foreign singers, the international superstar Jessie J from UK and KZ Tandingan from the Philippines. KZ was eliminated by episode 09 but still performed for episode 10, 11 and 13. In episode 13, Jessie J, KZ, and Coco Lee performed Bang Bang together. BTW: Jessie J won the show.
We thought that it was more a stage for professional singers. We think her is really great she has made the song really hell we are really a fan of the singer great program.

The auto-tune was more artistic than any attempt to hid her singing ... KZ is really creative. I got to see her live in September in a very small venue in Toronto Canada .. an awesome concert for local Filipinos (I wasn't aware of this when I bought the ticket, I ended up being one of maybe 20 non Filipino at the concert, but that made it all the more authentic really.) At one point the concert organizer asked her to read off a list of sponsors ... she turned that into a 15 minute 'scat-singing' lesson where she 'sang' the names and a little joke (at least I assumed it was jokes as she did this in Tagalog, so I had to go off the audiences reactions) about them.
One of the best concerts I've ever been to. Some time in these live concert videos you get a lot of 'post-production' fixes .. I can tell you without a doubt KZ does not need any post-production.She was as good as you see here. Perfect pitch, powerful, energetic and amazing (and she did this while supposedly in a bit of a dispute with the tour organizers as she had to cancel the tour shortly after I saw her ... too bad about the problems there, but I am so happy I was able to see her perform.)
They certainly want to believe that she can provide a great live performance. She really is a stage beast.

She's the type of singer you can't judge with a single performance bec she does diff genres and nail all of them but she can't hit high notes like she used to because of some vocal surgeries she had back when she's younger

About her performance .
It's all about making the song her own . She rap very fast but she is actually a multi faceted artist. She can sing all kinds of genre . Ballads , jazz , soul , pop she can do it all . And you heard it already , she is a killer rapper too .
She has her own song , but if she does a cover song she always add her twist into it . That is her style that is why she is unique in what she does . And she is very good at it .
This is KZ's first performance here and she immediately won this round beating Jessie J who landed second .

The purpose of the reverb/auto tune in the beginning is to get the listeners attention . KZ is a story teller when she sings . She tells a story. Oh and she re arranged this song herself .
Fun fact : Jessie J and KZ became friends during this show . Jessie J is someone KZ looked up to as inspiration when KZ was just starting to have a carreer .

KZ in an interview said it was not auto tune ...reverb/audiobox if I remember correctly. Her creativity is what made the song for me.

indeed it was just reverb, it gives techinical effects to voices but not enhancing or correcting the flaws in singing, hence autotune is never acceptable in competitions ever since.

She is the only contestant in this show who sang English, Chinese, tagalog Chinese, Chinese English and English tagalog. All of her performance were on a different level. She can sing high notes, rnb, rock, ballad, love songs, rap etc. She is a super talented and versatile singer. Please watch all of her performance on this show the singer. Now, with the starting tune, no its not an autotune though she sounded like one. She just made it different for a start and later give her real tune. Guys, the 1st. part at the beginning of the song for your INFO. was ONLY AN INTRODUCTION....For her own Version of the Song.
We thought that only in the beginning wall for the rest was really fanatic action
You should react to KZ cover of Say Something from Great Big World czcams.com/video/sEL7qazFqCs/video.html . The auto tune in the beginning is just for effects. Think of it us the break up and is very harsh. The rest of the song is her dancing on the grave of that relationship. The rap part is in Filipino, it basically means that her ex chose the wrong person to cross. It is KZ personal prose.

Autotune for the sake of pitch correction is not allowed in singing competitions. She couldn't have won this segment if it were so. In the Philippines, no singer would be caught dead using Autotune as they'd be ridiculed no end.

majority of the reactor’s reaction on the intro is the same, how many times did they watch a performance, men it’s an intro of the performance, building suspense and curiosity, it’s like why do most performances in concerts do have fireworks, confetti at the end of the show
