    The Philippines' new year celebration has a unique charm. Instead of watching in one place, you see it all around, not conducted. Just people making noise with whatever also. It's pretty heartwarming really. I'd rather have this than the 'obviously' grander fireworks display from other countries.

      Yeah, true, but on top of those, there's this annual organized fireworks competition sponsored by the SM Mall of Asia, and participated by many countries around the world. It usually runs for a week or so. Really grand!

    • @JaceGod
      @JaceGod Před 4 lety +2

      Maryatte Quine It’s just random citizens who bought fireworks and firecrackers making noise around the Metro area, that’s how we celebrate here in the Philippines making noise to put away bad spirits and welcome good luck spirits, it’s a tradition over the years. But at some places it is banned because it would harm the environment like here in Davao and it was implemented long ago by the former Mayor and now the President of the Philippines Rodrigo Duterte.

      @@dayangmarikit6860 Yup! I noticed the NYE celebrations began to tone down around the mid-to-late 2000s! I know it may be a bit of a bad habit to some that we celebrate NYE in such a raucous and insane manner, but that is one cultural "bad habit" I want the Philippines to keep forever! Besides, what is any human society without its set of cultural "flaws" and "bad habits"? 🤣

      No competition. It's a routine for us Filipinos to put out fireworks, sound our trumpets, bring our music stereo to full volume, roam around the streets making noise with metals clanking on the concrete pavement, shout to the top of our lungs "Happy new year". Ships on dock sound off, bells toll. Every instrument that makes a sound should function to the fullest!!! 😂😅😊😂.. I think u should come and join us even once to experience it!!! 😂😂😂😂

    This is Manila, entire metro manila is a firework display, exiting than new york, and other countries that only being done in a particular place you need to go and after few minutes of firework display, you have to go home again, In manila do it in front of your House and it will lasts for an hour or until you burn all your firework, this is the result, this is more exciting, lighting up your own fireworks displays, than just watching them. some neighborhoods are competing who has the best firework display every year. this is the result.
