- Fireworks over Metro Manila on New Year's Eve, taken from the tallest building in the country. To use this video in a commercial player or in broadcasts, please contact me.
I'm from Sydney and was also in Manila this NYE. I have a similar video on my profile as I was in the same building, it's taken from Gramercy in Makati. I was on level 53 but this video would've been taken from the bar on the roof (71 Gramercy). I just have to say that in my life I have never experienced anything like I did that night... All day leading up to midnight standing on the balcony there were explosions that would echo and bounce from one side of the city and carry to the other end. Once the clock got closer to midnight, I felt like I was in the middle of a war zone with bombs dropping 100s of times every second.. This video can't convey how truly awesome the show was. Sydeny loves to brag about its perfectly arranged 15 minute show which is of course stunning but can't compare to something like this.. A true celebration.
Good for you
im happy that u enjoyed stayin in the country
it is true sydney and london keep bragging that they have awesome fireworks display but for my own opinion since every year we celebrate this sydney and london combined was dwarf compare to this imagine the entire country is like this lol
Wow,,, now you saw how manila its been attacked? Lol this is philipines men???; how my country is??? Lol very proud of my country,.... 🤩😅

I find foreign people who comment about global warming exaggerated. You have to look first at how your country actually contribute to global carbon emission for the entire year. Philippines is not even close to 0.5%.
Misha Jacobs Those foreigners are idiots because when they look at someone’s country they assume we have the same culture traditions, economy, beliefs, rules, regulations etc that we all have the same problems and issues. Then they start to impose upon us. Just Don’t mind them
yeah the hypocrisy of some people here is sickening!
isa tayo sa nangunguna sa pagtatapon ng plastic sa dagat.. isama na dn ntn mga pinoy sa mga hipokrito sa mundo.
We Filipinos do love trash and plastic everywhere everywhere though
@@johnnoel3494ok lng yang ma'am mamamatay naman tayong lahan.
Fast forward to 2024 and it never gets old. It has toned down over the years but still give me chills
Filipinos be like: "What's the big deal? We do this every year."
Well.. Not anymore 😞
@@Dan-xx8fx Well nope. Even better actually. More lights, loud noises, fountains, and fireworks. Only less on firecrackers. But there still is actually. Hahaha!
@ZAVX JXCOB Nah, not impressed !!! LMAO
@JXCOB i think you got it a bit wrong so you see dubai does it... what london is iconic is its big ben and the perfection and synchronization of the fireworks...
New year in London is boring
Okay. Forget Times Square. THIS is where I wanna be.
Lirodon i agree
I started a tradition that every new years I go on vacation to see a cities new years celebration. This year is hong kong, last year was NYC and next year might be this.
The Legend Good Yeah! new year here is fucking crazy, but amazing
The Legend Better see them now before fireworks get further and further restricted here. Used to be a lot crazier.
@@evan4856 sorry dude. our new president is an ass so this year we might be low now :(
I've tried to describe NYE in Manila to my friends back in the USA but you just can't do it justice. This shows it perfectly!! It's all out madness.
+Gregg Starks You can show this video to you're friends.
Still not the same as seeing it in person and feeling the shock waves
Gregg Starks True! So what's their reaction?

Only in the Philippines
We don't really call this a display, this is simply a celebration. The whole city is in celebration. And it happens in most parts of the country too. I grew up and lived in Manila until 10 years ago and the New Year's celebration there is one of the things I really miss the most. It really is a free-for-all, but that's because during New Year's, Filipinos don't just want to be spectators, we also want to be participants. I used to light up my own fireworks outside our house right there on the street, with neighbors doing the same thing. Hanging out and having fun with family and friends watching the different fireworks on display in the sky and on the streets. Everyone was giving each other a show. To look up and watch someone's firework light up the night sky in awe, we'd then light up our own knowing someone out there was watching it too, that was the special thing about it all :)
You'll have one of the most exciting New Year's Eve dinners there as you hear the explosions even from inside a house. We typically leave the table and just eat outside to watch it all go down haha.
We do the same in Hawaii and it’s illegal. People spend grands and grands for such a small amount
So true
Cebu Philippines new year was also awesome
How right you are. The feeling of being in that moment is just surreal. When I was younger, I dread the 31st because of the loud explosions but I have to live with it as I know even as a kid that it is a Filipino tradition. Now, that I'm older---and wiser--I've come to love and revel (in) every second of it. This is what makes us unique and I embrace it. I love our NYE celebration here in the PH! :)
The whole country is celebrating
Dubai: wow fabulous
Sydney: wow great
London: bloody hell
New York: Stunning
Manila: Hold my beer......
Damn, how I miss how we used to celebrate new years back then..lately, it's getting boring!
@@ravenn0us Any Filipino 25 years old and above will agree with you bro!
Im 21 but I also agree with u
lol
The whole country, actually.
Just spent my first new years in Manila and I've never seen anything like it. I was woken up at 9am on the 31st by loud explosions and it finally stopped new years day around 7pm. Pure awesomeness! between 11pm and 1am it was insane
correction its 9pm and they're still going off on our street in cubao lol...
hope you enjoy your stay!
xXUryuuIchigoXx thanks we always do! My wife and I love visiting the philippines :)
yea, nEw years day in the Philippines is the craziest that I've ever seen.
that's great!
Everyone seems to compare Philippine's New Year celebrations to a war zone and this video is only seen from atop the building. It is much louder at the ground level and it's not advisable to walk or drive around the streets as they become mine fields of firecrackers of different shapes and sizes. It is a Filipino tradition that producing any kind of loud noise (whether fire crackers, honking the cars, hitting the pans, and blowing the horn pipe on New Years Eve would drive away the bad vibes of the old year to make way for good fortune and luck in the coming year.
The rest of the world may have the grandest fireworks display...but here in PH we only have the wildest, craziest, and the most memorable NY celeb.. Happy New Year!!!!
Try Naples, Italy
This is bar none the craziest fireworks display I've ever seen, freaking nuts it looks like the city is under attack
Imagine the fireworks vendors pay day in that city
Wow, that was awesome!
Mindy PatriotAngel it's more than awesome it mind blowing it almost looks like CGI movie stuff
that's not the best or the worst depending on your point of view yet... that's the wallstreet of the Philippines...business/commercial area... the more affluent but less dense area... the video shows less than 1/25 of Metro Manila (dense smoke and distance hides the rest)... and not the most pyrotechnic mad area either... you have to be in Chinatown (Binondo, Manila) for that...
Parang nasa gyera ang kabuuhan ng Maynila.
gRABE... ang saya! :)
When I was in Manila during 2016 NYE, It was like warzone during new year's midnight. People dancing on streets with firecrackers exploding everywhere and yeah it was fun!
December 26 2020 may nanunuod pa ba nito?
*I thought of watching this once more. January 1, 2020... anyone?*
Cheers chico! Happy New Year!!!
@@JB-xm8qi cheers to the new year... Happy new year!!!
Watching this in 2020 because I miss Manila's chaotic way of celebrating New Year
@@LiempoBaboy So do i. Happy new year!!!
Dec 12 2020
I have never seen anything like this in my life
This is amazing
Try to live hire in philippines, its more fun
I can attest to the fact that there are more firecrackers on the ground level than fireworks in the sky
The freedom of unregulated fireworks. Just pure shock and awe!!! Happy new year from the most fun loving people in the world, the Philippines!
I have lived here in Ortigas Center, Pasig City for the past 12 years, and I will say, this is by far the very best fireworks display I have seen since living here. One thing, Filipinos love to celebrate, a festival, good food and family is what you will experience during this time of year when visiting Manila.
No Doubt Philippines has the best New Years Eve. Fireworks everywhere. More noise more blessing to come 👑👌🍀😀🌏
the best christmas and new year is in the philippines.I miss this country.
you are stupid.
@@shellls5355 Wtf
Ok
Born and raised in the metro but I've never seen the view from the tallest building until now. Most Filipino adults (and sometimes kids too) know how to light up firecrackers and so I'm already used to the exploding sounds, shaking walls and the wearing of face masks every NYE .. but this moment captured is just so magnificent! Kudos to whoever took the video. I agree though that the best fireworks are in parts of Chinatown, Binondo.
Manila absolutely rocked 12 am of January 1, 2015.
not only in 1 place but all over the Philippines... wow🎉
Been here in the US for 5 years now, this is one of the things that i truly miss in my motherland, can't even describe it to my coworkers who aren't filipinos, they thought i was exaggerating when i said the whole city turns into a war zone, you really just have to be there to know how magnifiscent it is. Even this video cannot show that, grounds shaking after every plapla, super lolo, goodbye philippines, etc. Ears ringing, thick gunpowder smoke. *Sigh* i wish i can visit on a new year...
show them this video and this czcams.com/video/aDePijO81Rc/video.html to prove that our new year's celebration is unique and awesome hhahaha
Ugh! I HATE spending New Year's Eve in the USA!
YEAHH THE AERIAL VIEW IS BORING YOU ARE JUST ALONE THERE .... THE REALL HAPPINESS IS ON THE LANDS AND EVERY STREETS !!! THERE IS SO MANY ILLEGAL FIRECRACKERS THAT CAN SHAKE THE LANDS PLUS JUDAS BELT WITH 10,000 THOUSAND ROUNDS ...
UNFORTUNATELY THEY WANT TO BANNED ALL OF THIS AND MAKE JUST ONE FIREWORKSS DISPLAYY FOR EVERYONE LIKE OTHER COUNTRIES WHICH IS SO BORINGG ....
In the philippines its legal to buy fireworks as a long as you follow the limit on how much fireworks you could buy.....oh wait i forgot there is no limit :P
Your wallet is the limit! 😂😂😂
Traditional celebration of Filipinos!!!! No matter what happen this kind of celebration will always be remembered. Mabuhay mga pilipino!
Absolutely amazing! That's how Filipino people forgot the past and live the present.
yess a video that shows how weak 4th of july is here in america compared to when i used to live in the Philippines
+jizzinmypants9000 Mos of the 4th of July fireworks are organized by the city government or some private companies.
Fuck 4th of july
Can you imagine this, everyone has anti-aircraft in Manila during New Year's Eve? Lol!
i found it pretty amazing to see all the ones in the background, what looks like camera flashes. No, its all those fireworks going off, so many
Forget about well-arranged and explosive colors! Folks in the Philippines want to join in, that's the beauty of celebrating the new year! No arranged explosions can compare to this "war" of explosions!
Personally, I prefer to start my new year off with a passage from The God Delusion, but I can see how other people would take joy in festive lightings. Happy New Year, everybody!

A truly fun New Year. Real celebration and thats not just in the capital. Its all over the country's major cities and towns.
The spirit of the coming of Christ starts being celebrated as early as October. Thanks for posting.
this is just on the capital of the philippines..i hope NASA caught a video of the whole part of the country blinking with fireworks :D..it will be more likely a warzone lol
Meanwhile in NYC they have a ball slowly decent. So lame lol
Greg Smith ikr and people kissing when it reaches the ground
@@javafloof 🤣
Hahaha ...how can be a ball drop a celebration of New Year's Eve...you are right so lame.
at least they don’t hurt the animals with fireworks
@@sirbteq8974 how does fireworks hurt the animals?
YEAH!!!!! I was able to catch a glimpse of whole metro manila on new years eve and it was so majestic I've seen whole metro manila light up just like a Christmas tree. I was at the rooftop of our apartment that night and it was fucking awesome. I forgot to join my family celebrating the new years eve because of this scenery..
This video just made it to NBC's nightly news with Brian Williams... So cool!
Really? Do you have a link I can watch?
It's not all about the fireworks, you have to experience New Year in Philippines to tell the world how awesome it is.
I wonder how does the Philippines look like from the outer space during NYE... :)
It sparkles.. Wink..😉😁
OMG... it appears every block and house have got their own fireworks show. So hard to focus on just one area
Yep yes your right I'm playing with my friends on the streets and they all around you
i came here just to read some comments and its overwhelming specially to the foreign people it seems they appreciate what we've done . and thats how filipinos celebrate new year !
Have a happy new year to all of you guys ! :))
Thank you, Michael Jordan.
Every dog in that city was shitting itself
Those were the days. every year its getting toned down i guess. but still the happiest new year celeb. 🎉
Sadly this is true... i miss the old NYE 😭 😭
ganyan kmeng mga Pinoy magcelebrate.. wag nyo kme pakelaman.. try nyo mag new year sa philippines magkakaalaman sa true happiness hindi parang amaze lang sa bonggang fireworks display sa isang central park o venue.. Magulo man sa inyo Sobrang Saya naman samen..

we have a house located on a mountain town of antipolo about half an hour away from manila and we also have a third floor roof deck overlooking the skyline of the city and the nearby suburbs, every new year's eve since we have moved here since 2009 it has come into our tradition to look out for the fireworks display held everywhere at about 360 degree angle much like this one! and not to mention the fireworks are already held even at around two hours before midnight and gets even louder and more intense at twelve ! i was dreaming of spending my next new years eve in another cities like in sydney or in london or in hong kong...buuut nothing can compare some good o'l pinoy revelry :)
Sarap hahaha
Omg dis is the philippines i know! america new year soo boring. ball dropping from time square, "OMG WOW BALL DROP WEHEE!!!"
WOW!!! Must have been awesome there! Filipinos know how to have fun!
*Dubai makes a good firework show*
*Phillipines:hold my beer*
For me hold my TANDUAY RHUM
I love my homeland and I'm glad i went back but unfortunately i missed new years eve in manila! one day i need to experience this personally.
2019 anyone? Mas masaya pa rin ito kaysa sa NYE ngayon..
Men! This is glorious. Hard to top this for real. The view makes the difference. @aholyexperience brought me here.
Enough talking! Just shut up and book ur ticket for the next NYE in Philippines and experience the most craziest fireworks ever!!
I watched this when I was young. This gives me so many good memories. I loved the Skytrain, and when I saw this when I was still 6, I thought this was an actual toy and wanted to get it😂
I love to spent my New year and Christmas in Philippines! Because there is lots of fireworks and lots of fun in philippines during this time of the year! Unlike in overseas is so boring and not lots of fireworks like back home! I will definitely spent my New year eve and Christmas in Philippines this year! The food are also very tasty and very good value!
That's just how they celebrate new years in the Philippines. Citizens are allowed to buy fireworks, firecrackers and etc by themselves. They have the FREEDOM. I know that by spending my childhood in there, compare to other countries who doesn't have the freedom like that. People who doesn't like this just doesn't have the experience growing up and lonely during new years eve. If you have that freedom, you'll understand. LOL
Meron dapat tayong world record :)
it's not wasteful if people have fun over it. Happy New Year from Philippines ^^ ~
We used to celebrate new year like this here in ph. If you zoom at the bottom youll see alot of smoke, if youre downstair you can barely see the street cause theres a lot of fireworks at the bottom too.. Im still amazed how it looks at the top and seems like a warzone ahaha. Thanks for the video. It reminds me how beautiful we used to celebrate it now not much fireworks is made as some place banned fireworks due to accidents
Wow that is what I called individual Liberty of celebration of fireworks. Not just concentrated and sponsored by big corporation or government. Well again one has to take responsibility. I you got hurt too bad. Imagine having that kind of Liberty in Silicon Valley CA.
Masaya talaga mag celebrate ng new year s pinas walang katulad :)
not only in metro manila. but actually every province in the philippines do this. every neighbor enjoying outside the streets.
Thanks for sharing Amadeus! It was spectacular! Mabuhay Phils! Have a Prosperous New Year Amadeus!
This is just a small part of Metro Manila. Other places were crazier :))
the Netherlands and Philippines has same tradition in New Year....
Namo gaming Same in the Philippines. Major difference between the two is that it’s only like that on certain places in the Netherlands. In the Philippines, it’s the entire country. In the video, you only saw Metro Manila where the video cycled thru some of the cities. If you look at every city, every province, every town, every corner and every street in the Philippines, it would be the same like the video that you saw. I doubt there is anything like that in any country in Europe or the whole world. And the fireworks is not as massive and grand down on the streets and in the air compared to the Philippines. This kind of celebration has been going on since I was born in the 1960’s. I’m pretty sure this tradition goes all the way back.
@ROBLOX Namo yeah same in philippines but not only teens, even boys like 8/9 yrs old light firecrackers
I think netherlands celebrating NYE is just one city while philippines is entire country! In this video its only manila, imagine how abouy the other city in the philippines . 😁😁
And some m'fuckers do fire a real gun in the Philippines..lol
It's like that in the Netherlands too, in every street, every town, everyone lighting fireworks at the same time.
awesome!,My whole life, I've been celebrating New years Eve in the Philippines and it was damn fun! but this year I wasn't, my grandma brought us here in Canada.
It's the first time in my life to eat turkey and drink wine while feeling lonely and bored on a New years eve..
I miss these days... Damn.. when new year is a real celebration
for the fact that its even louder and happier in the streets.. party over here and there loud music, drinking parties, food buffets, videoke and yes of course fireworks and firecrackers before they got banned. filipinos celebrate new year like its the last no one can compete specially back in the 90s.. and oh i forget to tell you guys that after the fireworks we party and drink till dawn here in philippines.
That is awesome. Best fireworks show ever. Blows NYC, Hong Kong, Dubai, SF etc.
Thank you very much for capturing this. ❤
I miss celebrating NYE in Metro Manila. I miss the "warzone" type of noise, lights, and explosion. Those people who are giving negative comments are the ones who have not yet experienced the NYE we have there :)
the fireworks are literally everywhere in the city. awesome.
Actually the whole country is doing fireworks
I really miss the old new year celebration like this!! Happy new year everyone welcome 2020

Newsweek, titled its New Year story as: "Manila’s Fireworks Won New Year’s Eve." "Did your city hold a fireworks display on New Year’s Eve? Probably. Was it as good as Manila’s? Probably not," it further said.
In what news?
in the Newsweek Magazine..
+Mark Velarde Thanks!
welcome
this is one of the thing i miss about Philippines...i miss my youth very much..i miss to light up our own stockfile of firecrackers.
This is freaking awesome at its best.. Its like a war zone, an alien invasion where people fight for their lives in every street. This will put the 4th of July in America in shame.
This is one of great fireworks videos ever!
I wonder how this would look from space!
It was raining the entire 2016 NYE here in Manila.. But oh boy it didnt stop us.. aerial fireworks and sounds of explosions is still crazy as this!
Im so amazed but honestly the most exciting new year eve was early 90's 'cause that time No restriction for the fireworks every households has their own firecrackers, I missed those days 😩😇
RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! WERE BEING ATTACK! hell it looks like that Metro Manila is in a WAR!

I will really cry if this happens again in new year. It's so touching and emotional knowing that people are happy.
Wow😍ka2miz 2loy ang pinas😔its really more fun in d philippines👍👏
Incredibly stunning beautiful skyline!!!!
The fireworks were awesome also on Angeles city, just north of Manila. Even by just observing from rooftop level. You see 360 panoramic degrees of bursts and explosions happening dozens of times per second near midnight and you visualize every person behind it. Whatever happens, our faith and hope can handle it!
Looking forward to 2016 already...Plan to be in Manila and Gramercy Residence roof view :)
Wow! Super nice! Not only in NY but here also in PH!
This was 4 yrs ago but still the craziest video ever taken for a massive fireworks display
If you climb at the most top (rooftop) part my home during New Year's eve or some tall buildings with open view and look around. It feels like you're in a war zone with loud explosions and beautiful fireworks everywhere just like in war movies. It's really more fun in the Philippines!
Happy new year to us this is how we celebrate new year party on the streets lots of food beer and fire works at midnight with family and friends
Nakakamiss ganitong pag salubong sa New Year's Eve.
wow the best spot para maka pag video... ganda! at ang galing ni lord after ng fire works nag BIGAY SYA NG ULAN.. CLEANSING! he washes out the smug'... pero kakaunti nlng ang mga nag papa putok ngayon.... TRADITION NEVER STOP..... happy new year.. good vibes ' smile everyone!
This is crazy... insane even!
Filipinos do know how to celebrate. Definitely more fun in the Philippines.
Haters, this only happens once a year so chill.
Ganda nang manila.. Nice
Bongga talaga sa Pinas ang New Year walang makakapantay. It brings positive energy
Nostalgia strikes... Felt so happy seeing this grand barrage of lights... missing waking up with dirt on your nose hehehe... Happy New Year everyone- no haters please...
same here... been away from home and living abroad (all over) for more than 20 years, and this is what I miss. I remember, my first time celebrating the Holiday Seasons away from home, I cried seeing how empty and boring it was. Christmas and Year's Eve celebration in the Philippines is the best, there's nothing like home celebrations!
