That Glockenspiel though. Most badass instrument of the German military.
What you mean named: Lyre or Lyra, and it's one of the oldest Insturment (since 1500 B.C. - today)
Amazing changes the whole sound of the band
No German march is complete without the glock
You forgot about the Turkish Cresent
Badass xylophone
Bruh how'd these guys come up with such catchy marching songs, the Prussian military culture was just something else.
This march isn't even really Prussian, it is actually a Bavarian march. It does sound very Prussian in nature though which is great!
@@aussie870 I think you mean "Bayerischer Defiliermarsch" by Adolf Scherzer. This Defiliermarsch (version AM II 168) is by the Prussian/Silesian Carl Faust. There are a ton of works that go by the name "Defiliermarsch"!
@@InvertedGigachad My mistake then.
There are also russian, french and plenty of other marches that sound similar to these.
Don’t be sad because it ended, be happy because it started!
and then be even happier because on the pc version of youtube YOU CAN LOOP IT SO IT NEVER ENDS!!!!
Get back into your containment cell.
WEIMAR HAS NOT ENDED, I HAVE A WEIMAR FLAG FROM 1932, AND I FLY IT OUTSIDE WITH PATRIOT PRIDE.
@@hamuu9835 I thought Weimar wasn't Fascist?
Eh I wish I could like but it's set at 69 likes so no
this is probably the most iconic Prussian march other than Preußens Gloria, you can hear this march a lot, especially in newsreels
@@Svea_LifeGuards It‘s still played. The Bundeswehr still uses all German marches which were ever composed , even some of the more controversial ones (the Badonviller march and marches composed during the times of Nazi Germany, i.e. Rot scheint die Sonne or Westerwaldlied).

Altpreussischer Parademarsch

For me helenenmarsch is the best and sedan-marsch also i do like ,admittedly, koniggrazter especialy the one this chanel has but the one that marschliedkanal had was also really cool oh and that unique one dr.Ludwig had and now reichspunker has it on his channel i believe.
March of Anhalt-Zerbst regiment is my favourite.

Fr I've been looking for it everywhere. The resolution to Bflat is sooo good
Ein super Marsch und eine sehr gute Millitärkapelle
Me after listening to this music: TIME TO DISRESPECT BELGIAN NEUTRALITY!
Ein sehr guter Marsch und eine sehr gute Millitärkapelle
In the Frank Capra "Why We Fight" series, a rather protracted version of this march serves as background music for Nazi newsreel films of marching storm troopers, etc. (The beginning Da-dum Da-dum Da-da-da-da) is played over and over again, with no respite.
Also in 55 days of Peking !
I watched that film like a hundred times as a kid lol
thats why im ere
... best version
A mi criterio como músico, una de las mejores marchas del mundo, hermosa composición de música militar, saludos cordiales de Argetina

finally found what that march is from the footage where the Germans are marching for Admiral Horthy of Hungary
@Icebobk I wish Germany could march like that, at least for a small parade.
@Bread crumbs chicken nuggets

Ah yes Western Propaganda marching music right here, and I love it. Those old WWII films really loved to show the Axis marching to this song.
I've been searching for this song since ive watched Germany ww2 footages
i only came for 0:52 because i heard it in a british pathe video

Yes!!! I finally found that tune from Capra's 'Why We Fight'!
Same here, but you'll notice it repeats the same line over and over, in an almost mind-numbing cadence.

Why is it that every time I see a video of a parade in the Weimar Republic, this march is playing. Like was it like a preference or smth? I swear this wasn't as popular before the republic
because this parade march of the german empire. it's very popular before the republic all parade of German empire this march always played
@@gerylvalerievanshrp.129 Also in nazi germany
The conductor of the band of the Guard Regiment in Berlin Friedrich Ahlers choose this march as a march past song.
Capra’s brilliant use of this march in “Why We Fight: Prelude to War” repeating over and over, to mind numbing effect as endless columns of nazi troops march past is, I think, his way of leaving the viewer overwhelmed like every man woman and child in nazi Germany was a zombie in uniform and coming for the American viewing audience. The combined effect of the picture and music edits is to leave the viewer dazed and uneasy
Can you pls give me a link ?
I agree. Having watched it many times, the fade out from a crowd of Germans watching a parade fade to a blackened globe, in which the narrator intones: "And so it is in that other world". Very effective.
Hurra! Deutsches marsch!
😀
When you get A+ in Physics English Language Maths Social History. The walk back to your desk demands a certain swagger!!
Walk back to your desk no with this music you Goose step to your desk
A celebration parade!
Holy shit the trombone players are good.
As a former trombone player you are absolutely correct. They have to be CONSTANTLY moving those slides to the exact positions they need. That takes lots of energy in addition to blowing all the time.
Style Prussian

Mmmmmm Western Propaganda marching videos ❤️ I think I watched the VHS tape about this so many times it broke. Three cheers for war! And something else along that line lol. Man I'm a sucker for old wartime newsreels.

ahh yes, germans, the only lads mad enough to bring a xylophone to a parade march
Call it mad, the Glockenspiel sounds awesome and gives flavour to the sound
@@westfale1871 the glockenspiel that they use for parades is miniaturised it is carried in one hand and then the other hand has little Mallet that you hit it adds a certain flavor to the music

ugh... what could have been
What will be soon again with this new situation
Fun fact: this sounds like a prussian march, but it is, in fact, a bayern army march
this shows how germans are all proud to be germans no matter what
Don’t try so sell facts, if they are simple not true. It is indeed a Prussian march by Carl Faust (AM II, Nr. 126).
Bayern has it’s own Defiliermarsch, called Bayerischer Defiliermarsch by Adolf Scherzer (AM II, Nr. 146).
Your last point has no correlation and makes no sense, Prussian marches were just the most influential.
