Shelodon I am a PRESEC old boy - Odade3 (year 2006). You both have valid points in this matter. It's a fact that Presec is a science school (thats our foundation), most of our resources are geared towards the learning of the sciences. I was a general arts student back then, but the little I knew/know (as far as sciences is concerned - chem, bio, physics) will make you marvel. When we are thought, we are thought well. On the contrary our science teachers failed to show up many a times, but those same teachers will NEVER miss teaching a pure science class. This made us the non-science students as some of us were, to suffer because the main spotlight or focus was mostly on the science students than the rest offering other courses (I stand for correction if things have changed now - 2003/2006 is quite a long time so of course things may have changed; there are other subjects that need focus. Nonetheless - there is the need to factor in the calibur of students that are admitted into the school. Unlike today where I hear - placements are done by the computer and mostly protocols, but back then you will need to score 8 ones and above - (which is what I had) before entry but even that it was tough. So there is serious competition amongst the students at the end of the day - which means that everyone has to sit up - I don't know if you get my point. Everyone (students) will strive to make it since the competition within ourselves is keen. So Presec students as we are or were - are generally good. Now back to the issue of what the woman said about the dancing part, I think its harmless, but I also think it was needless since there are certain 'vibes' that should remain private other than being said publicly; the way of assimilating and processing the dynamics of a matter differs from one person to the other as far as psyche is concerned, cos if I were the other schools or anyone who seem embittered about her utterances, I will have rather choose to appreciate the strategy she has inadvertently spewed rather than attacking her. Perhaps it was just a metaphoric way of saying that while other schools focus on different aspects of their education/subjects, Presec is keenly giving the larger percent of their focus on the sciences - which is true. I support Samuel submission. I am also an Odade3...1999. Just using my wife Phone anyway (Bernice). Prior to this computer placement, general admission to pursue science was very very keen.....our time u needed to score straight 12 ones (our time we did 12 subjects). Instances of 11 ones was subject to an internal entry exams to justify ones inclusion. I attended government school, a school prefect & most outstanding student since primary 5 till end of JSS. I had straight 12 ones but in PRESEC, I met my meter. People who were 4 folds sharper than me. I remember most of my class mates wrote and had distinction in the O'LEVELs exams. Serious !!!!. So the stringent and high entry to pursue science in PRESEC is even a factor. The additionality is the Christian factor. The school SU and chaplaincy is strong. Those days the PRESEC park was more than a prayer camp. Lastly, I can tell u on authority that the school does not really teach students. However, due to the quality of brilliant students admitted, it ignites some level of competition. My science class we were like 35. More than 70% are medical specialists and consultants. The rest mainly Profs and engineers. Maybe it's a blessing. The school is blessed. No bragging and to attest the nature of competitiveness in presec admission and outputs. My biological senior bro....12 ones..now engineer, own self....12 ones (Consultant), brother in-law..overall best o level & entered A level in presec (PhD /Lecturer)....my last bro....JHS overall best student...now PhD actuarial & 2nd best 1st class in his cohort Actuarial science KNUST. Just analyse these events and make ur conclusion about PRESEC

Ngl here as an odade3 , when I was in presec I was most impress with the visual arts department. The kinda effort they put in their work is exceptional. If there are other quizzes for other subjects I’m sure presec will dominate. 90% of the students in presec are serious with their studies. Don’t sit there and talk crap like we don’t pay attention to other department.

I'm an old student of PRESEC and the truth is there's so much attention given to the other courses. There have been over all best students in West Africa in General Arts and Business after the WASSCE. So it's not like we don't give attention to the other courses. There's a lot of misinformation about the NSMQ and I think it's because a lot of those who now want to comment, have not followed the competition for long enough and do not understand a lot of things about it. That is what has bred the conspiracy theories. You have people asking for partial credit in speed race and calling that bias. Aside NSMQ, in a little over a year, Presec has won 1. Moot court competition 2. Cybersecurity competition 3. Chess championship (will represent Ghana on the world stage) 4. Sharks quiz (been finalists for 4 consecutive years) 5. STEMNovation competition These were not only science students (despite the Presec is a science school tag). The school is obviously doing something right and what people don't understand, they conjure and conspire against. The minister of Education is pushing to replicate Presec standards at other schools.
