Recently bought the freedom sticks myself and only have ever used them on 'Sound' Mode and never looked that special, but WOW now I have followed your video instruction, I've managed to set the Master and slaves, and now I have an AWESOME looking light show! This tutorial is excellent, thanks so much! Really easy to follow and understand.

Thanks Rick, that's an incredibly helpful video. Just got my brand new Freedom Sticks running perfectly less than ten minutes after unpacking them. One thing you might want to consider next time is how to use the IRC remote with these. After a few minutes of experimenting, I got to work out what each button does. No big deal and seriously, massive thank you for this tutorial video.
I first saw these on Americas Got Talent and they blew me away! I cannot wait to get mine! These are incredible! The possibilities with freedome sticks is endless! I have so many ideas for new light shows now. Thank you for this video! Definitely getting a few of these very soon! Plus when not at a gig these will go in the corners of our living room for ambient lighting. Im so excited!
It's fantastic that Chauvet do this. Have to say their technical support over the phone is absolutely top-notch too and I'm happy paying a little more for Chauvet fixtures knowing I can get this kind of help. Wish all companies were the same.

i would just like to say that this is the only video that made it possable for me to get my lights to work in slave mode.if you watch this vidio that the other videos don't have nor does the on line manual is right after he sets the slave channel to ist's channel he set it to 3 channel mode then sets the program that is what all the other stuff is missing i spent a lot of time trying to set my light's i watched this vid one time caught the missing step and had it in five minute's thanks buddy great job.
From one Rick to another - THANK YOU for this. Tried to do it myself with the manual and i kept having one stick out of sync doing it's own thing - Turned out I missed a couple of steps that were the key to success.

Great explanation thankyou. I only had one issue but most likely as I am a newbie. The DMX transmit and receive settings must be the same. I don't know why I had it in my head that they had to be the same. But I worked this out within 5 mins anyway.

I was wondering what is the best practice to set these up just using the remote?
Eventually, I'm gonna be running these and all my lights using DMX and am currently considering the Obey 40 D-fi to control these, my two Gigbar 2.0's and a pair of Wizard extremes.
Would appreciate any comments that people may want to add?

Great question, unfortunately you will be unable to set these up using only a IRC-6 Remote. Please see the user manual to learn how to set this up, or contact our customer service team by emailing chauvetcs@chauvetlighting.com www.chauvetdj.com/products/freedom-stick-pack/.
When using DMX you'll have to consider what personality you'll want to use on the Freedom Sticks. They can burn up DMX channels very quickly using the higher personalities so it maybe better to go with a PC based software such as ShowXpress. The Obey40 can only handle 16 channels per fixture while the ShowXpress PC based software can handle 512 channels per fixture.
The Obey40 will run the Freedom Sticks on 8 channel mode and the Gigbars on 11 channel mode, limiting you from the higher personalities of both fixtures.
Hey! I have a question, on a sound mode can I use only one of these colors ?? If is possible, how can I set it ?
We are quite a big band needing probably twelve sticks along with a lot of PA. What is the realistic set up time for each gig?

I got my set last week after an almost 5 month wait! Deliveries to UK are terrible! Anyway, really happy with mine but the only niggle I have is when the AUTO sequences get to 29, they go out of sync? Is this something I’ve not set up right as they are set as 1 Master and 3 Slaves? Any help greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Are these things bright enough to be effective wash lights for a dance floor or are they more of an ambient light?
They are pretty bright effect lights, but can also be used for ambient light. Because of the design shape of them, they aren't designed to be used as effective wash lights.
Great video! I was able up easily set them up. I did run into an issue however. After fooling around with a dmx controller I was unable to successfully get them back into master slave mode. All the slaves allow me to select slave mode but after a few seconds revert back to last mode used, leaving only the master to respond to the remote. Help please.
After you choose your settings, make sure you do 2 things. 1, press enter. 2, press menu until you get back into DMX.
@@CHAUVETDJ I recently bought these and followed your instructions here carefully. The lights all work at the same time and not independently like the ones in this video I have eight of these and set them to slave one two three and four and no matter what o do all the programs run the lights at the same time. Can you help me??

So can these be synced to the tempo of the music via sound or does that require something else?
Yes, they can by sync'd in Sound Mode. The sensitivity is adjustable, too. Thanks for taking the time to watch the vid!

Thank you for making this video, but hay-zeus Christo is ALL of this lighting complicated as f. Right now I'm trying to figure out how to setup my CHAUVET D-FI transmitter to transmit dmx to these sticks. mind you. Same company with the specific and intended transmitter... and I'm finding absolutely nothing out there explaining this action.
Did you ever figure this out? I have the WMX1 and the D-FI trans, still looking for info.

Pete, the best answer for you is to keep in mind there is sound mode on Freedom Stick, which has sensitivity to the tempo and all built-in programs have a speed adjustment.

They are DMX compatible, and fully pixel mappable
The Freedom Sticks are DMX compatible because the wireless receiver can receive EITHER a master/slave command or a DMX signal. It's up to you to set it up how you want to use them.
Why are they so expensive can someone gift me these 8 please :( I've worked my entire laugh to be disabled and I barely make money for food and my dad has stage 3 cancer idk I don't know if I'm going to make it in life. Great video anyways! Amazing lights do u know if they do giveaways?

Don't buy these if you want to use them for a show. I bought 3 of the 4 packs. Of the 12 sticks, 7 run at one speed and 5 at another when in DMX mode. And in IRC mode the only way to get the patterns is by scrolling through the 35 programs while the lights are on. They would be OK for an amateur but not at $500 a 4 pack. $100 would be a better price for these. Going to sell mine and find something else to use.
