Magnamon X vs Imperialdramon - BT-16 Matchplay Preview!

- We are back with some more commentary! TJ and Ben go through some matches from our recent locals at Sully's Abode. We are bringing back some casual BT-16 match ups so that you all can learn what these decks do and how they work. Today we have Jose playing Magnamon X-Antibody and TJ playing Imperialdramon. In the future, we will be looking to get more variety out there for you guys but for now enjoy two very powerful decks for BT-16!

Everybody talks about magnamon x and blablabla, yet nobody talks about imperialdramon . He is the true menace
Imperial is gonna be real strong i think next set -- partition as a key word is Huge for DNA decks
8:21 veemon does not live vs the security Magnamon.
Magnamon's security effect is 'Devolve 1 1 of your opponent's digimon, then after the battle, one of your digimon may digivolve into this card.' So Veemon doesn't survive the security battle as the evolution happens after the security battle. Cracked card.
Yeah I mention during commentary that I forgot it still does battle so it should have been gone, didn’t really change the outcome tho at least.
Honestly it's a fair mistake, there aren't many Security digimon in the game and the one I can think of (ZWART defeat) plays itself without battling.
Honestly, I'm really over bt15 so I appreciate you guys doing these bt16 matches.

BT16 has a lot more exciting cards to build with from a deck building standpoint in my opinion.

I believe this is the list TJ was running! i have a similar variant with a little different switches here and there but overall idea is the same

Gsme 1 final.zuba does not give tje second check because it must resch 18k when using tje option, since it was used before msgna x effect, it was 15k do no check reboot nor anything
I mention in the commentary that the eggs are bt16 demivee which gives plus 1k all turns as long as that Digimon has 2 or more colors. So he was technically 16 after final zuba which is the dp threshold you need to hit to get all the effects from final zuba.

This demonstrates the weakness I've been analysing for Magnamon decks. Which is wide boards. Deck has no removal besides ST Magna and some stuff like Heaven's Judgement. You need tools to match wide aggression when building the deck, and try to go wide with your level 4 blockers to match them too.
Agreed! it is still a crazy card but the match up can be done and it can bleed. It's just a matter of playing the matchup well and i think adapting to the situation
Magna decks run multiple copies of heaven's judgment and DeathXmon to wipe wide boards.

TyrantKabuterimon shares the same thing, but Decks can at least turn the match around with a good Option
With Magna you can only survive if you go for a Tech with a good Counter or you spam your field with so many Blockers that it cannot reset its effect
I’ve been grinding vaccine armor. Best deck in the game imo.

Yeah I’ve seen a little of people mention this, makes sense since vaccine plays around with security so much more easily than vee armors does. The only downside ive heard with vaccine armor variant is consistency but I haven’t played it myself enough to know anything

Starter deck Magnamon effect adds itself to the hand before the battle happens. So veemon doesn't battle anything. No misplay. 8:20
ST magna de-digivolves one, battles, and at the end of the battle, something on the magna player's field can digivolve into magna

I agree it wasnt a good idea to give a digimon protection to literally everything and also that digimon being able to activate ithe effect again and again. Also these matches are interesting to see what the other decks can do

To be fair magna x is a strong card but to balance its intent dp is low and it immunity is has a condition that need to be met first. If it hit a security bomb or you play an option to get rid of it it gone. If anything it will motivate people to play more removal
Agreed; i do think that it is a manageable "problem" so to speak so we shall see once the meta shapes up
it can atk you twice and is invincible on summon and your turn until the start of their turn and if they play a yellow deck they dont even have to worry about your “security trigger” card is tier0
