Can't wait to try out the Caiden tip, got a soft one coming in from Norway 🙏
Nice work! ❤
@@caidenbrand Thank you
Hi i like your video .did you buy an extension for the shaft or did it come with the lathe
I bought a pillow bearing on Amazon and then made an insert out of delrin for the back end of the shafts. Thanks for commenting.
I have the same lathe works good but i was wondering what tool holder you are using and where did you get the tip holder
I am using a Shars 250-000 OXA quick change tool post. I just recently upgraded for a cheaper 250-000 that I purchased on eBay. I am very happy with the Shars. The quality and finish are top-notch. The tip holder is actually just a live center with a concave tip on it. I purchased this one from Amazon. It has interchangeable tips. Here is the Amazon link: Taytools 468907 8 Piece Set Live Revolving Center MT2 Taper for Woodturning and Wood Lathes a.co/d/fvR48xV.

So everytime by replacing the tip, they grind the ferrule as well? I mean about 2 mm gone
2mm is a very large amount when it comes to pool cues. When I trim off a small layer from the ferrule, I am only taking off 1 or 2 thousandths of an inch. That is a miniscule amount of material. Yes, I do have to remove some material from the ferrule, but I do my best to remove the smallest amount possible. Thanks for commenting.
It's called facing off. Need a new clean square surface to adhere the new tip to. It's a very small amount, the material coming off of the tool makes it look like more than it is.
On my own cues I put a sacrificial pad on the ferrule so future tip changes only require facing off the pad and not the ferrule.
