    I literally yelled “NO!!” in my kitchen when you said “David Bowie’s first album”. That’s incredible man... the word ‘grail’ gets overused nowadays, but, these are absolute holy grail records. Good job man!

    Sperrmüll does not mean 'garbage'. It means 'bulk disposal'. So you put large things, such as worn out cabinets or sofas, into the street and it will be picked up by a truck. It is a service by the local communities. And a big thumbs up for your show form Germany.

    i sold 2 copies of that plant record for an estate i work for. i knew it was sought after and i made them some nice bucks, but i didn't expect 14 people to contact me on the 1st day of my local ad. they all said the repress was crap and wanted an original. i can't verify that but keep your eyes peeled folks.

    Some great grails Dillon. Years ago I overheard a group of serious collectors mentioning that the only mega/holy grails are the acetates (master copies)?
    Perhaps? I'm not sure since I'm not a serious collector. Peace to everyone.

    Very nice. Love the Floyd, Bowie, and Rodriguez. Did you read any of the article from the time that pretty much showed that the Sugar Man doc was basically BS. Apparently he made quite a bit of money from his music, and was touring with major acts through the 80s, he just blew the money. They also showed that he know that he he was popular is some locations and had done some shows, he again just blew the money. Doesn't take away from the music, butstill pretty interesting.

    I was recently given a box of records that a friend of mine found at the curb waiting to be taken to the dump. Inside was a bunch of old rock and prog rock albums (Even an original Zeppelin HOTH Ludwig press) and some older prog rock bands from Canada I had never heard of. One of the bands is called Klaatu and they were a prog rock band in early 70's. Pretty awesome to listen to these older bands that existed back in the day!

    Stream of consciousness comment:
    1) Didn’t Rodriguez know he was famous, and actually tour South Africa in the 70s? I’ve heard that the doc exaggerated him “not knowing” he was famous.
    2)Holy crap, Nico! She’s been dead for 35 years, but, hell, yeah, shout out to her. If she’d come back from the dead to trade records, Dillon would be the person who’d get to her first.
    3)Piper!!!
    4) The German word for constipated is “farfrompoopen”!
    5) Wanda; you jerk.
    6) “Steamer” 💩 💭
    7) There’s also certain plants that help music grow...if you know what I mean.

    • @noblerecords
      @noblerecords  Před 4 lety

      1) Didn’t know that, but a couple people have mentioned it, so that sucks.
      2) NicoMalcom look him up.
      3) Piper is so good
      4) Wiener schnitzel
      5) Wanda can choke on it.
      6) Stanley Steamer/Tough on dirt, gentle on carpet
      7) Hahahahahahahahahha

      @@noblerecords I lived in South Africa in the 1970's and there is no way a Mexican singer was touring that country during Apartheid. Would not of happened. My Dad told me that when you went to peoples houses to visit (In South Africa) and flicked through their records. If they had a Rodriguez album, you knew they were anti Apartheid. BTW< I have a first press from South Africa that I've shown a few times on my channel.

    Your videos are a testament to the popularity of rock records in this era, especially 70's sounds. I recall you with a few subscribers. Rodriguez, great movie, fairy tale. Music, not for me, average. When I get early OG Floyd's they often end up in Russia, as to why? I wonder how many plant growing Lp's there are, I think I have 4 from the 70's, my Phantasia lacks the booklet.

    I'm good with my 2018 mono reissue of Piper on vinyl that I paid like 70 bucks for, it sounds incredible and came with a nice poster and a beatiful extra cover . The cheapest original UK copy on Discogs is now around $500 so, no thanks! There is a thin line between making a nice collection and trowing away more money than common sense tells you.

    • @noblerecords
      @noblerecords  Před 4 lety

      Different strokes for different folks my friend. Some would say paying $70 for a reissue is throwing money away. Also, I didn’t pay anywhere near $500 for this copy.
      Also at that mentality, why buy a nice car? Just drive a $500 car, it gets you from point A to B.
      It’s not a waste of money if it’s valuable to you.

    Since Wanda's name is on a white background, try rubbing it off with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.

      @@noblerecords I would suggest acetone as a last resort. I used to get permanent marker off of glass with it. It may just spread and diffuse the color around though. It does that to remainder marks on books--they will bleed into the pages. Also, that rare first Bowie record has been re-released. I saw one on ebay.

    According to my German partner, Sperrmüll means large rubbish. Rubbish you’d have someone come and collect or take to a recycling centre.
    Every day’s a school day!
    Gonna check it out on Spotify.

    Omg, my heart skipped two beats as soon as I saw the Dave Miller! Of course his most famous track is the cover of Mr Guy Fawkes by the Irish band Eire Apparent who were produced by Hendrix: genius psychedeliaczcams.com/video/T-hdeJkdgSI/video.html John Robinson on guitar who went on to play another Aussie rare band Blackfeather on their psych Mountains of Madness album.

    Funny but I’ve never been a progressive or psychedelic fan. I like Rush lol but Yes, ELP and so on, just didn’t do much for me growing up. But fan or not I’m huge music fan that knows a lot of acts and artists but you pull out bands and artists I’ve never heard of. Maybe my knowledge of metal and grunge equals the knowledge but dude you pull out shit I’ve never heard of. I tip my cap.

      You’re complicating it. In the record community, it means just a record you’ve really wanted and is hard to find. If you want to get technical, if you look it up in the dictionary, the first definition is that it’s the cup Jesus drank out of at the last supper, the second definition is “ A thing that is being earnestly pursued or sought after”
