This is the first time I've seen one of these shorts where the cops who showed up didn't immediately accuse the guy who informed them about the weapon of owning and using aforementioned weapon.
99% of the time these youtubers who reel in a weapon call 911 and demand the whole pd to come down because of some broken 50 year bolt action that would have rusted away if it was just left there, often waisting police resources for views. this was the first time ive actually seen the cops called in for a good reason
@@overseer_of_memes they definitely don't demand anything 😐 when someone calls in that they pulled in a loaded gun while magnet fishing, that isn't a '1 officer' situation 😐 and if you think it is, you're seriously stupid and there's no wonder how you're not a cop
@@overseer_of_memesTechnically they could get in a LOT of legal trouble if they moved potential evidence, even if the weapon was unusable. Calling the non-emergency line is the way to go if they are sure the weapon is inert (unlike this case), but calling the police immediately is necessary if they want to minimize potential legal issues. That's not including the risks to their own safety, as old guns (and many new ones) can pose safety risks when compromised and the magnet fishers can't be sure if it's loaded without risking checking it. In this case, though, there was a potentially hazardous explosive, more than just an old firearm. A specialist was necessary, and cars to prevent people from crossing the bridge while the grenade was safely dealt with or at least moved. If you find a random gun, no matter where, call the non-emergency line. Especially if it's in a dump site like a river, odds are it was dumped there for a reason.
Well, I would be stressing too. That means less time at the bar and more time on the job (I didn't become an EOD Tech. to work hard, you know?). The hissing sound could have indicated that it is a live grenade (and unstable), the moisture got inside the fuse cap, and/or the fuse is burning.
The fact that you drive a Saturn makes you that much more amazing by the way. Thanks for doing what you do and creating wholesome things to show kids how to be and do good.
I love how they just took proper measures immediately to get everyone safe! Even the guy from the explosive disposal, you could really see his face wondering if the grenade could be that dangerous when he said it was hissing
@@johnstuartsmith Well there are 2 parts to tossing a grenade. You have to pull the pin but also pop the ignition lever. The difference is that once you pull the pin out, you can put the pin back in. Once you pop the ignition charge, you'd better run because it's gonna blow regardless of whether you try to put it back or not.
U did everything right. It necessary to call explosive disposal in this case. After a while explosives can be even more dangerous, and explode after slight contact. I know a guy in Russia who was close to die or having injures after explosion.
I appreciate your support. It's definitely better to be cautious with explosives, as they can become even more unstable over time. I've heard of cases like the one you mentioned, and it's always best to let professionals handle such dangerous situations
@@CoolioToolioTheCultna he was more like “what the actual fk, I’ve never even heard of that..🤔” And then like “ok we’re gonna assume it’s live then..🤷♀️”
Here’s a rundown on why EOD asked those questions. 1. Sloshing would mean that it was waterlogged or it was a previously live grenade that had splatter inside (splatter is when there’s more push then heat resulting in only part of the explosive detonating happens commonly with c4) 2. Hole in the bottom would mean it’s a training aid or demilitarized. 3. Why he got so scared about hissing is that time fuse almost sounds like a hiss and would mean the grenade is still live. Hope that helps anyone who’s interested!
@@user-ut3jk7it6c I hate when people get online and act like experts. I imagine they have to treat every explosive as if it's live, regardless of what the witness says. At least that's how I'd operate if my life was on the line!
The Germans also left a lot in the lokal lake of the village I live in here in Denmark. The area closest to the road running by has been cleared, has an improp beach and everything, but the rest of the lake is no magnet fishing and no scuba diving!
I can’t stand this guy. Not only does it create a problem where it otherwise wouldn’t, but you’re causing people to be late for work and putting the bomb squad in unnecessary danger.
In poland there was once a person who called police to an undetonated grenade and washed it before they arrived so it looked nicer. Another one also found a greande in a field so they casually took it to the police station by using a bus full of people. Our country is truly something else.
I live in Normandy, often people would find old WW2 amunition on the beach and around town, and it's really dangerous, one man was arrested after loading a shell round from a german 88 canon in his car trunk, it's impredictable and is volatile now, so be careful, dont play with that stuff
Yeah cause reading the other comments someone finally wrote what hissing meant, it meant that something in the grenade is reacting, aka it could blow any second
@@KSMILE508lol now I’m curious. Is it just a really rare species so it’s been 15 years, or is the snake grenade his arch nemesis who he thought was long dead?
I once found a WW2 grenade while walking in a forest in Russia, not far from Finnish border. The bomb squad guys defused it and gave it back to me as a souvenir. I still have it on my shelf!
I've done service on Saturn coupes with 600k+ miles on only a transmission replacement or two😅 The panels are all plastic so they don't become rust buckets even after decades😂
If maintained per Mfg specs those Saturns can last forever. A brand that truly tried to revolutionize the buyers experience at a decent price. So sad they were part of the great brand shredding in the 2000’s especially after having some fun redline versions.
More dangerous, in fact. The fuse is trying to ignite, but all that moisture is keeping it from doing so. That said, the more it tries, the more likely that it goes off, which is that EOD's cue to gear up and pray for rain.
Basically take something that's not explosive but flammable and it's wet. you get a portion of it to fully ignite more then half the time the lit portion will eat away at the moist wet portion evaporating the water until it can ignite. This is why forest fires can happen in the rain from lightning. Now take something explosive
@ThePurpleRider no hissing does not mean dummy it means water got under the foil in the fuse cap, causing a failed detonation. So it's a live grenade trying to go off, but water is not allowing it to. So no not a dummy at all.
I think it was more nervous body language and not wanting to tell him how screwed he could have been. If it was hissing from the igniter burning and it hadn't gone off by the time that guy was there it wasn't going to go off, something in the process chain was too soaked to ignite. He was more thinking "damn this idiot almost died"
The spoon is still against the grenade. The hissing was more likely pressurized liquid inside trying to escape after being pulled up to lower pressure.
Best and most polite interaction ive seen yet in any of these videos. And they actually asked good questions and took it seriously without getting pissed

“It’s hissing”
“Hissing?”
Lmaooo he knows he’s not leaving for a few hours
This is the first time I've seen one of these shorts where the cops who showed up didn't immediately accuse the guy who informed them about the weapon of owning and using aforementioned weapon.
i was just about about to say this!
Because people have faked these videos before

EOD bro packed another lip of that cope mint
Well, I would be stressing too.
That means less time at the bar and more time on the job (I didn't become an EOD Tech. to work hard, you know?).
The hissing sound could have indicated that it is a live grenade (and unstable), the moisture got inside the fuse cap, and/or the fuse is burning.
I would be to if unemployed asshats were always lying to me for CZcams views
Maybe he was thinking “man that guy is lucky to still have his” 💀
The fact that you drive a Saturn makes you that much more amazing by the way. Thanks for doing what you do and creating wholesome things to show kids how to be and do good.
I love how they just took proper measures immediately to get everyone safe! Even the guy from the explosive disposal, you could really see his face wondering if the grenade could be that dangerous when he said it was hissing

The confidence when ripping a grenade off a magnet has got to be the craziest thing ever
Considering that the pin that keeps the spoon in place is probably the part that is mostly to have been eaten away by corrosion.
Idiot almost ended up on a gore video site. Lucky for him he landed it on youtube instead!
or dumbness
Not confidence, just dumbness for likes and views.

This man casually giving bomb squad a side quest
U did everything right. It necessary to call explosive disposal in this case. After a while explosives can be even more dangerous, and explode after slight contact. I know a guy in Russia who was close to die or having injures after explosion.
I appreciate your support. It's definitely better to be cautious with explosives, as they can become even more unstable over time. I've heard of cases like the one you mentioned, and it's always best to let professionals handle such dangerous situations

"HISSING?"
Man knew he was cooked
The fact that he even had the balls to pull the grenade off the magnet with that force. Im leaving it there 😭🤣
Here’s a rundown on why EOD asked those questions.
1. Sloshing would mean that it was waterlogged or it was a previously live grenade that had splatter inside (splatter is when there’s more push then heat resulting in only part of the explosive detonating happens commonly with c4)
2. Hole in the bottom would mean it’s a training aid or demilitarized.
3. Why he got so scared about hissing is that time fuse almost sounds like a hiss and would mean the grenade is still live.
Hope that helps anyone who’s interested!
Thank you so much honkey99 !
3. Actually he got scared because hissing could mean there could be live snake(s) inside the grenade.
@@user-ut3jk7it6c I hate when people get online and act like experts. I imagine they have to treat every explosive as if it's live, regardless of what the witness says.
At least that's how I'd operate if my life was on the line!
@@TehJumpingJawaYes, same way you must treat any firearm as if they have one bullet in the chamber even if they don't. Accidents happens.
"Aw shit it's Hurt Locker time!"
Probably not. What explosives used in grenades is more explosive when exposed to water?
Fun fact, this is why it's illegal to magnet fish in most parts of Germany. WW1 & 2 left a lot of unexploded grenades and bombs behind.
Thank you for that fun fact
The Germans also left a lot in the lokal lake of the village I live in here in Denmark.
The area closest to the road running by has been cleared, has an improp beach and everything, but the rest of the lake is no magnet fishing and no scuba diving!

In poland there was once a person who called police to an undetonated grenade and washed it before they arrived so it looked nicer. Another one also found a greande in a field so they casually took it to the police station by using a bus full of people. Our country is truly something else.

Grenades 'feel'? That implies there's an emotion at work.
The “hissing” followed by his facial expression made me laugh harder than I have in a while

Saturns are realizing nice and reliable cars!

@@ashenmoonclashI had a Saturn Ion 2 back in 2008 and I wish that car didn’t get totaled, I absolutely loved it!
If maintained per Mfg specs those Saturns can last forever. A brand that truly tried to revolutionize the buyers experience at a decent price. So sad they were part of the great brand shredding in the 2000’s especially after having some fun redline versions.
When he heard him say hissing he had that "well shit" look on his face, like his day was bout to get that much longer 😂
As a face microexpression specialist I can say he was a bit confused about hissing
Hissing means it's probably an empty dummy or training model and draining the water.
@ThePurpleRider no hissing does not mean dummy it means water got under the foil in the fuse cap, causing a failed detonation. So it's a live grenade trying to go off, but water is not allowing it to. So no not a dummy at all.
When the guy repeated “*hissing?*” I knew it was gonna be a good time
Not me squinting and pushing my phone away from me. 😂
the hissing perplexed the bomb guy, he was all like "yeah that complicates things" as he walked away 😂
Nah, added confusion
@@kevinerickson84 i took it as confusion too. almost like he thought the guy was mistaken😂
Well hissing usually means something gonna detonate 😂 he probably thought to himself “they still called us? That didn’t blow you both up?”
