  • A landing and takeoff by a Cessna 177 Cardinal RG equipped with a Turbo normalizer and a Horton STOL kit. This runway is 1100 feet long sod at 4200 feet elevation.
    This Cardinal will cruise at 17,500 feet at 177 knots while burning about 10 GPH. Based in Montana when this video was made.

      No, a retired helicopter pilot happily flew it home to Oklahoma at 16,000 feet with a great tailwind. I'll have more listings over time! cardinalinspections.com/forsale.php

      South of Missoula, MT. Search for 203 Hart Bench Rd, Darby, MT. I don't think it is an airport any longer, I seem to recall seeing a more recent image than the Google Maps view showing firewood on the runway.

      Not really... the pilot in this case (it was not me) did a very nice job, you would not have felt much inside the airplane. Even more impressive given the length of the runway and criticality of hitting the spot. You might be used to some other CZcams videos where the landings they show all seem to be perfect... ;-)
