Here in sweden Charles the 12th is very mixed in opponions because in the 90s neo nazis and skin heads kinda made him thier symbol which tainted him. But i think most people just remember him as the last warrior king that we had.
I think the better series to watch that cover the Great Northern War is the one by Kings & Generals. This one is humorous sure, but very lacklustre. And yes most events that happened during this war is covered by Sabaton in their album Carolus Rex.

It's videos and suggestions like that where I think "I need to eventually end this series on Russia, but man I could do a solid two months of content on Russia". For this reason, I decided to go the Patreon route and will basically do whatever video on whatever topic there (also fine with doing super modern stuff there too). I try and sort of "curate" the content here so that there is a general theme to the videos, I think it's the right idea but perhaps not. What do you think?

Yeah I think in hindsight this was maybe not the best series to have watched. I think the Kings and Generals one may have been better. Ah well, it's a bit too late to pull the plug now

You probably have a long list of things to watch, but it would be nice if you watched that one. The music band Sabaton has a lot of videos about Charles XII on their Sabaton History channel, featuring historian Indy Neidell.
If you want to find out why the swedes won so many victories against much larger forces you should search for the youtube video "The Caroleans: The Strengths and Weaknesses of Gå-På" it explains the soldiers Carl XII inherited from his father Carl XI.
You have to realize that people of that time didn't live long and had to assume responsibility's much sooner that people today so at 16 they were considered adults someplace at 14.

Congrats It seems like the view counts on several of your videos have ticked up quite a lot in the last few days, and 1k subscribers are not far off. Not to beat a dead horse but I'm standing by the how did Russia conquer Siberia suggestion. The videos have less than 30k views so I don't expect them to win any polls, but from a knowledge perspective, I think they articulate the answer to the how did russia get this big? question better than any other I've seen.
I might do that one as sort of compensation for this one. I should have went with the Kings and Generals series on this topic. I didn't know about it before it was mentioned here.
