cool
Betterhelp is one of the worst companies. Why do you guys support them?
.
hey guys just so you know BetterHelp is actually selling a lot of very personal information to social media platforms so you shouldn't support them. its really messed up
money probably@@40g33k
"Just pick a different idea"
Sam has a way with words. By far my favorite critique of a challenging VFX shot to date.
the only I'm interested in about that movie is how much money they wasted on that stupid...
LMAO - budget hasn't been disclosed, but apparently world wide box office is 16k$, that K, not M, and it's been out for few months
@@dsfs17987 It's a Netflix movie, they basically don't care what the box office is.
@@dsfs17987 It's a netflix original, I'm surprised it has any box office at all.
Didn’t life of pi also film the ocean scenes on a huge water tank?? The green screened water is still seamless in that movie!
“A tank doesn’t have the right waves” my ass
It’s a genuinely great film, and I had no idea the water was CGI when watching it until this moment. It’s Oscar-nominated for the acting, which is what the water helps to sell. That’s what CGI should do in this context - boost the acting performance. Tbh the marketing of it was terrible and I didn’t watch it for ages because it looked terrible until I actually sat down and gave it a try. Makes sense that the box office would be bad.
Man, Sam got destroyed this video, the poor no-cocaine bear. Professionally by Niko, linguistically in the edit, and then physically by a fire extinguisher.
Stay strong buddy, you're one of our three favorite hosts of the show!
Damn, now even digitally in the comments.
Sam really can't catch a break in this video, but his reactions are pure gold!
holy crap rollerblade filming is some of the coolest things I've seen in years, I love advocating for giving cameramen the credit and recognition they deserve
Cred is earned just as trust is😊
Sam getting salty is everything 😂
The 'like' counter got the editor pretty irritated too!
14:34
@@MOSMASTERING Lyke Sam cares 🤣🤣🤣🤣
So good hahaha
Needs to cut down on the chips. Getting to much salt and fat.
I never realized how much effort goes into blending CGI and practical effects seamlessly until watching this
The practical elements help sell the digital ones. Like in Lord of the Rings they had a billion cg horsemen and five or six in the front so your eyes would say, oh, those are real, so the rest are fine too
HELL YEAH, hyped ya'll enjoyed my rollerblade shots. Love this channel.
You're awesome 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I was in the park a while back with my wee boy teaching him how to ride his bike, and there were some young guys maybe about 12 or 13 years old filming each other on their phones running around with Nerf guns - and one of them was chasing them about on a hoverboard, doing this big long sweeping shot from behind his friend.
When I see stuff like that I think, "yeah, the kids are going to be just fine actually".
Dude, you're amazing!
The Niko-Sam back and fort...the absolute killer editing with Lyke..."just pick a different idea"...the nerf shooting at the end...
what a brilliant episode!
7:42 thank you Wren, our reaction exactly
A VFX breakdown of Andor and comparing to the other Disney+ show's use of ILM's LED volume would be cool
They used the volume in andor as well. They just didn’t use it exclusively. A ton of the stuff on Ferrix is in the volume.
source? if you see any clips of vfx in andor they show that ferrix is a practical set they built, with some green screens for set extensions.
I thought the exact same thing yesterday
“Too Salty For The Ocean” had me 😂😂😂 Keep those coming!😂😂😂
Sam is on such a funny damn streak over the last 4 weeks or so. He's so on edge about everything and I love it
Having worked as background on those scenes in Winning Time, I can attest that on some days there were 1,000+ of us on that court set, and the crowd really helps create the vibe of those real game. And John was a beast, who we were all in awe of.
I have no idea how someone could rollerblade with a heavy camera all day long while getting the most wickedest of shots.
@@Isnogood12Probably cocaine
@@Isnogood12 Just rollerblading with a cam alone - the dude is hitting sick jumps too!!!
@@Isnogood12 one has a lighter camera and one would take maybe 10 shots a set-up, with rest in between; one would use a 'finger-camera' during prep runs. One's AC holds the camera when one's not getting the shot.
Thanks! Ya'll were amazing extras bringing that energy!
After 15+ years, Corridor finally made a Lego stop motion short. I'm so proud right now.
And they did it to shill for a fucking scam company
Whaa? Have I missed smth? xd
@@PapikHotter it's in the ad read
@@PapikHotterthe better help ad
@@leothepickle ohhh. I don't see ads on yt (lucky me)...That's explain everything. Thank You guys anyway, now I must see it.
I feel like Niko could be a great college professor😂😂 The way he asks questions to lead the conversation is great
I can see it, Niko lecturing, Wren eagerly sitting in the first row asking questions non-stop and Sam in the last row heckling the lecturer because he read something on Facebook. (Not a diss, love ya Sam!)
What a great throwaway line from Sam, "It's stealing if you can't give it back"
Niko decimated Sam respectfully with his explanation about the sign which was ripped away by bear. 🗿
7:43 Priceless Reaction
Ahhh so this was the video they were filming when Jan showed up! haha nice, glad they didn't cut it out of the edit
The Vandal has a making of on Eddie Alcazar channel. Not the face, but the eyes of the actors were tracked over the dolls.
rens face on the eye placement of the doll lmfaooooooo
Lyke segment was amazing
The Niko vs Sam cut aways are gold.
the level of hilarious banter has reached level 10 and I'm here for it
Mark Neveldine did some wild rollerblade shots on the Crank films and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance back in the day. It made those action scenes look extra surreal.
14:33 To Salty for the Ocean =D
I shot a hockey movie in MN, and the way we got the skating shots were just by handing the camera to a pro skater. It was so smooth!
Of course it was in Minnesota... 🙄

I love this show so much. I genuinely love Sam, Nico, and Wren!
"PICK A DIFFERENT IDEA!" hahaha love it
That Nyad stuff is crazy! So much work, but its flawless.
So much work for a movie no one saw
It’s hilarious how much blood and money they spent on a movie no one saw
Funny enough from the promo I've seen of it the unnatural look is what put me off looking further into it.
It's actually really noticeable and it was bugging me the whole movie. Sam was right on this one.
@@fajastata2 Haven't seen it, but yeah it might look flawless, but our brain will likely tell us something is not right
Can we please get an entire video where it's just Sam going off?
We all need a person like Salty Sam in our lives.
That shot of Wren getting traumatized by the realistic doll 😂😂😂 7:42
Glad you gave Allan Henry a mention! He's an awesome dude, overall great friend and has worked on so many dang cool things. He'd make for a good guest!
I think some folk would be surprised at the range of characters he's played doing performance capture.
This episode felt different in terms of editing, funnier than usual! Well done!
Like a youtube short.
it felt like they just watched whatever they wanted for 6 hours and then somehow condensed it to 15 mins
I've been watching this channel from the beginning of time, p. Your audience loves you and you all have the ability to lift people up. You are ridiculously awesome. I am 51 years old and I literally can't get enough. Respect to you all
I grew up reading Cinefex magazine and watching SFX explained tv shows. That stuff doesn't exist anymore so your channel is all I have! I"m so appreciative of you guys!!
The Borrowers is some hardcore Nostalgia 😍😍
Amen
Mandatory comment to tell people to not use better help if you are in need of a psycologist, they are a scam
Just like Raycon.
And airup
better help is also pro Israel
I used Better Help a few years ago. I did not see them as a scam. I paid them $40/month, but had access to a great psychologist. The flexibility was a plus.... And a negative. I liked chatting with her during our appointment, but the fact that I had no face-to-face communication got old pretty fast. Otherwise, I did not see a problem with them. But then, that was my only exposure to them.
It seems from the vast variety of differing stories about the quality of their service, that they are unregulated if anything. Some people seem to thrive using it while others get stuck with bad therapist. I'd say it's more a quality control issue than a full on scam, although I totally understand that when things are unreliable like that it can be argued still as a scam because it has that 50/50 chance of you not getting what you've payed for..
The editing of this whole episode was so much fun. Great job everyone
The video editing of the conversations over the past years has tremendously gotten better, and much more entertaining!
11:50 - “Like”

almost didnt believe the Nyad one, damn
bravo VFX team bravo
god i love Sam so much and the editing this episode was brutal lmfao i love when he gets a little salty. We love you Sam
3:34 - dude walking down stairs like a boss!!!
I’m so happy you referenced Animist! I their work, and they should be praised more.
I also their work
You do what to their work?
They should definitely more.
What an enthusiastic person Wren is! 👌🏻👌🏻
I always get delighted when I see him in a video. Wren is my role model for enthusiasm!
I basically only watch this channel for Wren mostly, though I don't mind Niko either. Their guests are also a highlight! I love Jake too, in anything he does that isn't a sponsored ad lol. Don't really care for Sam though - he seems too ego-driven
@@3nertiaHe isn’t ego driven lol, he is just messing around.
@@lonelylama5222 If you say so but I'm fairly adept at reading body language ...
@@3nertia In what way is he ego driven?
@@lonelylama5222 He doesn't seem to take affronts to his intellect very well? He doesn't seem to like being wrong and him getting "salty" is even a meme now ...
Now, I could be wrong, and he's just a good actor and if that's the case, I'd give him kudos for fooling me but I only know what they show us, and I can only base my assumptions/conclusions on that data :)
what an incredibly high quality episode, great jobs guys!
This was a really good video!
Even gave the ad a timer.
Kudos.
Was there a different editor this episode? It was funnier than most. The little cutaways of Niko destroying Sam, Wren's self-congratulatory claps popped in at the right time, Sam's lykes on screen... It was great.
might be the best ending to a vfx artist react video ever
I did not see that twist coming
@@LuisSierra42 If you had seen the making of Jan's lighter finger the other day you would have 😀. I was just wondering if they were going to include it or edit it out
Love late 90s stuff! Please please do Mouse Hunt! The scene with the nailgun and the tiny mouse has SO many effects! Miniature, live action, early CGI!
Gotta love the Finger Video coming out before this episode, the timeline has been broken! 😂
With the upcoming Oscar season I think you'd like to take a look at Spanish movie "Society of the Snow". The plane crash scene is spectacular
The documentary of the making of the movie is great. Most of the background plates were filmed on location; they were really dedicated to making it as authentic as possible.
O R C A R
One of your best episodes EVAR! Well done boys....keep it up.
Such fun editing in this episode 👌
love the editing on this one
I must say that editing on this episode was something else. I like it !
Basically only one going harder than Wren in this ep were the edits.
6:07 - It looks like they’re blending animation frame-rates, similar to anime. It also looks like maybe some of the scenes had the motion-control camera progressing on Ones, versus characters being animated on Twos.
I like the new react editing style, nice work!
Fantastic ep yet again, informative and covered a bunch of films. Excellent work lads.
Imagine having that much fun at work.
Damn Ren was on pointe today.
Fantastically crisp editing on this one
this is the best react video i have ever seen. great editing. much love
the maze runner has some really cool special effects...especially the scorch trials. i'd love to see your reaction to the scene of thomas and brenda running through the city from a crank it's so cool :)
Good suggestion
Favourite episode yet. The editing was, Lyke, hilarious; Wren's, Lyke, triumphant clap, the competition, Lyke, between Sam and Niko. Lyke, very entertaining! Thank you!
It was entertaining. It had the feel of a youtube short sometimes, though. I hope they keep the choppy editing to a minimum overall.
This episode was really REALLY entertaining! I like this editing stile better too. Good job 🎉
Love the music incorporation in this video. This editor is the bomb.
We are 125 episodes in this series and i still really really enjoy them specially this episode the way it was edited was so fun to watch keep up the good work!!
This might be my favorite episode of VFX, simply because the pacing and editing are so good! This episode is so funny!
YES The Borrowers, I suggested this one ages ago. It's a childhood favorite, glad it hasn't been totally forgotten to time.
It's Always so awesome when the big Three are on the couch!
Absolutely loved the editing on this one
You haven't yet made a dedicated reaction on "Bahubali" Series as you had said, I'm waiting for that 😍✨
Whoever edited this episode did a great job! More please!
Loving this vibe, the edit, the visceral reactions and all that Sam does. Thanks for keeping Sam's 'Too salty for YT' thing.
The editor needs a raise! Funniest episode yet. Love the character arcs you guys have haha 🎉🎉
Can't wait until they talk about Sora.
The minute I found out about SORA
I started seaching every crew's instagram acc to see if they posted anything about it or not!
@@maheshtamang6158 Not a bad idea.
Borrowers was so well done, i love the style of movies like that.
This was such a great episode. They're all great. But this one was even greater.
Person: cool sign
Bear: 0:56
hats off to whoever edited this video. All the Lykes, too salty for the ocean, and other little cuts were great!
Hi I actually cut sound on Nyad. Cool to see things I worked on surprise me here! Yeah vfx was nuts.
On every iteration of the water vfx I had to cut in more mouth splashing sounds, because the water levels went higher up on her face each time. By the end I was in a pool with my daughter recording her breaths while I splashed at her. So I guess a small part of AB's Oscar nomination belongs to my daughter.
Loved the editing on this video! Made me laugh
who ever edited this was out for blood. loved it!
the editing was so fresh and funny, good job
I'm so glad they included the Jan-sassination attempt. But yeah as usual great incite into how some scenes were done.
omg! i knew this happened at the end and it still took me by surprise
You can't be serious! BetterHelp? Really? If there's a company that is a walking sponsorship red flag, it's this one. You better address this before more people notice their newest controversies.
that episode was sick. i ended up wanting to watch all movies presented here and that is not always the case. also some very good "quotables" like the wren's clapp-point-and-stare of confidence and sam's "just pick a different idea" or "water doesnt have a performance". bravo
editing is very good in this one!
One of the bests episodes if you ask me, but on the other hand, like not cool taking money from better help
Great shot with that artemis! Cool outro!
That Lyke bit was so funny. Good stuff editor, I appreciate you.
Really enjoying the bew style of editing
What an amazing selection of movies on this one dudes.
The chaotic energy in this episode is superb!
You guys are epic ! Thanks for all you do!
