German Kaiser : I know the war is lost but for the sake of my honor, attack this utterly overpowered enemy fleet despite the ongoing peace negotiations and sacrifice your lives in a battle that is objectively lost before it began, given the numbers and equipment.
It is very important for healing my violated ego.

@@fragdoch-nicht1290 Admittably the point can be made that the Kriegsmarine wasnt THAT outmatched, as the Kattegat Battle which was the only major engagement previously was rather inconclusive and seeing how the Naval Prowess was one of the original reasons for why the British Empire wanted a war with the German Empire, it DOES stand to reason that it makes sense to either try to gain an advantage for the negotiations or to have the Fleet 'go out with a bang'.
Because seeing how much effort and resources it took to build it up in the first place, it was quite a shame that the vast majority of it was scuttled just after/prior to being delivered to the brits.
As for 'despite ongoing peace negotiations'... I want to point out that during the whole ongoing peace negotiations ALL involved sides were actively fighting and I think there was one unlucky American who litterally died like 5 minutes before the signing of the armistice agreement, as his unit tried to retake a small french village from the germans.
So I wouldnt call it entirely valid.

They also had many later nazis (example Bohrmann) in their ranks as well as later members of the SA and SS in there Ranks. People like to paint them like heros that either where strong men defending freedom from communism or that they where "the real germans" who where loyal to the Kaiser. What NO. Hitler was employed by the Army as an spy to keep an eye on new political party's and then inform the army about there doings, ideologies, if and when they became a threat for the democracy, if they plan a revolution and when the uprising is supposed to begin. He and many other soldiers who shown there loyalty and bravery in the war were chosen for that. They used those former soldiers for that to keep there old comrades at least somewhat employed, finding some kind of workaround for the military restrictions, keeping direct contact with an big reserve of former soldiers and war heros to reinforce there losses and to prevent them in joining some other group that likely want to overthrow the state. So that the down sized military combined with the freikorps and other volunteers could effectively crack down on them. He was task with reporting on a new socialist group with nationalistic ideas that Hitler himself would later reform into the NSDAP. Around that time he would meet a man infamous for cruel and bloody crack downs against communist, Ernst Röhm who later would form the SA for Hitler and the NSDAP.
The Italian duce was part of the communist party until he left them because they weren't radical enough for him so he created the fascist party.

It sucks that Germany basically only had two realistic outcomes from the revolution, Communism or Nazism. As a person that likes democracy, it’s sad that Germany needed to go through a massive war and then half a century of being separated before we saw a united democratic Germany. SDP and Zentrum shouldn’t tried to form a coalition, but honestly that doesn’t sound too realistic.
